i loved this episode. I agree that the warblers were kind of downers and kurt should still be with the new directions. i did however like theri singing of train's soul sister, for some reason i love that song and i have never been a train fan. brittni really is as dumb as she looks and it looked like next episode she still believes in santa!! and for rachel and finn what? i didnt see that coming.

It was a great episode! But I agree that The Warblers are a lifeless waist of screen time....so far. I like whats-his-face...Kurt's almost-bf. He has a great voice and is super cute so lets just keep him and get rid of the rest...maybe he can come back to public school with Kurt and join the Glee club. I want him to stick around but I couldn't care less about the rest of the Warblers!

Loved this episode! So good. The only problem was Blaine and the other kids at that school. I agree that they're really lifeless. Even their song choice was lazy. "Hey, Soul Sister"? Really? I hate that song so much.
Kurt annoyed me less than usual this episode.
I love Brittany/Artie! She was so sweet this episode (like usual) and I'm actually starting to like Artie now. If they break up I'm gonna murder someone.
Rachel finally getting some actual scenes was longer over due. I hate that she and Finn broke up, though. I find their relationship really boring, so I'd rather them just stay together rather than have to bear their inevitable reunion in the future.
I love Lauren Zizes. I think I ship her and Puck. Wonder if she's even gonna sing...
Sam was cute. <3

I forgot to mention the Sam/Quinn duet! How epic was that?!? I loved the way they started at the back of the theater, just like in Dirty Dancing! And their vocals were incredible!

I am not loving the character Sam so much lately but he is growing on me with his VOICE! His parts in the Free Your Mind/Stop In The Name Of Love mash up are my favorite male vocals of the season so far! And he definitely impressed tonight!!
Still though, I think my favorite song so far this season has to be the Umbrella/Singing in the Rain mash up!
But then I JUST remembered Rachel's rendition of Don't Cry For Me Argentina! <3 I DIE <3

Pretty good episode. Rachel ALMOST made it to the end as a human being with feelings, moral dilemmas, and everything! Also, very self-referential episode. I'm glad they at least KNOW there's a problem with the show.
Christmas episode... not thrilled.

I always looks at Glee eps in two parts (as many people do): The music and the rest. For me, the rest was pretty good. Rachel kind of got put in her place (Mr. Shue yelled a lot this ep!), I enjoyed the Artie/Brittany moments (her character is getting more depth), and really like Puck in this episode as well. As for the music, not impressed this time around. The highlight for me was probably the Hipsters; their rendition of "The Living Years" was pretty awesome. Besides that, the songs were yawn-worthy in my book. How can people sing a song called "Hey Soul Sister" without any Soul? Oh wait, I guess Train did it too... Also, "Time of My Life" with the world's most boring couple? I kind of agree with Finn-taking out the star quarterback in the championship is not a good idea.
I gotta disagree with the Sam love. I find him to be both a bland singer (Auto Tune much?) and a boring character. He did gain some ground with me last week, when he stood up for Kurt the way he did. I would like to see more of that Sam and less of Squinn.

I think the great song choices counter-balance the two stinkers. "Dog Days Are Over" was inspired and fun, and "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" may have made me tear up a bit as I was singing it. MAYBE.
I do think we need to put down "Hey Soul Sister" permanently. It was in a commercial break AFTER IT WAS PERFORMED ON THE SHOW. IT'S OVER, AMERICA. MOVE ON.

