Haha, yeah. Or when Dwight catches the bat by putting a garbage bag over her head?

That was a pretty funny moment, too. Wasn't that in one of Joss's episodes?

Yeah, I think Joss did direct that one. It was business school, right?

Hold on, I'll look it up.
Yeah that was it. I always think they are two different episodes, but the other one Joss directed was "Branch Wars". Both are pretty funny.

I thought both episodes were really good. That's Joss for you I guess. =P I miss Jim playing pranks on Dwight all the time before he was promoted to co-manager. The desk bit was sort of refreshing, because it was like a look back at earlier seasons. The Jim was bit by the bat and may be turning into a vampire prank was hilarious though. I need to go back and re-watch.

I just plain hated Jim as co-manager. I think it just plain messed up the natural order of things, lol. I wonder, do you think the writers new they were going to demote him when they originally promoted him? I kind of got the feeling they meant it to be permanent until they realized everyone hated it.
I think I'm gonna go back and rewatch that episode next, too. Jim and Dwight have some funny moments in that episode, but it's Karen's delivery during the scenes when pretending Jim is afflicted with the weaknesses of a vampire that make the episode for me.
Also, how do you feel about Jim / John Krasinski? Sure, he has his funny moments, but he has always bugged me in serious scenes. Is that just me?

I feel like they meant for it to be a legitimate promotion until they realized that Jim as co-manager just didn't work. What bugged me most about it was that in (I think) the first season, Jim says that he would throw himself in front of a train if Dunder Mifflin became his career. I know he's changed, become more responsible, and I don't want him to kill himself, but I still miss the old Jim.
Oh, I hate Karen. Well, it's more that I hate Jim and Karen as a couple. But I definitely agree that she was funny in that episode. (Fun fact: She played a Karen way back in '99 on Freaks and Geeks. Not that anyone watches Freaks and Geeks besides me.)
I like Jim/John Krasinski. It depends on what kind of serious the scene is. If it is a scene about how he is seriously in love with Pam, then I disagree, because he is very believable at being in love with Pam.. If it's outside that, I know what you mean. It's almost like he can't believe he has to be serious. He gives the camera that frustrated are-you-kidding-me kind of glance.

I agree with missing the old Jim. The worst part is, the reason he got that promotion is because he went to Wallace for a job at corporate, which would've been even worse than his co-manger position.
I never liked Karen and Jim together much, but I never hated her. I didn't like it when she called Pam a bitch, though. It was a really catty and unnecessary remark. I suppose it showed how uncomfortable she was with Jim and Pam's close friendship, but it just made her look bad.
I've heard such good things about Freaks and Geeks. I'll have to Netflix it sometime.
Even in PB&J scenes, I never liked John Krasinski serious. It's not that I don't believe he (Jim) is in love with Pam. To me, he just has a somewhat cheesy quality that comes out in a bad way during serious scenes.
Lol, I just got a weird thought. What if John Krasinski and Jane Krakowski (Jenna on 30 Rock) got married and decided to be known as John Krasinski-Krakowski and Jane Krasinski-Krakowski? I know, random thought, but I sometimes get their last names confused, so it just popped into my head, lol.

It would be super funny if they became John and Jane Krasinski-Krakowski. Imagine their kids on the first day of school. While the names are easy to sound out if you actually try, I'm sure at least 90% of the teachers would get it wrong.
Jim does have certain cheesy aspects about him. But sometimes he's really sweet. I think that's why people like him. His gestures are not on the romantic-comedy scale of grandness, but they still make the ladies smile.
It's not that I hate Karen. Hate is a very strong word, which I use much more often than I actually mean it. But she was a bit bitchy to Pam. And she was a bit of an interloper, going to Scranton and being the girl who gets to flirt with Jim all the time. It messed with the cosmic balance.
Ugh, I shudder at the thought of corporate Jim. However, if that had happened, Jim would have lost his job when Dunder Mifflin went down, and he would have been able to find a less ridiculous and mundane job to suit him better. (Well, he might not get hired in this job market actually...)
I totally recommend Freaks and Geeks. It's one of my top 10 favorite shows.
Also, a character I always thought was kind of underrated was Roy. I'm a big PB&J shipper, but I always had a soft spot for Roy. He was pretty easy going about Jim having a crush on Pam, and I think he tried to change after Pam called off the wedding.

Freaks and Geeks is really that good? That makes me want to see it even more. I know they can't say or show the same kind of stuff, but does it have the same kind of humor as Judd Apatow's movies? Lol, they should name their kids Kelly and Kenneth, Kelly Krasinski-Krakowski and Kenneth Krasinski-Krakowski. Those would be the worst names ever. Yeah, he could be sweet sometimes, I suppose. I always sort of felt bad for Karen. I don't think she was expecting someone like Pam to be there when she decided to move to Scranton for Jim. True, Jim would've lost his job, but I get the feeling the only reason Sabre was introduced was to get Jo in there to demote Jim. Besides, it would wreak havoc on the PB&J relationship. Roy was pretty cool. I always loved the little crush Angela seemed to have on him. And I also think he tried to change, but he think it became kind of obvious he didn't when he trashed Poor Richard's.

