Well, most think Giles is gonna be killed off. So I really don't think it will be him then. We want the unexpected.

Then maybe it will be Buffy... for real, and permanently.
Maybe all the talk of season 9 is just a smokescreen to make us think Buffy can't die.

I think the Core Four are safe. Joss said in the commentary for Chosen that he couldn't kill any of them because fans would kill him. I know Season 8 is a little different, but I don't see why that wouldn't apply here.

One of those shouldn't count and hopefully the fate of the other can be changed.

As long as Buffy, Satsu, Faith, & Giles survive I'll be a-okay. Xander isn't due to die yet, and neither is Dawn... but Willow, I don't think she'll be lasting much longer. Or any of the villians, obviously.

Well if i'm interpreting correctly from "Fray", the magic is banished...for a time hence anything thats magic would be locked away in another dimension and Willow would most likely be included in said Magic. Although to us it might as well seem like death if her next appearance isn't for another two hundred years in the city of Hadyyn...
since we know theres gonna be a season 9 though, season eight will probably end in such a way that we're on the edge of our seats begging Dark horse to put out season 9 already lol

Like I have said many times, everything points to Willow going somewhere. Maybe not outright dying but being banished until the Scoobies realize they need magic and when they bring it back Willow comes back, pissed as hell.
That would give her a good reason to go evil again!

I want Dawn to die. She is the Jar Jar Binks of the series.

I don't know who deserves to die but I really hope the cast is downsized...its like the JLU. It feels like there are too many people.

Maybe that's how demons/vampires/magic/Willow come back -- she gets banished and spends a whole bunch of time and energy trying to get back.

Here's who I think: Survives: Buffy Xander Dawn Giles Andrew Amy Riley Dies: Willow (I just have this very dirty feeling that she's gonna die earlier than way in Fray-future) Satsu Kennedy Faith Warren So I just realized I killed off the three lesbians in season 8. Thinking it over, I'm pretty sure that not all three of them will die. One of them might, though, and I have an argument for each.

That would be the worst thing thing Joss has ever done. And the kicker? No-one would be able to go "Im not going to buy these anymore" because that would be it. Joss had better not do that. I'm sure some crazy fan would assassinate him....

I'm sure some crazy fan would assassinate him.... A world without Buffy, at this point, would make sense. Didn't someone at DH say that Season Nine would be set a few years after Eight ended and the world would be in worse shape then when we left it? I know it wouldn't be technically be "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" without Buffy, but I have always thought that what made it such a great show was her friends. I think even without Buffy it could still be the show I love. I would still read the story and buy the comics to hear the continuing story of her friends trying to make her proud.

It was more the season 9 thing being a smokescreen, than Buffy dying for real. Sure would be interesting, and... different. But if he kills Buffy and goes "Whoops, no season 9. My bad. Had you believing there'd be one though? huh?"

I think season 9 is safe... just saw an interview with Joss where he said "Dark Horse would be very disappointed if we didn't do a season 9."

I think Buffy is safe from death. Death isn't the worst thing you can do to her.
