Oh and Taylor Lautner's shirtless self is gorgeous! Now this I will agree with. He is waaaaay hotter than RP, imo.

So I went and saw New Moon. Yes I am a hater. And I went to see totally unbiased. And I have to say that was the cheesiest movie I have ever seen. The fact girls find Robert P. hot still boggles my mind. This movie could have been better with out the cheesey dialogue, the not so stellar cast and the sparkling glittery skin (I just cant take these "vampires" seriously.) I know some of you will just sit there and say "typical twilight hater." But I didn't go see it as a twilight hater I went as a movie fan totally unbiasedly.

I still say Twilight > New Moon. New Moon was just rushed and sloppy and aside from Taylor Lautner all the acting seemed so tired. Like they were bored or just didn't a Fuck.

New Moon was rushed?! Heh. Felt like that entire 130 minutes could've been cut down to 45.

"Rushed" as in 'not well made' maybe?

"Rushed" as in 'not well made' maybe? Ah, that'd make sense. The ending with The Volturi did seem rushed though, that was the most interesting part of the movie and Michael Sheen and Dakota Fanning acted circles around everyone else with their four minutes of screen time. I wish the movie had more of that whole story instead of 90 minutes of nothing.

Yeah, Rushed as in they made the movie too fast. Just slapped it together. I think this is especially true of the dialogue and the fact the break-up scene wasn't well done. I think it would have benefited from a serious re-write. And I agree with E that the first movie at least had more interesting colors and music and motion. I think it's very clear that they got a director who understood how to make action scenes, but he completely didn't get how to translate romance to film. Which means that Bella/Edward and Bella/Jacob just fell flat in the entire film. And let's face it, that is the entire film. Twilight > New Moon. I was reading this by Meyer about Bella be anti-feminist or not: Do I think eighteen is a good age at which to get married? Personally—as in, for the person I was at eighteen—no. However, Bella is constrained by fantastic circumstances that I never had to deal with. The person she loves is physically seventeen, and he's not going to change. If she and he are going to be on a healthy relationship footing, she can't age too far beyond him. And I'm *headdesking* at how vapidly shallow Meyer is here. Bella can't age too far and still be with Edward? ZOMG she's eighteen to his seventeen?! Unacceptable! Oh, wait, except for all the real life relationships where men and women's ages vary. But clearly they can't have a healthy relationship because the woman may be older than the man. This view is moronic.

That's not right. I imagine that a 30 year old Bella might be uncomfortable having her loved one look 17, but that's no reason to rush into marriage and vampiredom. At least in the book she makes it sound like Bella is a "old soul" (said by Bella's mom who's fine with the wedding) and that way matches Edward who might look seventeen, but is way more mature. The concept of true and eternal love is also used as a explanation to why Bella is so set on becoming a vampire.
It is mentioned in the book that Bella doesn't want to look to old compared to Edward, but I thought that was a shallow thing, and that Bella realized that. Having the writer say that it couldn't be healthy otherwise is... well, just one more thing about the books that annoy me, even tough I call myself a fan.

I watched Twilight twice. It was pretty awful. The best thing to come out of that experience was the soundtrack. "Flightless Bird, American Mouth" is a pretty song. And that piano solo thing that Edward composed for Bella was nice, but generic. So if this latest movie is worse than the first, I'm probably gonna be laughing so hard when I watch it.

I saw the movie last wednesday and loved it. I think it stayed true to the book and used a lot of direct lines from it. The werewolf scenes were awesome and I really liked the Volturi fight.

I like how Meyer believes that their growing age difference was the unhealthy aspect of Bella and Edward's relationship. The controlling nature, the blood lust, all that is perfectly healthy, just as long as they look the same age. Wow. And the reason the scene with the Volturi is so short is because in all of the 500 pages or so, there are probably 75 with the Volturi in them. And I'm thinking of that as a generous estimate. I enjoyed the books and everything, but there's not a whole lot of plot until the final 100 pages.

What? What? ...What?
This movie pretty much bored me to tears. The only things that got me through it were Hot Alice, Gorgeous Jacob, and fluffy wolfies. Oh, and Jessica was HILARIOUS.

The best part of the movie was when Jacob and his pack were chasing down Victoria through the woods with Thom Yorke's Hearing Damage being played. Other than that... utter failure. Although I did like seeing Edward get whooped. Michael Sheen did one hell of a job. Kudos for the creepiness. The other vultures were pretty lame.

I also think the only part of the movie that was rushed was the beginning with the break up and The Volturi scenes. Besides that though I loved the movie. I loved Alice and Jacob. For me honestly they were the best thing in the movie. Bella kind of annoyed with the depression thing over Edward. I mean damn girl snap out of it. I liked New Moon a little bit better than Twilight, but I think I'm biased because I'm TEAM JACOB.

Ugh, please don't take offense, but I cannot stand Jacob (the character... the actor is hott). Mostly because I saw Edward grow to treat Bella with respect and not mindless overprotection, and I saw Jacob trying to force something that was purely physical between them. I was always team Edward, but after the end of Eclipse when Jacob tongue-rapes Bella, I just can't stand the guy.
