Dawn is now Xander's love interest and when you look at his past lovers they all ended up dying, could this maybe be a sign of her demise?

Dawn's world is going to crash and burn.
She's got too much good going on right now. She's normal sized again. Her scorned past love forgave her. She now has the love of a man she's loved for years.
Crash. And. Burn.

Everyone keeps bringing up the fact that all of Xander's past girlfriends have died, but I think this is just coincidence rather than some deliberate point about Xander.
Let's look at the facts:
Willow - Still alive. Will die in the future for reasons presumably unrelated to Xander. Buffy - Died because she's the Slayer. Not Xander's fault, in fact he brought her back to life! Cordelia - Died because of her link to the PTB. Not Xander's fault. Faith - Still alive. Anya - Died because she embraced humanity and chose to fight for them. Not Xander's fault. Renee - Died because she was a Slayer. Not Xander's fault. Dawn - Still alive.
Honestly, these characters died because they live in a dangerous supernatural world, not because they were dating Xander.

But it's evident that Xander's saliva contains a death agent that kills women. Faith's and Dawn's days are numbered, mock my words.

I hear that.
I've been fearing Faith's death for a long time since NFFY. But more to the point, I wasn't arguing that Dawn + Xander = Dawn's death, though I think it's a valid point, but rather, Joss hates happiness. It doesn't make for good writing. Dawn and Xander are in for a world of hurt.

Faith's and Dawn's days are numbered, mock my words. Are you seriously asking us to mock you? Or did you mean "mark my words"?

I will be so annoyed if something bad, pretty much just death, happens to Xander or Dawn. It's too obvious at this point, we're all expecting it. I hope Joss mixes it up. I won't be too disappointed if their relationship falls apart, but if it ends with death then my brain will explode.

I didn't really mean what I said in that post, so it's totally mock-worthy. But I assumed y'all would read it as "mark my words". Either way, mock away. XD

I was under the impression that Dawn's days are numbered simply because Twilight is in pursuit of the Death of Magic... No more magic, no more Dawn. Kind of alarming for Xander if it works out this way...
Also gratuitous first post woo

We should fear for our characters' lives. It should be obvious that they can and will die, it makes the Buffyverse more believable. The fact that Joss has us scared that something might happen to them is a good thing. I think people are too used to fiction being safe and easy where the heroes always live happily ever. They don't like that Joss might kill their favourite character so they complain about it being clichéd writing. Even if it's obvious Xander and Dawn might die, their deaths could still be a great story. As a Johnny-come-lately Buffy fan, I knew most of the characters' deaths before I saw them, but they still blew me away. Whether Xander and Dawn die is irrelevant to me. How they die is what makes the story good or bad.

How they die is what makes the story good or bad. If one of them died, no doubt it'd be great for the story. I like that no one is safe in the Whedonverse, it makes for great television. It's not characters dying that I find cliched, but the fact that it has happened way too many times after a couple gets together, or is truly happy for once. "Xander and Dawn kiss OMG one of them is gunna die in the next few issues" just isn't fun. Everyone must have thought that. I don't like the feeling of expecting one of them to die. Shock value gone.

I'm not against Joss destroying this relationship in a way or another, but I just hope death is not the answer. There are many other ways other than death to severely damage peoples and relationships.
Or maybe, just maybe, Joss will surprise us all my making this relationship last, thus inflicting pain on Buffy and making her jealous.
Maybe not jealous because Xander is with her sister instead of her (depending if you subscribe to the "Buffy's in love with Xander" theory. I do.), but maybe jealous because Dawn is happy like Buffy never was in love.

There are many other ways to inflict pain, yes, but with a war looming on the horizon, death may be the most logical at the moment.

death seems to be a common trait in any dramatic story. Even though the deaths of Xander's lovers weren't his fault i'm just saying maybe theres a clue there. i really think that he and buffy could have worked but i doubt she'll want to date him when he's gotten together with her much younger sister :S

And btw, Xander and Dawn are both mortal. If death is in order here... why are we assuming that it's Dawn that's going to bite it. Some have argued that Xander's personal growth kinda ended at "The Zeppo" (I disagree, but that's my opinion), and since he was supposed to have been killed off in S7, it could very well be his death we'll be looking at soon enough.

It's the episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer during Season Three where Xander gets into a series of misadventures with some zombie miscreants from school while everyone else is busy stopping an apocalypse in the library.

One of them is gonna bite the dust. It's just a matter of how and when. I don't expect the relationship to last long and I have a feeling death is gonna be involved. Oh, here we go again...

Buffy: "Let's face it... none of us are ever gonna have a happy, normal relationship."
Xander: "We're doomed."
