BTW: Neither one of my awesomely cute kittens are in the room right now so I guess the vid will be of me. I apologize in advance that I look terrible but I am pretty sick currently (not with a cold so my voice is normal) and of course when you are at home sick there is no reason to try to be cute... right there with ya.

Okay guys here is the new and hopefully more accurate accent! Let me know if you can tell a difference. www.youtube.com/watch?v=FT9bOSMeYXEPS- I think the vid loses sync towards the end but I didn't notice until it was already up on youtube so I decided not to re-record.

Oh wow!! This is so great that you decided to read the text I gave you! Did you check the website? You can go search millions of people from all around the world and see how they all pronounce the same text with different accents. It's pretty awesome. You do sound kind of southern. It's the perfect accent though, probably one of my favorite. I wish I sounded like you! In a male way of course.

I can definitely hear your southern draw a little better here than in your previous vid. Thanks for sharing. Dragonweaver - Wow, talk about having an accent!! This is such an interesting recording. You sound like a Oklahoma person to me!! It's funny how people from the South almost sound British sometimes. I mean of course your accent is American, kinda Texan, but there's something Bristish about it at times, maybe the tone. Or is just me? Please post more recordings! You know I've never been told that and as far as I know I've never been to the UK, but I'll take your comment as a compliment. I wish I could sound British. Now that I've already posted one, I might add another video tomorrow. We'll see.

that's freakin' awesome. her Toronto one was a little off, i think. Her Toronto accent was SO off!!! But who am I to judge? My Boston accent was even more off. Nowhere close to be on. But she was great almost all along though.

There are so many things wrong with this video: 1. I had to use my crappy phone camera 2. I look dead as its too early in the morning ;D 3. For some reason I had the camera upside down. But finally here is my accent: www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIS08Nl96v8

Thanks for sharing Charmed One. If you have the time you should totally post another one. I'd love to hear more. It was funny how your camera was upside down and you wrote in earthquake. As for me, I decided to post another video for the heck of it. I used Matt's suggested text about Stella. Here it is: www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4D-_6WSFpw

Jen : Ahahaha, you are totally bashing me in your video and I love it. I think we should have a vote to see whose Boston accent they liked better. If I get 10% of the votes, I'll consider myself satisfied. Although, in my video I only singled out a few words. I'm thinking about making a new video with an extremely thick French accent but i would be really really ashamed to post in on Youtube.
Dragonweaver: Aww, this is awesome that everybody's reading the same text now. You have such an interesting accent. I don't know how to define it.
The Charmed One: More please! The Irish accent is one of the accents I am the less familiar with.

Ok, here's my third (and last?) video. I'm doing a very thick French accent in this one. I'm kinda mad at myslef because I feel like I could have done way worse than that, I could have stressed the "i"s more and stuff but oh well, that will do. Enjoy. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wN1uf0RcZmk

How come you found it harder to read it in French accent Just an observation Good question. Different explanations. Just imagine you spent years and years learning how to pronounce things in English (more or less) properly. You get used to the pronounciation and after a while it even comes out naturally. It's just the way you speak. Of course I probably keep improving over the years. It's a work in progress. Today I guess I don't talk exactly the way I would have talked two years ago. And maybe my English will sound differently two years from now. But my reference will always be the place where I first learned it, that is to say Toronto and Michigan in my case. That's why I'm having such a hard time imitating the Boston accent. To go back to having a very strong French accent is not easy because I have to read something in English and think French at the same time "pronounciation wise". Everything has to come out as wrong as possible (and I feel like I could have exagerated the accent even more). It's as hard for me as to read a text in French faking an American accent, maybe not as hard, but it's the same idea. It's very challenging for the brain. Besides, I'm not always quite sure how a French person would exactly pronounce some sounds any more because I've gotten used to hearing those sounds be pronounced correctly around me all the time. It's not like I'm in class with French students these days. So yeah, I don't know if that answered your question. Edit: Oh and again, I was really concentrating to do my worse, so that can explain the hesitation.

CHARMED ONE DO ANOTHER ONE! I am soooo attracted to you right now I have a thing for Irish accents, and YOU DO SO sound very irish - Don't worry I'm not coming onto you, just your voice!!! Thanks to everyone whos done a second LONGER video - was so great! JW you so cute and I love your accent still! Meliafairy! Awww very very southern in the 2nd clip, soo cool! Who else has posted I forget? Haha And Mat - I love how you can still do a think french accent! I CAN see how you don't think you're very french anymore, but yes you are! A lot of the words you still say frenchly, but you just annunciate better with your normal accent. For example: Store, came out as Stor, both times. I love it!
