I just watched the second episode again. I have to say, the motion comic breathes a new life into the Buffy S8 comics for me. Here are the actors names (that have appeared so far) for the main characters, if anybody wants to imdb or something. Buffy - Kelly Albanese Xander - Daniel Taylor Willow Rosenberg Dawn - Julie O'Connor Andrew - Tasso Feldman Rupert Giles - J. Anthony McCarthy

I have to say the opposite -- the second made it worse for me. Especially Willow at the end.
I love the art, and the concept of motion comics -- i showed it to my MOM today. Even she noticed. She's only watched 1 season of Buffy with me and SHE can deliver the lines of the characters better than these voice actors are.
I am appalled at the effort NOT being put into this. From the outside looking in, it's all a great concept. If you're not a Buffy fan, seeing this for the first time looks pretty good. But from the inside looking out, Season 8 is supposed to be a "continuance" of the characters we've grown to love. I mean, that's the point, right? They're missing it.
Am going to have to just stick with the books for now. If it's not enjoyable, why keep it up?

Did they cut more lines in the second issue?

I had $4 credit for Amazon's VOD, and curiousity got the better of me so I bought the first two. The voice acting was bad in the first one, and it got even worse in the second. Buffy became a valley girl, and ugh that scream. The harsh faux-English accent for Giles was laughable. I thought it'd be harder to turn Joss' dialogue into a cheesefest. They just don't fit with the characters.
No lines were cut out of the second issue as far as I could tell. If they were, it wasn't as obvious as the few from the first.

Jonas Soda got a Buffy comic trailer for Wolves at the gate. www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Aq-CY0aTOI&feature=player_embedded#! Willow's voice actor is horrible. I can do better. Same for Xander. I have only seen the trailer for the first ep, but I really think the voice actor doing Buffy should have made a better Cordelia. It will be weird, hearing Cordelia and Buffy talk in issue 20(if they'll be one), and Buffy sounding like Cordelia. -EDIT How many lines are cut out in the comics? Wouldn't it be hilarous, in the final comic issue, Buffy says "Oh, that explains what happened back then [she refers to a line/panel in a earlier issue] and that explains the huge mystery. Now everything makes sense" and then that's one of the lines or panels that the motion comic cut out, or didn't put enough effort into. They should have waited until the season was over. Very bad planning. it's not like they can know now, which parts of the comic are the most important or not.

God. "Where's my Sith?!"
Buffy's voice actress needs to not be Buffy's voice actress. Where's Giselle Loren when you desperately need her?

Yeah, the voices may not be that great. But you have to admit the vampire burning effect at the end of the preview was pretty awesome.

Sith? Wow, that kills me, but it's not like the actual comic book hasn't had some serious screw ups as well. I'm looking at you Warren and the Retreat arc. And Buff.

Is the motion comic not on the UK iTunes?

I was just thinking... If/when they get to the Twilight arc, I think it'll be really funny when everyone is commenting on how they recognize Twilight's voice considering it will probably be unrecognizable to fans (like all the other voices).

Is the motion comic not on the UK iTunes? No it's not but you can change your store to the USone easily on itunes and I think you can then download it I'm not sure. Anyways amazon has it. I've watched the previews on the AMerican itunes store and still don't wuite know what to make of this. I'll admit I had no idea motion comics even existed before reading this thread today. I personally find it a bit cringe worthy but I'm not sure yet what my ultimate reaction is.

*sigh* I'll probably buy it. Just like I'll watch the Buffy movie some day. Even just to make fun of them. Because it's still Buffy.

So at amazon now the third issue is 2 dollars compare to the 99 cents I paid for it previously. I don't know if it's worth it anymore.

Yes it's true. The first two I bought were 1 click 99 cents. Or I should probably say 1.05 if you include tax. I mean it was good to watch, but now that they've raised it another dollar. I'm questioning if it was that good. I'm cheap broke. Every penny count's. Believe it or not.

Price increase = suckage!!!
I was only watching these with my vod money I got from amazon. But now at $2 it not even worth using that. I just don't see how an 12min Buffy motion comic can be equal to a full ep of Doctor Who or another REAL show.
Guess I'll be really waiting for the dvd now. DrGreenEvil
