...SPOILERS... I read an interview with Kelly Armstrong, I'd post a link but I honestly can't remember where I read it and she said that the only two main characters that she is using in Aftermath is Angel and Connor, no mention of Gunn, Spike or Illyria. She did say that Kate would be appearing as we know from the covers. My guess is Gunn dies (at least it'll be as a human) in issue 17. Spike and Illyria shimmey off some where out of LA, either that or Illyria is kept as a background character and Spike leaves LA *cough* Buffy crossover. Or at least setting up for one in the future. Honestly if they are crossing over anyone onto Buffy it'll be Spike rather than Angel. I am a Bangel fan till the day I die although I do like the idea of Bander and understand the Spuffy fans but at least with Spike crossing over there is a story. Buffy and Angel ended nicely in Chosen. I'd love another reunion but we don't need one right now and as well all know Joss gives us what we need not what we want. Wow this post got waaaay off topic. lol

I'm going to die if I don't see the cover for this issue anytime soon. But I'd rather see it when I walk into the comic shop.
The other shoppers better be ready to hear some giddy screaming and clapping.

Garner told me he can't show his cover for like another week or so. Hopefully we won't wait that long. Oh so incredibly painful this wait is. We'll likely see it in comic shops first, sort of like Wrigley's cover to #5.

I don't understand though what is the difference of us seeing the cover now or in the shops either way we're going to see the cover before we read the issue and be spoilt anyway. Or is it for the suspense... Yeah, I don't understand that either. The same thing happened with issue 5: We knew a character was coming back and a cover was deemed too spoilery, went to the comic shop, saw the Wesley/Illyria cover, my first thought was "Fred will probably be back". Just seems pointless.

The cover is awesome. It wasn't revealed because of a few interesting things, but one being that it sort of spoils a lot of stuff from #16.
The issue itself, though? Got to read it. It's amazing. There shall be bloggage later tonight, but I won't do a full review until Wednesday, as I like to read at least three times before I make with the reviewing. Couldn't be more thrilled with how it ended, though.

Interesting stuff about the cover (perhaps it involves Angel in a normal L.A.?), I can't wait to see it.

We read issue #17, too! I've got it right here. Brian gave us a copy and it's great.

Wow Pat, great pictures! So jealous you met Brian too.
The #17 cover is made of awesome. Holy crap I cannot wait to get my hands on that. Loving the picture of Gunn and the "I'm sorry" underneath, the whole thing is just too cool.
Just noticed how the "Angel" text looks just like the text off of "People's Magazine." Gah what a great cover.
And that Runge cover for #22! I hope that hits the internet soon.

Dude, I saw the thing on a ginormous screen, up close and physical, and I didn't realize the Illyria and Gunn bits were painted until I put the issue back down. Seriously, Garner is that good.

Oh, and little update on the covers. Not all of Franco's have both sides. The regular version only has the "heroes" section. The incentive stretches around back for a cover spread of the heroes and villains.

Thanks for the clarity, I thought the Gunn/Illryia panels were photos on your photo. Amazing.
I did wonder if they'd be doing that with the Franco cover - like the wraparounds for #7 and #11.

Does he digitally "paint"? Never really thought about how his covers are done before, but they look computerish.

Here it is folks, the very last Angel: After the Fall release date update from Chris Ryall's BLOG. Spike's HC is coming out this week as well. You can get a decent look at Garner's cover, I wish an official cover would be released to the Internet already. Just two days!
