The other day my boss told me about a new show called Being Human, it's about a vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost who all share a flat in England. The ridiculous concept instantly charmed me, so I went and watched it on BBC iPlayer. It was a fun supernatural drama with strong characterisation and some emotional moments. You'll be happy to hear that it's a million times better than the abysbal Demons. The geeky werewolf character is extremely endearing, while the ghost is genuinely tragic. I'm less keen on the vampire mythology, but I'll give it a chance. It's hard to judge the show based on just one episode, but it's got my attention and I'm going to keep watching. Thought I'd post something about it here since I only heard about it from word-of-mouth and others might appreciate the same. www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00hb49h/Being_Human_Series_1_Episode_1/ - Episode 1 at BBC iPlayer (not sure if this works outside the UK) www.bbc.co.uk/beinghuman/ - Official website en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Being_Human_(TV_series) - Wikipedia page

It sounds interesting but I clicked the player and it says you have to live in the UK to view it.

I saw the first episode (at least I think it was) on youtube.com. Pretty cool, I must say. Although I'm not fond of seeing George's "cheeks" in every other scene.
EDIT: My bad, it was the pilot episode that I watched.

I've watched 2 episodes now and i'm already hooked! Although it does seem lighthearted on the exterior each characters tragic "affliction" is really examined in a suprisingly serious way. also its got some decent werewolf effects for such a small budget show. the only thing im dissapointed about is that its only a six episode series . For all you American people that are interested keep an eye out on BBC america because im sure it will be making its way on to there very shortly.

I'm about to post a new thread with a series Josh and I are making... It has a similar premise, but it's gonna be hilarious.

Also if we get American viewers on board when it views there we will get a stronger chance of not only getting a second series but a longer one at that! I NEED this series to continue its one of the only decent supernatural dramas to appear on Bristish and overseas television in ages! (and i will not let it go down the pan like Hex did LOL) P.S. if we support this, the terrible British series "Demons" might collapse!!!! Seriously its like a demons Doctor Who and it just does not work!

This show does work, from writing to cast its spot on. I honestly forsee at least 3 series being made (quite a success nowadays!) It obviously has no budget but clever directors. loves it!!!!!!!!!

Just watched the first episode yesterday - I torrented it. I thought it was great! I was expecting it to be mostly comedy-focussed, but while it did have some funny moments, I was surprised by how intense it all was. The actors really pulled all the stops out when it came to emotional scenes. I was very impressed and shall keep watching.

I've seen all 6 episodes now and give it thumbs up overall. The villain is very cool and deserved his place in the top 50 screen vampires from the recent SFX issue - he comes higher than the good vampire and deservedly so. I'll certainly watch the second series, any ideas when it's due?

A friend of mine coerced me into watching the pilot (in the wake of Twilight I wasn't too enthusiastic about a new vampire/werewolf endeavor) but I really liked it! Haven't seen an episode since, unfortunately, but I'm hoping to borrow them off her the next time we catch up.
People should definitely give this one a chance. It's a little predictable, but still fun.
