Anyhow - what I wanted to say was: The vamp kitties on Georges cover put me in mind of the doggies on #21. Animals on both, and if you look at Jo's cover for #21 - anyone think they might be vamp doggies too?! The look a little...fang-y. I saw it as commentary on just how people perceive the furry critters of the world, despite how ugly they can be. Harmony's dogs... yech! And hey, dogs have canines, big ones... My dog's all cute one moment, but alarm her, and the fangs look very scary. But back to the point. I mean, even Emmie succumbed to the charm of the demon Pokemon spawn. What better way to make vampires and demons fashionable? Market them to the kids as cute furry things with capes.

Meh...I don't care too much for either character..I'll still pick it up cause it's Buffy, but I find both characters boring. We need more core scooby stuff I hope Kennedy gets slayed.

What has Kennedy ever done to deserve being slayed. I've just never been a big fan of the potentials in general, but Kennedy just really got on my nerves in season 7...it could have been the less than stellar actress. I just loved the Tara and Willow relationship and midway through season 7 here comes she-brat Kennedy (who basically throws herself on Willow) and all of the sudden Willow is in a relationship with her. It was rushed I guess. I'm definitely not saying that Willow should have mourned Tara forever and not have had a relationship...it just felt forced to me.

But isn't it Willow's pattern of coping to move on to someone new to get over the old love? In order to get over Xander, she moved on to Oz. Within half a season of the huge crocodile-inspiring tears of Oz's departure in Wild at Heart, Willow had already moved on to being in love with Tara. Not even just kinda liking Tara, but full on in love with her.
Tara died in May of 2002 and the first kiss between Willow and Kennedy happened in February of 2003. That's nearly a year of grieving for Willow. Compare this to Buffy killing Angel, being so devestated she runs away, and then she starts dating Scott Hope by the third episode of Season 3. Only 3 episodes into the season after Buffy killed Angel and she's already dating someone else.
Nearly a year of Willow grieving to only 3 or 4 months for Buffy killing the person she loved "more than anything [she] will ever love in this life".
Really, shouldn't we be happy that Kennedy helped Willow through her grief for Tara and move on? Do we really want Willow living alone, holding constant vigil for her lost love for the rest of her life? Is that living?
Maybe Kennedy is not the soulmate to Willow the way Tara was in a lot of fan's eyes. But I think Kennedy has been good for Willow in helping her move on. Perhaps that is the unforgivable thing that Kennedy has done - helping Willow move on. Even Willow accuses Kennedy of this in The Killer In Me:
WILLOW I'm being punished. I k—I kissed you just—just for a second, but it was enough. I let her go. I didn't mean to...No, she was never gone. She was with me. We should have been forever, and I— I let her be dead. She's really dead. And I killed her.
KENNEDY (kneels in front of Willow/Warren) Willow, I don't think you did anything wrong. This is just magic. And I think I'm figuring the whole magic thing out. It's just like fairy tales. (leans in for a kiss)
WILLOW/WARREN* (recoils) What are you doing?
KENNEDY Bringing you back to life.
Shouldn't we stop punishing Kennedy for helping Willow move past her grief? For bringing her back to life?

Was there an equal magnitude of hate for Tara when she became Willow's new love, supplanting Oz? Coz I seem to notice a rather big Oz fanclub around.

I actually do hope Kennedy cheats on Willow if she finds out about Saga Vasuki. In a way, Willow cheated on Kennedy and is basically using her to get in contact with Saga. Cheating isn't really the best revenge, but I think Kennedy deserves to be with someone who is truthful towards her.

She slept with Kennedy to get to Saga yes, but Kennedy knew what was going on. They had that talk about contacting her source and Kennedy said she trusted Willow! I don't think that Willow just said: " OK I'll contact my source, but lets do it first, and be fast!

And besides, we don't know exactly what Willow told Kennedy. Just look at that panel post-sex, Kennedy is all happy, like she has no idea what EXACTLY was going on while Willow look incredibly guilty.

I agree hitnrun017 by this point I am shipping Satsu and Kennedy just so that Kennedy will stop getting crap for being with Willow. I dont think she will cheat on her but hey if she does its not like Willow was completely faithful.

