i think it's to keep the script under wraps as long as possible. i'm not positive, though.

I'm totally jonesin' to see this movie. Been a while since I've seen a really decent horror flick.

I don't know much about this movie but I am super stoked to see it. Joss, Drew Goddard, Fran Kranz (Topher), and now apparently Amy Acker as well. What could be better?! I am jonesing for a good horror flick! And I know that any project that Joss is behind is sure to deliver!

not only Fran Kranz, Amy Acker, Joss, and Drew... but Tom Lenk as well. and nobody knows that much about it yet cuz i don't think they've started shooting yet. they usually release a plot synopsis a few weeks into shooting.
btw: everyone, there's been a set date: February 5, 2010.

Tom Lenk, too?! This just gets better and better! February 5th seems like such a long wait though.

Yeah, I think they originally wanted it out around Halloween this year, but there was no way it could compete with Saw and win, so they pushed it back. Hopefully the wait won't be that bad.

Joss said that this movie is "the horror movie to end all horror movies". A line like that coming from Joss thats all I needed to know. No matter the cast (though Acker, Lenk and Kranz seems like amazing additions) this movie is going to kick a$$. Whedon fans and non whedon fans will like it which mean I get to trick my friends into going to see a semi Buffy related thing with me. Ha!

Yay, I can't wait! What with all these horrible horror movies coming out recently, I can't wait for Joss to come in and shake it all up! I would want to see it even without the awesome cast so far, but, you know, Amy Acker is always a great bonus.

EDIT - Do we have any idea what the rating will be? PG-13? R?

I'd be surprised if it was anything other than R.

Because then they mostly focus more on the story, than blood and killing, and nuditiy. Just my personally opinion though.

PG-13 horror movies are always pretty bad. All the greats (Halloween, ANOES, Scream, The Descent, Alien, [REC], Evil Dead) were rated R. It's pretty rare for a PG-13 horror movie to be any good nowadays, Drag Me to Hell being one exception. Joss and Drew could certainly pull off a good PG-13 horror film though, so I don't mind what it is rated.

Just my personally opinion though. you do have a point... case in point: My Bloody Valentine the scene with the hooker who walked around completely naked for roughly 15 mins. and doesn't think to put clothes on at any point in time. Wyndam: [REC] was the spanish Quarantine right? or am i confusing that with something else?
