Whatever they do, the extras should be like what's in the Angel: After the Fall HCs. Having Brian Lynch do a written commentary on the original script for After the Fall #1 was AWESOME. More of that, please!

Yeah I'd love to see that kind of contribution from the writers. It'd be cool to read voices (if that makes sense)

I think it would be awesome to have the S8 TPB's in hardcover, like the Angel ones. Chen's covers are so beautiful that they would be even more spectacular in hardcover edition. Lots of extras added in would be awesome as well. On the subject of action figures, I would *love* a line of figures based on S8.

i want a big huge hardcover
i have the TPBs, but i'd still buy the hardcover to have on my shelf and look pretty also the TPBs are easier to take on long journeys and i wouldn't mind them getting damaged so much if i had some awesome hardcover back home

They SHOULD make one big frikkin book. Think of it like a Season 8 omnibus box set (instead of "on DVD"). Or.... what would work just as good... They should have a holder that LOOKS like a big tome and it holds the hardcover volumes. Here's what I mean: Includes: All 40 issues Tales of the Vampires: The Thrill (oneshot) Goddesses and Monsters (oneshot) Untitled Simone oneshot All the MySpace Darkhorse Presents specials: Harmony Bites, Vampy Cat Play Friend, Always Darkest, Harmony Comes to the Nation, Tales of the Vampires: Carpe Noctem (parts 1 and 2), etc... Plus, special features, like concept artwork, foreward/introduction from the writers, writer bios, deleted scenes from the scripts, etc... Ya know, maybe I'll e-mail this to Scott. Hmmm.

Did you make that? It's a great sketch.
And I agree, in case they make several HCs, let's have a box like this made. Maybe with original Georges Jeanty/Jo Chen art.

While the idea of a box certainly sounds good, the execution would just mean more money from us in the long run. They would release the HC's individually first, and since they wouldn't sell a box separately at the end, they would have to do a re-release after all the HC's are out in a packaged box. So if you wanted the box, you'd either have to wait or rebuy the entire set.
They wouldn't release the first HC with a box that has 1-3 empty spaces. Or the last HC with a box for the earlier releases.

Or maybe they could have it a mail in offer kind of deal. Like if the hardcovers come will little vouchers and you have to collect them all and mail them in to get the box. That might work too. I know they did that a few years ago with the Dragon Ball manga.

Just depends on how committed they are to giving us that option, and how committed fans are about asking for it.

Hey, this could be quadruple dipping! We'd buy: 1. The individual issues; 2. The trade paperbacks; 3. The hardcovers; and 4. The boxed hardcover set.
I'd love to have a boxed hardcover set, but it's true that they'd have to print all the volumes at once in order to pull it off. I don't think that's likely to be in the cards financially. Maybe as a (very expensive) limited edition, autographed by Joss and whatnot?

It'd be cool if Jo Chen designed some spine or something, and when the volumes (either 2 or 4) get placed together they make some image and the word "Season 8". That'd make it look cool like a box, but without the actual box.

I love the idea of a box. I'd love for it to be not too far from the style of my DVDs, otherwise I'll just stick with the TPBs and keep 'em on a different shelf.

I would really like the same treatment the Angel TPBs gets. Except they're actually hardcover. This includes, but is not limited to: character sketches, covers, original scripts/ideas, intros, commentaries, etc.
