So, I am watching Season 4 of Angel right now, and noticed something very interesting:
Alexis is just an incredible actor. Everytime we see Wesley during a dialogue with Fred, he seems to be kind, sweet and humble, but in an instant, when someone else enters the room, Wesley becomes dark, harsh and bitter in the way he acts and even talks (!). Alexis managed to instantly change the tone of his voice.
This is such a fascinating detail. Incredible.

I think consiously Wesley didn't want to die. But I have awlays felt thay Wesley died with Fred. That light you get from life was just gone. not dimmed like in S4 but gone.
In fact to me Wesley's death was always saddder than Fred's. Because she still had hopes and dreams even if they were taken from her - at least she had them. I think Wesley didn'twant to die because Wesley is such a hero that he would continue fighting the good fight without complaint because he knows he should.

I am so in!
Do you think Wesley was right not to tell Angel about the "Father will kill the son" prophecy he found in Season 3?
I understand that he did what he thought was right, but I think Wes was still stupid for not telling Angel. I believe that Angel would want to do what is right for his son, even if that means getting him away from him. Had he told Angel, they probably would have figured out what Wolfram & Hart was doing earlier. Also, the prophecy didn't say when or how Angel would kill his son. All it said was "The Father Will Kill the Son" for all he knew, Angel did it to save the world and he had no choice. I get why he didn't tell Angel, but I still think he was stupid.
I'll answer the other questions later.

I think Wesley is the most interesting and well developed character on AtS, which I equally attribute to good writing and good acting skills. He's probably the only character I feel the show took full circle in telling his personal story.
And if I compare Wesley & Angel, the supposed hero and key player in the AtS storyline pales in comparison. For me, Wesley's story and the Wesley/Lilah relationship were the only parts of S4 worth watching.
So yea, I guess I pretty much adore this character. And him telling the woman in his closet (can't remember her name) that he'd take away her bucket was priceless.

I watched "the trial" yesterday, and this quote reminded me of why I love Wesley so much.
CORDELIA: Don't say Darla! I am sick and tired of hearing about Darla. If I hear the name Darla one more time - And he is not distraught, he's obsessed! And I thought you were gonna be a man and talk to him about this!
WESLEY: I was a man! I said - things.
CORDELIA: Like what?
WESLEY: Like - did he prefer milk or sugar in his tea. It's how men talk about things in England.
and then after Angel starts up with the Darla obsessing again we get
WESLEY: Didn't we learn anything from the tea?

Lol! I love dorky Wesley. I thought his extra-stubbly, mentally unstable, insomniac first cousin was cool, too, but dorky Wesley just cracks me up.

I love Wesley! He had such a hard life. He possibly has one of the most interesting and complex character developments. Though I think he should have gotten together with Cordy after he went rogue-demon-hunter

I just watch Wesley's death scene. WHY?! I think it's time to watch season two and three of Angel again for Wesley. I loved when he was the leader of Angel Investigations after Angel lost it. Dark Wesley was sexier than hell too.

Dark Wesley was sexier than hell too. Haha yes, Dark Wesley! I mean, just look at the name of this thread... I do miss dorky Wesley however. It's pretty much why I love Spin the Bottle so much! We get a break from all the heaviness of that season and indulge in old school Wesley. I mean, he is head boy after all. ;D

In fact to me Wesley's death was always saddder than Fred's. Because she still had hopes and dreams even if they were taken from her - at least she had them. I think Wesley didn'twant to die because Wesley is such a hero that he would continue fighting the good fight without complaint because he knows he should. I think Wesley really wished to die, deep down in his heart. At least since around the middle of Season 3. The loa, who Wesley talks to, indicates it. 'You risk your life, human, calling on the Loa. But perhaps what you really seek is death - the pain in your heart begs for it.' And that was even BEFORE he got his throat slit and abandoned by the Fang Gang. It got better at the beginning of Season 5, with the amnesia-spell cast by Wolfram and Heart and all, but ever since Fred died and he undid the spell, causing everyone to regain their memories, it was inevitable for Wesley to die. Yes, he is a hero. A big damn one, infact, but also a very sensitive person. I think what happened to him in the course of the series, was just too much for him to handle. I think he wanted to die, needed to die and deserved to die.
