Look, I knew this question was stupid before I started this thread. Here goes. I've watched the series probably twice completely. I was just thinking about Firefly and Serenity, mostly because of the Dollhouse renewal, and I had the most ridiculous question pop into my head. The movie was called "Serenity", the name of the ship. What in the heckers was "Firefly"? How was it incorporated into the show? I know they were basically space fugitives in a cowboy-way, but where did "Firefly" come into it? I know, I know, it's probably obvious to any browncoat, but I don't even own the set, so I can't watch it again to find out!!! Thanks in advance, be kind

Firefly was the kind of spaceship it Serenity was. It was a Firefly model.

The name of the show was actually one of the reasons it took me a while before I watched Firefly. I thought it sounded silly.
I know, I watch and love a show called Buffy the vampire slayer but think "Firefly" is weird.
I get why it's named that now and think it's cool, but back then...
