Good start to the season, good to see everyone again. I am liking Jason's character develoment, I think by the end of this series he'll be quite the stand up guy. I can do without the Tara and Eggs stuff (I honestly never cared for Eggs, I mean they guy is named Eggs) and not much new for Sookie execpt being worried. I am definitly interested to see how Bill gets out of his little predicament. Should be a good fight next episode.

Okay, I'll try to post a better review now... The episode was a good start to the Third Season. It definitely wasn't the strongest episode, but it sure wasn't the worst either. It had some very great moments, ones that will probably go down in 'True Blood History'. Like: - Getting to see Eric's 'moon'. (I'm sure almost every female was cheering at this.) - "I'm in no mood for lesbian weirdness tonight, Pam!" (Best line of the episode, IMO.) - The BillxSam sexy dream. (In a weird way, I hoped that this would happen. Let's face it, it wouldn't have made sense if it didn't.) Things that I personally enjoyed were: - Pam 'trying to stop Sookie'. lmfao. - Pam altogether. - Sophie-Ann reappearing. <3 She was fabulous, IMO. Loved her to pieces. I hope she is a strong recurring character this season. - Jessica. She was great! Her plot right now is a bit slower than others, but she does a good job playing it along. - Olivia, the old lady. Awwwww! I love old people. xD And Bill's scenes with her were so bumpy: One second he was feeding off of her, the next he was giving her a happy memory. Awwww, once more. So, yeah. I really like were this season is going. The episode just seemed to introduce each plot, and only move each one a tad forward. But I'm okay with that. I hope certain episodes will deal with each plot a bit more than others, taking turns. As a lot seems to be going on. And I take it the guys who kidnapped Bill were just V addicted werewolves? Or are they apart of a larger plan? My guess is: Yes, they have a bigger purpose. BTW, loved the werewolves. I am so glad that they decided to use real wolves this season. Also, as much as I love Sophie-Ann, does anyone else want Eric to bitch slap her right in the face? She is always so up-close, and threatening with him; Eric could so kill her(At least bitch slap her). He's twice her age! But, hey, if they want to keep Sophie-Ann as awesome as she is, that's a-okay by me too. And Tara needs to get over Eggs. Quickly. I'm tired of seeing her all emotional, and manipulated by other happenings. She just needs to overdose, survive, and turn back into a bitch. I love bitchy Tara. My guess is that she'll hook up with that new vampire, Franklin, and get him to mesmerize her into forgetting Eggs, or just to not feel sorrow over his death. Jason's whole ordeal is okay. I like his story, but I like Jason when he's not all depressed and guilty. :/ I'm liking his relationship with Andy. And that Hoyt moved in with him. xD Speaking of Andy, I'm liking him more and more. I don't think a lot of people like him, but he's growing on me! Last season was only the beginning of Andy's rise to fame, we all know it. "Pig!!!!" And Arlene preggerz! O.O I wonder if she really is... ZOMG. I just had an idea. What if Terry is a werewolf? That could be why Arlene has super smelling? The baby is also part werewolf, and so it affects Arlene's senses? Hmm. Interesting... Imma laugh if I'm right. I think I read somewhere that we'll find out a secret about Terry... The pieces are coming together in my mind. Bwahaha. Lafayette was great. He didn't do much but everything he did do was perfect. And more of Tara's mom. <333 I love her. She's annoying, and I don't like Jesus Freaks, but she has something about her. Maybe her past, and her new connection with Tara? -Shrugs- As for Pam being a new main character... I loved her in every scene. BUT I feel she's just being shoved into situations. Like the writers are just trying to find stuff for her to do. Still, I love her though. The actress is great. And Pam says she used to be a 'Hookah'. Bwahaha. Loooove it. Well, I'm excited for next sunday! ;D I'd give this episode a 8.5/10. Taking off some point-age, because it seemed to jump around quickly. And because of the jumping, none of the individual plots moved along much. Though again, this is just a season opener. P.S. - Didn't mention Sam much did I? Hmm, guess I forgot. Maybe he'll get something exciting next week. I'm thinking he will.

Ryan Kwanten and Kristin Bauer were fantastic in last night's premiere. They definitely carried the premiere and had most of the funnier lines. I love the Andy/Jason friendship, they are a great pair.
I hope Sam isn't away from the gang long, as he's my favorite character, but I have a feeling his storyline is going to be a good one.
Tara continues to drag, unfortunately. In Season 1 she was such a perfect balance of feisty and complex, and Season 2 really dropped the ball. Eggs sucked as a character and to see her try to kill herself over the guy just isn't all that exciting. Here's hoping she recovers quickly, as she was a favorite in Season 1.
I'm also really liking Jessica's story. She really has no clue what to do when Bill isn't around to guide her, and this "fish out of water" stuff is a ton of fun.
This episode really balanced all the characters really well, which is hard to do when the cast is so large. I'm going to call it right now, Ryan and Kristin get Supporting Actors noms next year.

