I fully agree with Wyndam in regards to Bill's current direction. It is far more potent than where the character had been previously, that is to say almost exclusively, I feel, trapped in shipper's limbo.
That ending though was bizarre and hard to watch, and I am not usually queasy. I do hope there are dire consequences to Bill's actions and I am excited to see how far the writers will go.
I really do want to see more of Sookie's powers this season. I absolutely loved the tease that Ball gave us towards the end of Season Two, and I want to see where it all leads.
Jessica and Pam are my favorites at the moment. They are both on point in every scene and have me constantly wanting to see more of them.

Alcide turned out to be a lot hotter than I imagined him being when I read the books. Wow. Good casting choice there.
And yes, the "Sssookie" was hilarious. I think I am warming up to this season a bit more as it goes on and I'm interested in seeing the direction its taking with some characters that may be different from the books.
And yes, that last sex scene was . . . interesting to say the least. Very grotesque, in a "I can't look away" sort of way.

I actually didn't really enjoy the newest episode. :/ It was alright, but just... Not my thing? Everything felt pointless, or just weird. I do have one thing to say... Poor Pam!

Bad Blood (3x01).
I loved the season three premiere. I was kind of surprised that werewolves were responsible for Bill's kidnapping. I was so sure it was another vampire since the person who wrapped the silver chain around Bill's throat in Beyond Here Lies Nothin' was wearing gloves (protecting the “vampire” from silver). I absolutely loved Pam's scenes, especially her trying to stop Sookie from going down in the basement. lol. Speaking of Pam and Sookie, I was surprised Sookie let her into her house so easily. It was great seeing the Magister and Sophie-Anne again. I'll be honest, I jumped when Sophie-Anne sprung on Eric. lol. She is such a bad liar, you'd think she'd be better. Oh well. I couldn't stop laughing during Sam's dream sequence. “I hear the water in Arkansas is… very hard.” It sounds like a line from a bad porno. lol. I can't wait to see how this season plays out.

Tonight's episode was outstanding. The best so far, this season.
Things are finally getting as amazing as they should. The only plot that isn't as interesting as others is the plot(s) involving Jason, IMO.

Superb. True Blood continues to solidify itself as practically a beacon of hope for smart, character-driven genre series on television.
Anyone else catch the Buffy Season 2 shout out?

I'm just now watching it and the opener alone was freaking awesome. I think I'm liking Bill. Of course it will never trump my love for Eric. I can't wait to hear the Buffy shout out.
Edit - Just saw it. I have to go back to watch Buffy though. How sick was the the scene when Tara bit Franklin and smashed his head. She actually redeem herself a little bit in this episode. I actually felt really bad for Lorena and was hoping for a flashback. Oh well the ending was awesome. By the way you gotta love Sookie's imitations.

I don't know if its because I've read and love the books or what, but I'm having a really hard time getting into certain aspects of this season, because so much stuff is different. There were differences last season but they didn't bug me as much as these do. I'm trying to remind myself that there will be differences because they are two different forms of media and some creative liberties will be taken by HBO. I just can't stop myself from wondering what Charlaine Harris thinks of some of these changes. And I can't stop myself from criticizing certain things. I am really trying not to, but its so hard.
I will say that it has gotten a lot more interesting since the season started. And I am hoping it will really grab me here soon.

I just have to say this after watching the opening of Hitting the Ground. The guys at True blood have the best most disgusting blood ever.

I was dissapointed with the portrayal of Claudine. I was so looking forward to Claude and Claudine in the series. Tall dark and sexy as all get out. Not the dreamy sequence that reminded me of a SNG episode on planet Rysa.
Except for that - I love it. Even though it has veered away from the novels. It still tells a great story.
I wonder if we will lose Mr. Cataliades and Diantha? I so enjoy them too.

I liked the last episode! I thought the dream sequence seemed out of place, but I'm sure I'll be proved wrong. Tara kicked so much ass. I'm loving her as much as I did in S1. Lorena... NO! I loved her, in an odd, wrong way. Her scenes with Bill were so interesting.

I know, Sage. I love them too. I really hope they make it into the series.
I am liking it a bit better as the weeks go by. Though I will say that Debbie is a bit more "white-trash" than I invisioned her being from the books.

So, does anyone think that this is the best season so far? The worst?
I'd say it's my least favorite so far. I really like it, and enjoy it, but it's not as good as the last two. Plus, IDK if anything can top S1, in the days to come.

It's hard to say. True Blood is a hard show to judge, season by season (especially when one is only half over). The quality of each individual episodes rarely shift much. I have a feeling the last half of Season 3 will be pretty good, so we'll see.

Has anyone else read the first True Blood comic issue? I thought it was pretty decent. ^_^
