I think they did a pretty good job with the werewolves (althought I expected Jake's fur to be a few shades darker). It looked a tad cartoonish, but they can't make it completely realistic and perfect. I'm glad they made Taylor bulk up for this movie, because he looks soooooo sexy now Jake looks a lot better with shorter hair as well.

I love Twilight, but refuse to see the movies, and while I had hopes that I could enjoy the second, this trailer makes me think it won't be an improvement on the first.
In New Moon, Bella was quite sad the majority of the book. Emotionless. Blank. Heavy. Kristen Stewart's acting shouldn't be much a problem for this movie. That and the opening birthday scene (straight out of the book) are about the only good things I saw from the trailer.
What I didn't like already was obviously the wolf special effects. I understand it's not a high-production movie, but honestly, that's about the only special effect they had to get right in this movie... and it looks like unfinished CG. [Remember, the first director was dropped because she wanted more time to get the wolf-effect right.]
But aside from the CG, as others have already pointed out, we can already see that the movie will deviate from the book. It looked like Jacob's back porch was a stones throw away from the clearing that they had to hike in for miles to get to. Can anyone say wtf?
Agreed, Lautner is hot, but that won't make me see a movie that will tear the original book and my mental conception of the story itself apart.

I can understand you're disappointed but I think it's best not to have book page-by-page expectations. This movie MIGHT not be what you wanted, but you won't know until you see it. Personally, I try to eschew all my preconcieved thoughts and feelings for the book when I see the movie(s) and just enjoy them for what they are - a film, not a book (and therefore there will be some sacrifices and some gains). I didn't love the first movie, not by a long shot. But I did enjoy it! And I still love the book lots and lots. I don't like Kristen, I think her acting is a tad embarrassing to watch - but I still want to see some kind of twilight story told on the screen, because I enjoy the story (with or without the intracies of the book) and I think both the mediums have different things to offer me. I hope it exceeds you're expectatons Bec, but if it doesn't you will still have the books! Give it a try

I hope it exceeds you're expectatons Bec, but if it doesn't you will still have the books! Give it a try Honestly, I don't think I can. If the movies aren't true to the books, they confound my internal actualization of the story. While reading or listening to the books, I can see everything happening. I understand it's a fictional world, but intricacies are almost sacred. I don't expect movies to follow the books line by line, but they do need to capture it accurately. A good director and screen writer can do this, but from what I've seen so far, it'll make me more mad than entertain me. For instance: The Laurant scene was one of those pivotal scenes that could easily have been taken straight from the book instead of needlessly butchered: she goes to the clearing in search of Edward so that she can know that he was real and not imaginary, she sees Laurant who tells her (and sets up the next book's villain) that Victoria wants her dead, and she sees the wolves for the first time. Instead in the trailer we see Bella in a clearing, with Laurant (all good so far), but lo and behold, it's actually Jacob's back yard and she sees Jacob transform into a wolf before she even has a chance to be frightened by the wolves. Little things like that just irk me. Movie adaptations of books can be done well, as LOTR proved. However, more often than not, they aren't done in a manner true to the original work. Since The Other Boleyn Girl, I've come to the realization that I have to be pickier in my choice of movie adaptations to see. (It was entitled "The Other Boleyn Girl," yet the movie made more of a fuss over the historically infamous Anne than Mary, exactly opposite the point of the book. Didn't stray from the book much, but what they left out greatly detracted from Mary's story.) Sorry if this was a bit ranty, I was just hoping for an improvement between the first and second.

Personally for me the movie and book are almost completely different things. For instance I HATE bella in the book and in the movie I love her. The main reason for that is in the movie we don't hear all her stupid "OMG HE'Z SO HOT LIKE WOW." thoughts or her "I'm so ugly, why does he even like me" thoughts. Which totally turned me off of her character in the book. So much so that I don't even wanna reread the series again. Stephenie shoulda wrote it in a 3rd person perspective.

Agreed, Kara. If I had to guess, like half of the whole series is Bella thinking about how cute and hot her Eddie is. It gets a bit old.

Yeahhh, I'm pretty much hoping the movies continue to be not much like the books. Though I'm willing to give this one a chance, since New Moon was the best out of the series. Lotsa wolfies and little to no Eddykins? Sign me up!

Lotsa wolfies and little to no Eddykins? Sign me up! I'm not sure if we have talked about this yet but just so you know Iceeh because R. Pattz is such a money maker there will be much more of him in the movie then there was in the New Moon book. Rather than being a voice in her head, he will actually be an apparition that appears to Bella. Also, Rebecca I know how frustrating it can be when a story you love deviates strongly from the book but I am honestly glad they changed the Laurent scene. This book has very little action and instead of having the wolves kill Laurent off screen there will be a fight scene instead. Thus giving a nice visual to something that actually happened in the book. I am a big fan of this series and I was really not looking forward to this movie because the book focuses so much on relationship development and inner thoughts. These things are hard to transpose in a not cheesy way to the big screen. I think the changes that have been reported so far still keep the essence of the book but give us a little action so that the movie doesn't drag.

I agree meliafairy - you put it well. This was the most worrying for page-to-screen translation for me a well, it's a very BOOK-like book. Haha. And Rebecca I am sorry the movies disappoint you so much It would be nice if they pleased everyone but we all know that's not a possibility!

I probably might end up seeing this movie...simply because I'll be forced to. But that said, I didn't really mind the first movie. Hate the hype about the books, but the first movie wasn't too bad. So maybe this one will be alright...thought I'm wondering how wolf Jacob is gonna hold up against the powerful Laurant

LOL That is one of the funniest things I have seen in a while! Her squeals about the wolf were so great. Could you imagine being in the theater with her though? Every second, every scene change, every word of dialogue you would hear a squeal or a gasp or even incessant crying. LOL!

/\ That girl makes me want to kill her. Seriously, I get being so excited, but why make a video about it, freaking hell.
I'm excited, the trailer looks cool, and I like the look it's got. Should be a pretty movie, and hopefully a good one.

Okay, so I am a complete Twilight fan but was all of that reeeeaaalllyy necessary? The trailer is great. I think the bigger budget is really going to pay off. I am very excited to see this movie but.. That girl's reaction is completely ridiculous! I was embarrassed for her. She is exactly the type of fan that gives the rest of us such a bad name. Grrrrrr