Pam just stole this episode. Soooo glad they bumped her up to regular. The best part of the whole episode was definitely her 'trying' to stop Sookie. She's hilarious.

Thanks, lightandmagic. I'm gonna watch them anyway, but I will bear what you said in mind and will keep going after the first 6 if they're awful. So I'm in the middle of beginning it, now! I'm Cali-born and raised but my roots are in Louisiana and I'm pleased to so no rediculous representations of the culture. I think Tara is my fav right now.
Oh, and Sam's character reminds me of Ryoga from Ranma 1/2. They both have crushes on the lead female characters, they both change into animals and watch over the female leads in that form, and they both don't stnd a chance romantically :/

LMAO at the Snoop video. He is a rapper that needs to retire. Anyway I thought the opener was descent. I surprisingly thought the Bill and Sam dream was really hot! Eric looked so darn good. You gotta love Pam and Lafayette. I'm also kind of getting tired of Tara. Which really sucks cause I liked her in season one. Oh and poor Jason.

OK, I love the Snoop video. I'm sure he got paid by HBO to do that.
Anyway, loved the second ep of the season. I really am loving Lafayette right now and how he put Tara back on track.
Funniest moment: Sookie saying (Imiating Bill) "Sssookie..."

Not a big fan.
Not really a small fan either. Probably I would like it if I hadn't read the books. As it is, so far the plot appears to be nothing like the book, and it is really annoying me. I didn't really care when season 2 deviated, because it kept to the spirit of the story, if not the letter. Season 3 seems like it is going way out into left field. Probably I would like it if Sookie wasn't going to try to marry Bill.
I'll try to keep watching. I love Eric. And I also love Pam. She's awesome, and I'm glad she got bumped up in importance, because the woman who portrays her is perfect. If nothing else, those two should keep me going.
Edit- Episode two appears to be a vast improvement. Russel Edgington's presence is reassuring. Perhaps the Bill story arc will go close to the book. Just so long as the ending stays the same I'll be happy.
Really sick of Tara. And all this aftermath of Eggs. He was so not worthy of all this crap that's happening in his honor. I guess he was a person, and they should feel guilty about his death, but really. As much as I would not miss Tara, it's stupid that she tried to commit suicide over it. His should have been a guilt-free death in my opinion.
I find that I'm feeling annoyed with Sookie as well. I think it's mostly because she is so freaking obsessed with finding Bill. And I just really, thoroughly despise him. I hope she gets over him soon.
Also, does anybody else love Terry Bellefleur? I think he's fantastic.

I absolutely love the way werewolves are being portrayed on the new season of True Blood. They look truly fantastic, and as I believe werewolves are supposed to be. This season as a whole is a bit boring, but I'm sure things will begin to move faster soon. I'm not pleased with what happened to Lorena at the end of the newest episode. I hope to God that she survives. I'm sorry, but somebody that beautiful deserves to live forever. She's truly drool-worthy.

Elenasaur, I'm having the exact same problem this season. I have to keep telling myself this isn't the book and they are going to make some "creative" changes. But then something happens and I think, "Wait, that's not right!!" But hopefully once it really gets into the season that will change and I will be happy with the direction the show is going.
I do like the fact they are using real wolves for the werewolves instead of CGI or overdoing the whole shifting process. That is a nice touch.
So, I am trying to keep an open mind about the show because I really have enjoyed it so far. The first two seasons were really great and the differences between the show and books wasn't annoying, so that was a plus. So, hopefully I will still love the third season as well.

I still can't decide whether this season is any good or not.
However, I am enjoying the sort-of villains so far. Lorena, Franklin Mott, and Russel Edgington are intriguing. The thing I like about most vampires in this show is that they are straight-forward about their intentions. And their intentions are generally not too good.
Probably that's why I dislike Bill. He's always trying to pretend he's good. Pft.
Alcide was a good pick, I think. Very cute.
All in all, I'm feeling pretty excited for next week.

I don't think Bill's ever pretended to be good. He is a vampire who's done bad things (and will continue to), that is trying to "mainstream" and act accordingly because he's in love with a human.
I love what this season is doing to Bill. I've always found him interesting, if not that exciting. This season is making him interesting and exciting. He's been an absolute badass (much more so than Eric this season), and this storyline with the Mississippi King is fast becoming one of my favorites from the show.
