So if peter had the ability to heal himself (and this is pre arthur petrelli and loosing Peter's powers) and future peter had a scar, then why would he have a scar if he can heal himself?

When Peter lost his powers in "Villains," that was a perfect time for the writer's to give him his scar. Now that he has his power's back, I don't see an opportunity for him to get one. Missed opportunity, imo.

Yeah I asked this question back when that episode first aired, it always struck me as weird that Peter had a huge scar down his face. Maybe he loses his power again. I'm getting sucked into a Heroes discussion now which I hate doing because I always post big speeches about the show. My theory is that they were going to kill off most of the main charatcers back in season 1 as we all know but the writers got scared of the fans reaction and backed out...now the writers are too scared to kill off anyone and this is wrong, charatcers will and should die especially in a show like Heroes. Get Joss in to write an episode or two so he can thin the cast down a bit. lol Also where the hell is Tim Kring when was the last time he wrote or directed an episode. I may be wrong and well off here but I've not seen his name in the credits for a while apart from the "crearted by...." bit. It's his show get off your big chair and get fixing it. If Buffy or Angel had slipped this much then Joss would have taken over the writers chair and made sure it was all fixed. Just my opinion though, Hopefully next season will be a bit better (I feel like I've been saying that since season 2)

I have wondered what was up with the scar since season 1 when Hiro apeared to Peter on the subway. For a while I thought it might be Adam's doing with his sword... but obviously it didn't happen. It was said in an interview "And numerous people wrote in with the following question as well, but we figured we'd hand it over to one Javier Caro from Peru who asks, "If Peter absorbed Claire's powers, and he can heal, why does he have a scar on his face?" We answered that question last week. We can tell you two things. First, it is not a mistake, Peter can regenerate, but he still has the scar. Secondly, we'll show you how later on in the series. We promise." You can find that interview www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=10139 there
