I would love do do a dream. I think I said that before. Just choose a Whedonverse character and write about one of their dreams.

Yes! Dreams do sound fun!! Maybe we could make it sort of like restless though and no matter what you write the dream about everybody has to have one sentance where the cheeseman makes an appearance! Or not...I'm lame, I know! Lmao

I propose a challenge just to keep everyone's writing fingers fresh. Write a story with the line/phrase, "That's it. The red panties are the answer we have been looking for."

Hmm, I don't know about the dream fic. It wouldn't really have a hard enough core, would it? I hope people understand my point. Maybe we could do something where we choose any scene, and just write it in out? Like we could do any point of view, and just make it a lot of fun to read.

Okay, everyone it's time to start throwing your two cents in the ring for the prompt for the sixth challenge. What does everyone want to do for this next prompt?

Lengthy prose has been the focus of the past couple of rounds; wanna try a shorter form this time around?

How short are we talking here? Drabble (100 words) or a short ficlet (less than 500)?

Hey, everyone! So it seems like we want to do a shorter piece for this next round. What about the prompt for content? Does anyone have any ideas?
I'm going to try to have the next challenge set up and posted by tomorrow evening, so if anyone has a good idea here for what to do next, be sure to post. And I'll be taking a glance back through this thread at the other suggestions for prompts.

How about a short piece from the POV of a complete outsider/stranger about any one character. The challenge would be to convey the character in question without ever saying his/her name. Sounds easy enough, but there are so many ways to flub it by trying too hard.

Glad you like it. I think Emmie would definitely appreciate a few more ideas, either for this time around, or for future challenges. So keep 'em coming!

Oh, I love the idea of outsider perspective! That sounds brilliant. And yes to more ideas from everyone.

I think what would make a really strange and fun fic would be to write from the perspective of a historian (or perhaps future Watcher? ) writing about an important historical event from any of the universes' characters. For instance, someone writing about "The Battle of Sunnydale" (i.e. the events of Chosen) from the historian's far-off looking-through-a-lens perspective. It would still be in the realm of fiction, but historical-ish. *is a huge nerd*

I think we should do something about a minor character.

How about you write from the POV of a relatively unknown character? A minor character like say Vi from Season 7 is almost like an unknown. Very little is known about her.
Actually, if anyone wants to read a stellar example of minor character's POV illustrating something about main characters (or in this prompt's instance, perhaps the Buffyverse at large), I can point you to a very well-written fic by Lirazel that uses the POV's of the Potentials in Season 7 and how they saw the relationship between Buffy and Spike (outrage, disgust curiosity, fascination) - all through the POV's of Molly, Vi, Chao-Ahn, Rona, Kennedy and finally Faith.
I really do like the idea of using outsider perspective to illustrate one of the main facets of the Whedonverse, either a main character, a main relationship or dynamic, or even a setting that's well-known (Buffy's house somehow reflecting on Buffy herself, for example).
