I wanted to watch season 1 but never got around to it. The series did well so I may rent the first season before season 2 starts.

I reccomend it It didn't have a huge budget so it's a little shy of the like of Terminator 2 etc but I still found it to be quite entertaining and worth watching! Who am I kidding...I loved it hehe ;D

I absolutely love this show. I watched one or two episodes when it was on television, but after watching Firefly and becoming a fan of Summer Glau I watched the entire first season in two days.
I really didn't think Terminator would do well as a show, but it has surprised me and it's an interesting take on the series. Not all of it is action, so it relies heavily on the story and script (and succeeds, in my opinion). Of course, I couldn't take this new Sarah Connor seriously because she's not as "tough looking," but she's growing on me.
Can't wait for the new season to start!

I felt the same way about Lena Headey as Sarah Connor. I was thinking "Who are they trying to kid?" I mean nobody would be able to replace Linda Hamilton. But I have to admit,Lena has both surprised and impressed me. Her preformance in 300 was amazing too. Yeah, she is growing on me too. She brings something to the character that I like. Perhaps the bad cooking skills lol?

LOL!! You won't have to come looking for me...I plan on watching the premiere tonight. I'm excited...it seems lately there are so few TV shows that I enjoy watching, but this has made it onto my list. I have a feeling Season 2 will be even better than the 1st.

I love the pose that Sarah is doing on that cover. I do wish that Summer was on it though. Kind of odd that she isn't, considering she is a main draw to the show. I agree, Summer and Cameron are a huge part of the show and I think all three actors you have made it onto the cover.

I'm excited for the premiere as well. The first season surprised everyone, it seems. It really manages to capture the tone and consistency of the movies very well.

MAJOR SEASON PREMIERE SPOILERS!
Best episode yet, no question. I think it's safe to say that this is one of the greatest things on television this season, probably even the most human. Great stuff.
Summer, Summer, Summer... I'm man enough to say that she had me crying like a baby. That was an amazing performance. I'm looking forward to seeing what's next between Cameron and John. It was pretty obvious she wasn't going to die, but it was still extremely suspenseful.
Lena Heady was great this episode too. There were moments in Season 1 where her performance was cringe worthy, but the scene where she is talking to John outside the door was perfect. She still can't be compared to Linda Hamilton, but she's making the character her own.
John's taking control, this is good. Did he kill Sarkissian? I'm excited to see his character grow even more, become a leader.
Shirley Manson as Catherine Weaver is so cool. I love evil hott chicks. So she has The Turk. And what a f*cking ending! She's a T-1000!!! Or possibly an upgraded model. Holy hell!
Cromartie still wont kill Ellision. Hmm....
I'm praying for high ratings, this was just absolutely incredible. It's easy to tell this is going to be a lot better than Season 1: more action, more story, more characters, more development and better effects.

I am filled with excitement for the second season now. The beginning kind of started out weird with that song (was it Garbage/Shirley Manson? I recognized the voice) playing and the slow motion action, but it quickly picked up thereafter.
The "Cameron gone bad" story was awesome, and it was a little sad, too. I love her! I don't care if she's a robot! I remember reading in this week's TV Guide about the new season and one of the producers said Cameron wasn't going to be "evolving." But... I have my doubts. Anyone else think she is becoming more human and what the producer said is supposed to lead us off? Or maybe not. Your ideas?
Shirley Manson's character was intriguing, until the end. And then I screamed "OH (INSERT CHOICE OF PROFANITY)!!!"
Such an awesome show.

I agree with you both, the season premiere was freaking awesome!! The beginning was kind of weird with all the slow motion and music but I see now it was done that way to create a little mystery about who killed Sarkissian. I really think John was the one who did it...that would explain his shift in attitude and his need to start taking control.
The scene with Cameron trying to talk John out of pulling the chip out. Wow, she was probably playing him to keep him from killing her, but darn if I wasn't moved. A very powerful moment. Poor John, it's totally obvious that he has grown deep feelings for Cameron.
Biggest WTF moment was the end with the red headed chick revealing she's a T-1000. I didn't see that coming. Looks like Cromartie either has a new ally or some tough competition.
What did you all think about the promo for next week? Looks like another great episode.

Yep, agreed--best episode yet (I still love "The Demon Hand", tho). The callback to T1 was very cool, with two humans on the run from a (limping) terminator. And did my eyes deceive me, or in the shot right after Cameron steps on Sarah's wound, did I see the Sixth Street Bridge behind them (where Robert Patrick first appeared in T2)?
I was completely surprised by the ending... which makes me pretty dumb, actually, because I knew there was going to be a T-1000 (or something similar this season), and knew that Shirley Manson was the only major addition to the cast, yet I never put 2 and 2 together...

No, not yet. The season premiere received a lot of popular buzz, so I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a bump in those numbers next week. Plus the show was picked up for a full season, and I don't see that getting dumped.

I think the mistake that this person in the linked-to post made is getting down on it by comparing the S2 premiere to the S1 premiere, which got ridiculously-high ratings (the NFC Championship Game serving as the lead-in for the pilot certainly didn't hurt). The numbers dropped way off almost immediately (guess a lot people tried one ep and decided it wasn't for them), and as I remember, the ratings it got for most of the rest of S1 were pretty comparable to what it got last night. I don't watch "Bones" or "Prison Break", but I believe that both those shows get ratings that are fairly similar to this, and they've both been on, what, 3-4 years now?

Well the rating is an all time low for the show. Season 1 never dropped below 7 million viewers. But the premiere WAS up against Monday Night Football, maybe that's a reason why it was so low. It will probably drop even lower next week now that it'll go up against the travesty that is Dancing with the Stars.

Going up against sports is pretty tough though. Fox put Firefly up against baseball I think and look what happened. It wasn't the only factor but it was a biggun. Hopefully they don't kill the show before they explore the whole Terminators are people too plot they started.

I'm not worried...yet. I mean 6.34 isn't as high as it should be, but the show did make #2 place in the ratings. Football & Deal or No Deal are big audience draws, I think Terminator did extremely well considering it's competition.
