Cool! So Angel gets to keep the dragon! LOL neat.
I'm not feeling the art so much though...I wish Georges was doing it. I'll probably warm up to it in time.

I like the art. I much prefer it to Georges. One thing that I'm concerned about is why Angel can fly into the Sun without combusting? Maybe it is in another dimension. Also how did Angel talk to the dragon? Since when can dragons talk?

Question: Which girl did Wolfram & Hart kill that Angel talks about? The one that "opened his eyes".

I skimmed through it (didn't read it properly) and it looks pretty good. I think Angel's not burning cause the sun is setting. The moon is out as well. L.A looks terrible! I can't wait to get this.

Not bad, though they're still not showing us what happened to the angel gang.
I liked the tentacles coming out of the buildings. It looks like W&H did more than just sent a few demons to kill the fang gang, they've changed LA itself.
The artwork's not too bad, but then again the only regular character we can se is angel and he always wears the same clothes, so you'd have to be stupid not to recognise its him.

Also how did Angel talk to the dragon? Since when can dragons talk? I don't want to be the one to burst your bubble...but Dragons don't really exist. This kind of gives storytellers a lot of liberty when writing for them.

I am wondering if LA is actually in a hell dimension (explaining why Angel can go into the sunlight) or if they mean hell has been unleashed upon LA (more likely). I am assuming that the place angel is sending people to is where the rest of the survivors are held up (Gunn, Spike....assuming they survived) but I am starting to wonder if maybe Anne has set up a survivor camp. That seems like something she would do. I was thinking she would be a part of the series and that would be a great way to incorporate her into the fray.
As for the woman that Angel refers to as having been taken form him, I automatically assumed he meant that she had been killed and I then in turn assumed he was referring to Cordy. Now that I think of it, I really think he is talking about Buffy. He has to be referring to the fact that he was forced to give up his Shanshu and now will never be able to have Buffy (assuming that he really did give it up). As far as we know, he still thinks it was really Buffy he saw in Rome with the immortal. He thinks she has moved on. That could also explain why he so freely gave up the Shanshu...again, assuming that he actually did ( I like to think he fudged the deal by sining Angel instead of his full/birth name)!

Looks interesting. I really can't wait for this and to find out more about the story. Brian Lynch confirmed that the "girl" is Fred over at Whedonesque. I love Franco Urro's art and can't wait to see how he handles the rest of the characters.

I thought it was Fred that he was talking about. Buffy just didn't make sense, Wolfram and Hart didn't take her away, and Cordy's demise was due to Jasmine. That leaves Fred as the only girl that Wr&H would have taken from him. I think Angel really felt like he needed to protect her because he rescued her from Pylea, therefore her death would have really impacted him and he would see it as a direct result of him signing up with Wr&H.

I guess that it will be intresting to see Angel grieve for Fred. We didn't get too much of that in the show. I really would have prefered to be talking about Buffy but I guess that is just my wishful thinking because I am so obsessed with Bangel!

The Bangles? Angel isn't bursting into flames because the dragon is huge, and he's in its shadow. That's my theory anyway I can't wait to get this! Again I say, I'm glad Joss is continuing the Buffyverse in comic form, since there is no budget limitations like with a TV show or movie. That dragon is awesome. I'm glad it's on Angel's side, it looks like he's really going to need it! The "Hell on Earth" is a great idea. Reminds me of when Glory started to open the hell dimension on Earth back in "The Gift," with those Alien-esque creatures coming out of the walls and such. And hey, there was even a dragon... I wonder if this is the same dimension that W&H unleashed? I also wonder if it will ever be brought up in the Buffy comic? Like, "oh yeah, LA, it's kind of a bit too much for us to handle right now... sometime later!"

I'll pass. It doesn't have the same flare and style that caught me with Buffy... plus the cover kind of looks like a fail attempt on Jo Chen's stunning cover work.
Maybe I'll pick up the TPB... I dunno... But for sure won't be craving like I do Buffy.

Does anyone know if Joss will be contributing stories to this series? Also I hope if it's successful they add more issues. They're planning on 12 at the moment aren't they?

I think Joss said something at comic con to the effect of "this isn't season 6 of Angel", but he is going to be overseeing everything (and writing too I think?). I guess he's wants to downplay the season thing because he's not writing it completely like the Buffy comic, but yes he's still involved.
I'm sure that's Fred Angel was talking about. Fred was the reason he tried to bring W&H down during season 5 so it just makes sense. I think we did see how much he grieved for her in 5, even if it didn't destroy him, in a way.
As far as Hell = L.A., I think that was a point all along for W&H. Remember when Holland Manners took Angel down the elevator to hell, yet it opened up outside the building in LA? Hell is on earth, hell is people, etc, all of that could be said. And the apocalypses referred to in Angel, I think those too aren't the end of the world, but maintaining the business as usual of the world as a long-term apocalypse (where people are never allowed to overcome barriers). It seemed like they were always making these kind of vague observations in Angel.

Wow! all I can say is that, I will definately pick up this comic in november! I do agree, that it doesn't jave the sam flair as buffy, but it is still very cool! I think if dark horse had picked it up, it would have the same flair as well. I am curious to find out what happens to the gang, and with a dragon as a pet I don't see Angel going down any time soon!