Well, it wasn't good enough to last more than one season, but I still like it. Of course, I foment obsessions pretty easily, so my opinion may be way off from everyone else's. I like it a lot though. I feel like it is Judd Apatow's humor minus the raunchiness that some of his movies have going on.
KKK much? Heh, those would be pretty terrible names to end up with.
That's true. I can understand it from her perspective. She meets this cute, nice guy at work, and then she moves to his old town and realizes that there was someone else who held his affections earlier, and pretty much still. Awkward and sucky just about sums it up.
Yeah, imagine if Jim ended up like David Wallace. I don't think Pam would have any of that. Their relationship wouldn't benefit from the ongoing stress and irritation...
Oh, yeah, that was so funny. It made Angela seem less severe. I feel like Roy's anger was understandable, even if he did act it out a bit too violently.
I just watched Beach Games, which I love because of Pam's speech. I love that after all the tip-toeing, and the awkwardness, and just pretending that nothing had happened really mattered, she just found the guts to be brutally honest. It was another side of Pam, and I like it a lot.

Oh my gosh. I totally didn't mean for it to come out as "KKK". Well, I mean, I thought it would be funny if they had all three initials the same letter which happened to be K's, but I didn't think of it as "KKK"...
I'm not racist.
You like Pam's speech in Beach Games? That scene has always been painful for me to watch. It's just so awkward and embarrassing.
Do you ever miss Pam's old hair style, the one she always had before getting together with Jim? Jenna Fischer looks so much better with the newer hair style, but the old one fit with her personality more. Well, before her personality changed so much.

Haha, no worries. I didn't think you were racist for it. Besides, their middle name would have thrown it off.
It's not that I think it's a good speech, I just think that it was something that needed to be said. I understand how it is to watch your best friend rapidly become a practical stranger, so I think it was really courageous of her to just take on the embarrassment for something that she cared about. It was awkward, but at least she was forthright and honest.
I do miss her old hairstyle. She's prettier now, but I don't think that nice hair is really what Pam is there for. This is the tv show about [relatively] normal people, not shampoo commercial-worthy women.

Hopefully they'd have good middle names. They would be the only things going for those poor kids, lol.
I have to admit, it certainly was brave of her, but it's just sooo the wrong place and sooo the wrong time. I can't help but cringe a little when watching it.
I agree. In fact everyone's hair has changed in the six years the show has been on. Jim's has gotten longer and ugly, in my opinion. Michael apparently got hair plugs sometime before season two. Kelly, well, pretty much everything about her is different from her season one and two appearances.
I wish Toby was in the newer episodes more. He's one of my favorite characters. I've always known Jim and Pam were going to end up together, just like every other fan, but there was a small part of me that always wanted Toby and Pam to get together.

Michael's hair definitely did get better after the first season. I feel like after the first season they realized the show had a shot, so they started making people a little prettier in order to hold viewer's attention. Jim's haircut.. I don't know. It kind of signifies corporate Jim, but I don't hate it. I'm not a big fan of the shaggy bowl cut thing he had going on before (on any guy), so that could be the reason that I'm okay with the new hair.
I kind of like Toby. I got irritated with him after he sort of came onto Pam with everyone there, but I feel bad for him. Michael is a total asshole to him, and he just takes it. He's a very subdued fellow, but I find it entertaining.

I actually liked his hair in the first two or three seasons, but after that he keeps it longer and it just looks too messy.
You were irritated with that scene? I thought that was sad. I felt so bad for Toby. Michael is pretty funny when he's being mean to him, though. I think its in early season two where Michael says "Toby is from HR, so he's not really part of our family. Toby is also divorced, so he's not really part of his family either." That's probably one of my favorite Michael moments.

Well, I felt bad for Toby and everything, but I was still annoyed. I thought it was funny that instead of staying and waiting he decided to just hop the fence and run away. And that was a really funny Michael moment, but it was a little cruel. So was making Toby stay back on beach day.
I'm not a fan of the messy look, but whatever he's doing now is more coiffed, and kind of okay. Though I don't think it's really his style.

That was really cruel of Michael, but it was pretty funny.
I wish Jan would come back. Maybe she could get a job with Sabre and be Michael's boss again!

It would have been a lot crueler if Toby had actually heard the comment. So it was mostly funny.
Jan? She was kind of insane. I think that Michael might have made her that way though.. I just watched the episode when she came back with new boobs, and she was hilariously desperate. Such a dysfunctional relationship... I think she might be a dominatrix. The part of me that actually wants Michael to be happy wishes that Holly would come back. She was nice. And relatively normal, while still being on Michael's wavelength.

I agree that Michael and Holly make a much better couple than Michael and Jan, but the latter are so much more entertaining. I think I'd want him to end up with Holly, but in the meantime I think they should bring Jan back into the mix.