I still hope that Joss will surprise us and go; "So you thought Willow was cheating? HA, gotcha' ya! You see, in Anywhere But Here, Willow was hazed from getting a lot of knowledge from Saga(it's not a sex-haze), then Saga came onto Willow, but a split sec after the panel in Anywhere But Here, Willow pushed away from Saga, proclaiming her love for Kennedy. And that guilty-face in Time Of Your Life? That was only because Willow felt like it was wrong, not telling Kennedy that she had contacted someone who wants Willow. HA!"

Whether anything happens between Kennedy and Satsu depends on what happens in part 4 of ToYL and issue 21.

It'd be the first couple in this season to have some sort of future besides... Amy & Warren? Nah...
I mean: Buffy-Satsu went nowhere, Renee was killed, Dawn cheated and... see the apparent consequences, Willow's doing sort of weird stuff with Vasuki...
And it'd be interesting to see Buffy and Willow's reaction! Bring back love to the season!!

Kennedy and Satsu! Woo hoo! This issue sounds interesting. Such a long wait though, especially for issue #19 too. But still impressed by the cover as usual and the spot on likeness of Kennedy. Looking forward to it. ;D

Was there an equal magnitude of hate for Tara when she became Willow's new love, supplanting Oz? Coz I seem to notice a rather big Oz fanclub around. I'm not certain, because I wasn't active in the online fan community that early, but from what I heard and remember reading, there was quite the backlash to Tara's character in the beginning. Maybe not as much as to Kennedy, but Amber Benson apparently received hate mail and there were criticisms about their relationship. Hopefully now that Kennedy has another chance to endear herself to readers, Willow & Kennedy will be the next couple that are meant to be "forever", much like Willow & Oz and Willow & Tara. I think Tara and Oz were both so likeable, which is why Kennedy in comparison was criticised so much. I personally liked her and thought she filled the position of the "Anti-Tara" well, while still being an interesting character. I really hope this issue is the start of her becoming a more prominent character in the series.

In my opinion the only problem with Kennedy ( besides the fact that she is an big-headed jerk) is the fact that her relationship with Willow went to fast. They went on one date and poof she is Willow's true love. With Oz and Tara it was different. Both relationships were slow and we had time ti get used to them. And Joss went to a lot of trouble to present Tara as Willow's true love and soul mate, so its gonna be kinda hard to let go of her, and get used to Kennedy.

To be fair, love at first sight/date happens, but it was never said that "Willow looooves Kennedy". They hung out, dated, kissed and had deep talks about Willow's addiction. They had a connection. And Tara was meant to be brought back in Chosen and Willow would choose Tara over Kennedy, so although Willow liked Kennedy, the whole season 7 she was still in love with Tara. And today, who knows, maybe she would choose Kennedy. Maybe Tara. It's too bad that Willow & Kennedy wasn't given a better arc, but it wasn't unrealistic or bad for Willow's life story. Just disrespectful to the sensitive fans. And about Tara being presented better. She had three seasons to be loveable to us, and she wasn't a sassy character like Ken. And a few months after Oz left Willow, she was already in love with someone else(although, who would know what had happened if Oz hadn't gone all wolfie again and had to leave....). Anyway, I had a BIIIIG problem with Willow/Kennedy at first, but mainly because I hadn't forgotten Willow for the mind-raping in season 6 yet, so I thought"Just another betrayl" without being objective. That's my 2 cents. Or 50. I got nothing against the ones who dislike Kennedy/Willow, I've been there.

I really love this cover, kennedy's likeness is spot on and satsu looks great. Those vampire kittens/puppies look so evil but really cute. They do look like those two dogs that harmony is holding in #21. I can't wait for these standalone issues.

Thinking about Willow's character and being just grossly objective: She "cheated" on Oz with Xander, she lied to Tara about magick and used it against her, so... It's not so shocking to see her not saying all the truth to Kennedy. And it wouldn't be so terrible if Kennedy left Willow. Knowing her background, I think it's the only way Willow may some day take relationships more seriously. It'd be great if she realized that, once she's reunited with Oz. Maybe when she copes with those trust issues she'll find the person she's meant to love forever. Even though it's none of the above... (Oh come on! Let me be selfish: Bring back Tara!)
