What is the best Buffy or Angel book in your opinion? I want to start reading some of them, and I want to know the good ones. So... What do you think???

It's been a while, but I'd recommend Pretty Maids All In a Row, The Book of Fours, The Gatekeeper Trilogy. I'm not sure how many of those actually withstood the test of time, but they were pretty good back when I was younger.

I'm re-reading the Gatekeeper Trilogy and it's really not too bad. I also read the Lost Slayer series and it was really good, I thoroughly enjoyed it. My favorite short novel is Halloween Rain, although it may be a bit kitschy for someone over 12(which is around when I first read it). But I still love it! Have you also read the Tales of the Slayers? Very interesting reads. Good Luck!

The Tales of the Slayers was pretty hit-or-miss with me, the novels that is. Some of the stories were quite well-written, but some of them were like bad fanfiction. Just a note of clarification, the stories in the Tales anthologies are not considered canon, if that's a concern (which I doubt, since this is more of fun reading than anything else).

Go Ask Malice, first and foremost. Even if you don't particularly love Faith as a character, this is a fabulous insight into her state of mind in the few years before she arrived in Sunnydale.

Go ask malice is great I actually really liked Oz into the wild as well because they don’t clearly contradict cannon and add extra info on the characters

I thought Tales of the Slayers was canon. I mean, the monkey demon was introduced in Tales of the Slayers (during the Fray story) and it was then shown again in Season 8. Also, Fray knows who Buffy is in Time of Your Life because of what she read at the end of Tales of the Slayers. Am I wrong?

Go Ask Malice is great. You get to see Faith at a stage of her life where she was more innocent and sympathetic. She doesn't really develop her cynical attitude until the end of the novel. It's pretty sad. Also, Fray knows who Buffy is in Time of Your Life because of what she read at the end of Tales of the Slayers. Am I wrong? Tales of the Slayers (the comic books) is canon, but the novels Tales of the Slayer are just regular non-canon Buffy books.

Thanks for clarifying for me, Paul. I thought I was pretty clear that I meant the novels, and not the comics, but maybe I wasn't. Sorry about the confusion, Tie.

Queen of the Slayers Dark Congress Go Ask Malice <333333333 Blackout
and the Stake Your Destiny series. has anyone read them? they're a very fun read. they're set in second person present-tense, and when you reach a fork in the road it's like if you want to do this, go to this page, but if you want to do this, go to this other page. i actually went through ever book and followed every possible path to reach every possible ending. tons of fun!

Okay, I said I would start reading them, so I am! I plan on reading four of the most popular ones in this board: Dark Congress, Queen of the Slayers, Spike & Dru: Pretty Maids All In a Row, and Go ask Malice.

Cursed is one of my favourites, along with Monster Island and the Unseen trilogy. I didn't mind One Thing or Your Mother, which is set in Buffy season 2, but I wasn't really a big fan of Heat. Maybe cuz I'm an anti-Bangel person, but other than that, it wasn't too bad

Cursed is one of my favourites, along with Monster Island and the Unseen trilogy "Cursed" is a favourite of mine as well. It's very well written and unlike many of the other crossover novels, which often fail, for me, because they have too many characters in them, mostly focusses on two, Angel and Spike (Cordy is a welcome presence as well) - plus there are plenty of 'fanged four' flashbacks, which is always good. Mel Odom does a very good job with both Spike and Angel.