This was a good episode. Like to the point where no character or writing annoyed me. So glad the writers finally realized that their show has a helluva lot of problems and they're acknowledging them and trying to fix them.
First thing, so glad they gave the other characters the main singing roles. By mid season 1 I was annoyed how like every song was Rachel with Finn, and an occasional Puck or Kurt with all the other characters just relegated to the background. They've got a lot of talented people in this show and I want to hear their voices more. It especially annoyed me because Finn often acts like he has one of the best voices when, at least in my opinion, his is by far the weakest of the whole choir minus Mike Chang.
I found the Sam and Quinn duet a bit dull unfortunately, but Quinn sounded gorgeous in it. They really need to use her more because while all of the other females seem to lean towards powerful voices, she has a really nice sultry voice that no other character has.
The Santana solo mixed with the Brittany and Mike dancing was just amazing. It took them long enough to use Heather's dancing skills, I mean the whole reason she got on the show was by coming by to teach the gang the Single Ladies dance cause she used to be a backup dancer for Beyonce. But until now they hadn't really used her dancing too much, so this was a good remedy.
Agreeing with Wyndham and others about the Warblers though. They are like Grade-A bland. And this weird focus on teamwork, along with their blandness seems cult-ish, like I actually would not be surprised if they sacrificed animals and the reason why they're bland is to cover up the cult and they're trying to rope Kurt in. Blaine is still a bit too Supergay to the rescue! Which sucks cause I really want to like his character cause of Darren Criss but he just doesn't have tons going on for him.
Also Emma was awesome in this episode. She called Will out on his repetitive stage performances. And her counselling session with Rachel and Finn was hilarious. "Maybe try storming out?" I've never disliked her character before, but I never really liked her that much, but this episode I just thought she was amazing. I think she rushed into the marriage with Carl, but I really don't want her with Will. His adoration of her is frankly creepy, not as much in this episode, but in earlier in the season he was just so off-putting. The fact she still talks to him is pretty big of her.
Santana was deliciously bitchy/evil. I mean she was horribly mean to Rachel and for some reason I still love her. I think it's cause in general I just love bitches though.
Overall though! No complaints really! Finally! I think it's the first episode all season where I can say I have no real issues or problems with the episode other than a few minor quibbles that are more personal taste rather than me actually seeing a genuine problem with the show. Maybe there's hope for Glee season 2 if they keep up this streak of good episodes.

Can I just say that I'm in love with Rachel/Puck all over again? ;D Loved them when they first got together, and they were just as great this time around. Puck backing out of sexing Rachel was a great character moment. More, please. I feel bad for Finn, but really... I just don't care about his relationship with Rachel; They have their moments, but nothing lovable IMO. Loved the episode. I had to watch, having still not seen the one before. Will be viewing episode 8 right after posting this. Sam and Quinn's duet was beautiful. Both of their voices were top notch.

I'm okay with Quinn's voice. It has a nice silvery, kinda playful, Marilyn Monroe-ish sex kitten vibe to it. But Sam... *head to the bloody desk repeatedly*. I hate his cheesiness. I mean, it's like potato au gratin with an overload of the orange cheddar stuff. I mean, when did personality have to match hair color? And I used to think he had a decent singing voice (though, I HATED his song choices), but watching this latest ep made me want to throw a bowl of mac and cheese at my $700 TV. Enough with the damn autotune already. They've officially slaughtered, butchered, and possibly whipped the entrails of autotune into a pinkish froth.
I can't stand Finn's voice, but even I have to agree with his quarterback analogy. And anything would probably have been more thrilling than watching that performance of "Time of My Life". Hell, I'll watch the Liza Minelli performance of "Single Ladies" from SatC 2 again over it.
Something about this ep just annoyed the hell out of me. I came through the entire thing only actually feeling for Rachel. Shocking. Sure she acted like an idiot, but I did love her interactions with Kurt, though I do agree with the Kurt overexposure. Their duet was quite moving, but again, that damn autotune! Maybe if they brought Kurt's register down a notch of two, he wouldn't sound quite as reedy and need quite as much modulation. Seriously.
And if I see one more "Asian *insert ridiculous non-racial activity here*" moment, I'm officially signing a petition against that crap. It's as stupid as the whole "gay scuba diving" ads that facebook keeps informing me about.

I had to pop in my Dirty Dancing DVD after Quinn and Sam's duet. I must say that even though I kind of adore Sam he has absolutely no rhythm. He may be worse than Finn. Sam little Michael Jackson dance was adorkable. I'm kind of torn between Rachel/Finn and Puck/Rachel. It was sad to see them break up but obvious it was coming cause of Santana bringing it up in the previous episode. I didn't however know it was going to be so soon. Rachel and Puck was kind of obvious cause of the whole working out comment. I am however glad Puck didn't go too far this time. I'm happy Mike and Brittany got to shine and I'm really liking Brittany and Artie. I must also say that love Santana's version of Valerie and Santana herself. I love how she mentioned Emma married the finest dentist alive. LMAO! That's just what Will wanted to hear.
