Hello everybody, I was just wondering, now that Dollhouse is cancelled, What is Joss's next project? We already know that he'll be producing a episode of Glee and I think he's making a Dr Horrible 2 (I think) and he's doing comics.
What will be happening next? Will he make a brand new buffy spin off or someother show? What about Ripper?

I don't know, although any future buffy related projects would be my idea of heaven I just don't see them happening. Saying that, wouldn't it be cool if they made Ripper?

There's still plenty of Joss to go around. As you mentioned, he'll be directing an episode of Glee. We also have Season 8, followed by Season 9, Cabin in the Woods in 2011 (in 3-D!), Dr. Horrible Sequel (is for sure happening) and probably some unnamed other projects. Joss said that by the end of Dollhouse we will know what his next project is.
I highly doubt we will ever see a live action Buffy project again. I really think they need to make Animated stuff happen though. I think a series of Animated straight to DVD Buffy movies would be great. There also absolutely needs to be an Angel After the Fall animated flick.

I agree with you Jellymoff, but I just realised that the CW network is struggling with some of their shows. They've already cancelled a series this season and hopefully they'll cancel melrose place. I really think a live action buffy spin off series would work for the CW network. I've tried to get into so many tv series during the last couple of years and nothing on TV is making me happy. It's like TV had died.

"Joss Whedon joins crew of The Guild" He should do his own on-going web series. Aside from Dr. Horrible of course.

I hope he has the opportunity of making a Buffy related show, fingers cross.

Fingers cross here as well buffylover, I tried to like other Joss whedon projects and i do but i'm not a huge fan. I just like Buffy and Angel. I tried to get into Dollhouse and it took me ages to like that show. I like it now but I knew it wouldn't last long. I don't want him to do something that i'm not interested in because then i'll just be wasting my money. I tried to support him but he needs to give us something back like a buffy related series.

^^ I agree Harm, I have never really been able to get into his other non-buffy related projects. If he did Ripper I think he needs to come up with something completely new, like he did with Buffy. Things he has done since buffy just feel like an excuse to get together with different members of the buffy cast so why not just do something Buffy related?

I agree with you luci, he can make a spin off series and make it look like a stand alone show just like he did with angel.

I want him to try and get the episodes of B:TAS on DVD. I would love to see the couple of episodes they got finished years ago. ^^ He could maybe try even getting it on the air again?
Or something with Fray would be cool... Hmmm.
I would love it if Joss wrote for X-Men again, too! xD His series run was the best so far, IMO.
Or Ripper.... I would like to see that film on TV one day. ;D
We have a lot to hope for!

"Joss Whedon joins crew of The Guild" haha! i can see the wonders that would come from that i'm mostly looking forward to Dr. Horrible 2 (yessss!) and Cabin In The Woods i think he should stick to doing some more online media, comics and maybe test the TV waters in a couple years, on a cable network not too bothered about any BtVS spin-offs, i'm happy enough with S8, although i wouldn't turn any down

i hear he's had this idea for a movie called Goners for a really long time. i'm not sure on the details though, but i remember reading something about it on Wikipedia and it seemed pretty cool.

Thankfully, even though Dollhouse is ending, we have a lot to look forward to from Joss. Dr. Horrible 2, Cabin in the Woods, directing Glee, finishing up Season 8 and starting Season 9. I also agree with jellymoff that straight to DVD/Blu-Ray Buffy Animated movies would be really excellent. The Marvel and DC animated features aren't half bad and sell well. Hopefully Joss will work on more feature films, but if not, then I would like to see him return to TV eventually. Preferably on HBO, Showtime, AMC or SyFy where he can have complete control and do whatever he wanted. Also, starring Alexis Denisof.

I HOPE so much that he does something Buffy related. He knows how much of a hit it was, and should know that by bringing it back it'll be a massive success. He can do a brand new "Buffy" with a new cast and everything, that would be refreshing.
and about all the other projects, Buffy/Angel > Everything else he makes. I just hope he does TV again, he said if Dollhouse fails, he'll never return to TV.

I'm liking the idea of his Buffy Animated going to DVD. I would love to see thoughs. I'm also enjoying the Buffy and Angel comics so maybe he can just focus on thoughs even more. He probably should take a break from T.V for a little while.
Edit - ^^By the way the person above me. Love the banner. Lol.

Im really thinking this would be a great time for him to do something Buffy or Angel related . With people trying to steal Buffy from him a throw together a movie for profit(is that still maybe happening?) this is the perfect time for him to jump in and take back whats his! Possibly just wishful thinking on my part?

Rather than start up some Buffy animated project when we have the comics, I'd love to see him have more input with Angel. Launch the storyline that leads to Angel's part in the apocalypse, or do an arc or two to get the series back on track with his vision. After The Fall seemed the perfect re-invention of the show not the end; Angel can finally forgive himself but discovers he is doomed to be on the side of evil. It seems a shame to leave Angel off his project list when he injected so much more potential into it.
