Thanks Enisy... but is she still in Freds body? No, Illyria is out in it's true form currently. No idea what happened with Fred's body or if we will even see it again. And you should go ahead and move this discussion to the #15 thread since it deals with spoilers for that issue. K, thanks well... Thats all I need to know now. ;D

Im used to people dying in the Whedonverse. I actually dont mind, but i read all of the issues all at once, so seeing them dying back to back just hits me a little bit harder than usual i guess. alycat7, I completely understand. I was more making fun of Pat for stating the obvious - characters die in the Whedonverse. I think you're right that there's been an overflow of death in After the Fall. I think it's safe to say that for each season of Buffy or Angel, there were only one or two deaths. If there were two deaths, normally one or both were recurring characters. BuffyS1: No main characters died. Jesse was alive for one episode. S2: Jenny (recurring character). Angel (main character) - his death seemed final to me at the time. Kendra (recurring). S3: Larry (recurring). Snyder (recurring). A lot of close calls for nearly every good main character, but there were no deaths on the good guys' side. Only villains (i.e. The Mayor) died. S4: Forrest (recurring character). S5: Joyce (recurring). Buffy (title character). S6: Tara (main). Katrina (recurring, though not a very big role). S7: Spike (main), again his death seemed final if you didn't know spoilers for AtS season 5. Anya (main). A whole lot of potentials died = cannon fodder. AngelS1: Doyle (main). S2: Darla (recurring) when she was turned against her will by Dru. S3: Vampire Darla dies, staking herself to give birth to Connor. S4: Lilah (main/recurring). Gavin (recurring). They're not exactly good guys, but W&H baddies count IMO because their deaths emotionally impacted the good characters (esp. Wes). S5: Cordy (main). Fred (main). Wes (main). Gunn (main), I think Gunn counts as dying in that alley fight because he was turned there. Lindsey (recurring). (Did I forget anyone?) So what does this show us? Character deaths are limited in the 'verse to 1 or 2 (sometimes nearly none, like Larry's death was relatively minor, treated as an afterthought and a joke) unless it's the shows' finale. Then the death count skyrockets to where main characters are no longer safe. After the FallGwen, Fred (confirmed finally, felt like she died all over again), Connor, Groo, Cordragon. Wes and Gunn are still around, but if/when they do "fade away" it'll feel like a second death for them also. That's four already (five if you count Fred, who's shadow role was played up to be a death) and Illyria's fate is still hanging in the balance. After the Fall has already surpassed either show in terms of deaths (granted, it was Whedon who wanted more people to die in AtF). So yeah, it's hell and everyone is dying. I can deal with Groo (never really a big fan), Cordragon (it was a heroic way to go out) and Fred (she was already dead really, but the hope of her return still hurt when it was smashed) being gone. It's Connor and Gwen's deaths that still really hurt. Connor's most of all.

S3: No deaths though Connor's kidnapping felt like death at the time. Darla died in Lullaby.

Snyder dies in Season Three and Kendra in two (she's at or higher than Katrina status, I think).

'Come On' !!!! We really need him back or see him again in heaven or something...

They're in hell. The stakes are raised. I can't see the logic of putting ATF up against other seasons as it's completely different terms.
Two issues to go, and nothing is settled for good yet though.

They're in hell. The stakes are raised. I can't see the logic of putting ATF up against other seasons as it's completely different terms. Well, but that's the point of the comparison. It's so diametrically different from what we, the audience, are used to. Because the stakes are raised so high, I'm worried about where the story will end and who will still be left standing. Snyder dies in Season Three and Kendra in two (she's at or higher than Katrina status, I think). Thanks, I knew I was forgetting a few people! I edited my previous post to include these in the list.

Chris Ryall recently mentioned on his BLOG[/u][/url] that Nick Runge will be providing covers for issues #18-22 of Angel: Aftermath. We already knew he was providing covers for issue #18-19 thanks to the monthly IDW solicits, but it is nice to know he will be providing at least 5 covers for the series' continuation. This also might be a clue as to how many issues Aftermath will be.

I had a sneak peek in the back of one of this months IDW comics to see if there was an interview about Aftermath - and indeed there is.
Mostly it's an interview with Brian about After the Fall, but the last few questions are to Kelly Armstrong - and she reveals the return of a character which I am very happy about. One that has already graced the pages of AtF.
************SPOILERS***************
YES THERE WILL BE SPOILERS HERE FOR AFTERMATH
DONT LOOK IF YOU DONT WANNA BE SPOILED
AH YOU'LL READ IT NEXT WEEK ANYWAY.....BUT JUST TO BE SAFE:)
DON'T SAY YOU WEREN'T WARNED:)
It's Kate. Which I love and adore - Angel will need someone to help him, and he helped give Kate purpose, so hopefully she can return the favour. She also states that the cast list is diminished (so Connor seems to definately be dead, and I guess Wesley will be gone after this issue), and she mentions again a werecat - and a warrior angel. Interesting. Wonder what kind of world they are coming back to?
*****************END OF SPOILERS**************

Not too looking forward to Kate coming back, but I might be surprised when she shows up.

I'm sure it'll be great. I always expected her to make another return after "First Night." She's in the area, she fights demons. Seems altogether likely that Angel and Kate would eventually run into each other again.

I agree. And we need another standard human running around. Who isn't already dead. Giving everyone superpowers takes some of the fun out. I think it'll work better with a xander type character in the mix.

I am very excited that Kate is returning. I've always been a fan of hers and I thought she would have made a great addition to the team all the way back in Season 1. It will be interesting to see Angel and Kate interact.
