My family can't even afford to buy me a T-shirt I want, and the only option I have until I'm 16 is McDonalds.

For anyone who may know of my trivia contests, they aren't back YET, but I have been asked to contribute the trivia questions for Slay-A-Thon this year!

I really wanted to go this year, but it looks like it won't happen, just too much stuff going on right now. Such a shame too since I live only about 4-5 hours away. I will just have to try for next year I guess.
I donated 2 of my customs this year. "Five By Five" Nightclub Faith bust and "A New World" Mistress Meerna.

Guys, in the Yahoo! Group for the event there has been talk of top secret surprises, and hints that there may be a Dr. Horrible sing-along in store for us this year to replace the OMWF sing-along!

I'm a bit late to this conversation. Our local BtVS fan group Chicago Buffy/Angel meetup will be attending. If one would like you could meet me or the other two group organizers, Kelly or John or any other of us, that would be so cool. IMO, Slayathon is a convention in the truest sense of the word, IME conventions are when fans come together and have camaraderie and shared, and possibly organized, activities that might be based on the shared passion regarding their shared passion, regardless of the non-attendance of any celebrities that might be associated with that shared passion. FYI, my definition is based on my experience of SF and Fantasy fan conventions; therefore, based on my definition gated shows like WizardWorld, an event I've attended and enjoyed frequently, or Creation shows are barely conventions. (Realizing my definitiion is entirely contrarian and I'll most likely get flammed for voicing it and I'll probably end up a well done steak by the time the smoke clears). Concerning Dave and Buster's (hosting venue for Chicago Slayathon) age policies their policies confrom to Illinois state law regarding alcohol access by under-agers, but their policies are their corporate policy to and in some cases their corporate policy has an age cut off 25, and IIRC it's a curfew for staying in restaurant after midnight. FYI, I've been asked to show ID at this particular D&B's restaurant, and I am way past the age of Illinois drinking age or their age cutoff. Additionally, if anyone is accompanied by a guardian they can stay till the guardian leaves, AFAIK. IIRC, at past Slayathons I've seen a few teenagers

IIRC, at past Slayathons I've seen a few teenagers *raises hand and smiles* EDIT Also, the pic I posted in this thread... well, now I have red roots and semi-red tips in my hair. So a new pic may be coming up in here before the event. I just need to get a good one. And, Alyrenee of undeadamerica.blogspot.com and a past mod here will be attending again this year.

I hope you'll take the time to read about an upcoming Make-A-Wish fundraiser and decide to donate. I need your help and your money!
The Slay-A-Thon team (Kelly Creamer & Jennifer Cohen) is hosting our 6th annual "Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel" viewing marathon on August 23, 2008. Participants get sponsorship the same way tax-deductible donations are pledged for walk-a-thons, bike-a-thons, or any-other-thing-you-can-think-of-a-thons. Our goal this year is to raise $25,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. We'll also have a great day with 100+ fun people all in one room with a huge TV.
In the past 5 years, the Slay-A-Thon benefits have raised over $55,000. These funds let us "adopt" 11 amazing kids and grant 11 amazing wishes! The Wish Kids and their families got a break from doctors, hospitals, and everyday life... they had experiences they could only have wished for! Read about our kids here…
Bottom line, what am I asking you to do? Donate by August 22! Here’s how…
1. You can go to the Slay-A-Thon (http://www.slayathon.org) web site and donate via PayPal
PS: Please forward this message to as many people as you can! You don’t have to attend to help and more money equals more wishes!
