no way! what will happen to Marvel Island in IOA (orlando) Will they close the hulk and all the other rides? & does this mean in front of all the marvel movies the disney label will cover it?? I like disney, but come on, stick with the mouse and princesses.

Disney + Pixar has been made of wyn (see what I did there?), so I don't see any reason why this won't be awesome as well.
Disney knows what they are doing.
All of Marvel's current slate of films (Iron Man 2, Captain America, Thor, Avengers, etc.), won't be tampered with, plus it sounds like there have already been some Marvel/Pixar meetings. After the amazing The Incredibles, I would love to see some Marvel/Pixar animated features.

Well... that gives Disney some 5000 new toys to play with. Not sure if that's a good thing for the toys, but the kid playing with them is happy as a clam. I guess if Disney keeps the kid-friendly Hannah Montana tripe out of the Marvelverse (although Wolverine taking off that little brat's head would be quite amusing), fans won't have too much to complain about.

yeah, Disney aren't going to screw around with Marvel
they're smart enough to know that Hannah Montana has a totally different target audience to Spiderman, Captain America, etc so it's not like they're gonna go casting Zac Efron and Miley Cyrus in any of the upcoming Marvel movies

Marvel/Pixar could be simply amazing. I'm interested to see what's to come.

I'm skeptical. At first I was optimistic - could be good in the long run for comics - but now I'm less optimistic.
It's a thing. Someday I'll elaborate in more detail my true feelings.

Comic elitists probably aren't going to be too happy. The Disney brand removes a certain cult allure that a comic book company, even an immensely popular one, provides. In other words, Disney just screams mainstream whereas the realm of sequential art is arguably less so. That said, things have been changing in the comic world for a while now. For one, comics have become increasingly mainstream in their appeal, with many popular TV shows and movies either having comic book adaptations or tie-ins. To my knowledge, Buffy Season 8 is the first official season in the format, and that itself has brought in scores of newbies into the fold. I would never have cared too much about comics or graphic novels before, but starting on S8 has pretty much opened a lot of new doors for me. So, as a relative newcomer, I think it may be a good thing that more people may come to appreciate the art form. On the other hand... it does reek some of selling out. Time will tell. About the Disney/Pixar thing... I'm not dissing the partnership, or the creativity and hard work that went into all those movies. Some are amazing (i.e. Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Up). However, I do miss some old-fashioned cell animation, and there's just something about that medium that Pixar's lovely CGI can't replace.

My biggest worry is that some of Marvel's edgier stuff will be censored. I hope the MAX line and some of the more adult books stay intact.

Heh, at first I thought Disney bought Marvel for $48. I'm not real thrilled though. I'm not a huge comic book enthusiast, and I don't have anything against Disney, but.. I don't know. I feel like all the best Marvel movies have the dark aspects to them, and Disney just isn't dark. The Incredibles was a great movie though, and I'm definitely looking forward to Pixar/Marvel collaborations.

As long as the content is being marketed and published by Marvel (they get to keep the name, right? It'd make no sense to remove such a household name), Disney may not interfere. But that's just me thinking that people are logical beings. I mean, DC is a subsidiary of WB, no? And they don't interfere with each other... at least it seems that way. And back in the day, WB had some awesome kid programming... cue Looney Tunes.

Disney said they arn't going to touch the Marvel Movies.. they are still going to be done by the same people and with Wolverine 2 and Iron Man 2 I couldn't be happier about that... they just needed something that appeals to little boys.. in my opinion Marvel got cut a raw deal, their shares are 50 and Disney's are at 28 or 29...
