There's always one isn't there. Oh for the day when the dreaded 'C' word will cease to be used on this here internet. We can dream ....can't we?

Bwahahahahahahahaha! You just had to be that guy, didn't you? No, I know there are comics. And I'm halfway through them, thanks. I'm asking because the plot line seems to... yeah.

I think you may have missed the 10,345 canon debates that have gone on on these boards regarding anything past Angel #17. It's become a bit of a sensitive subject and it usually gets brutal.

As has been pointed out, there have been at least a dozen debates about the canon status of the comics past "AtF". Comics aren't canon not by virtue of just being comics. Their status is usually decided by the creator. "AtF" is canon. The rest of it is gray area, since there is no official answer, and just a lot of fan arguments for or against granting them canon status.

This was great fun. Great Spike/Angel interaction, loving the connection to "Halloween". The whole issue felt like an affectionate piss-take of the fans, which I like.
Best thing about the issue was Jeremy; totally wasn't expecting him to appear, so it was a lovely surprise. He seemed a little weird in it though. He felt more like Andrew, with his dorky fanboyism, than the laid back everyman from S:AtF. Mooney didn't really get his likeness right either... aside from that first panel, which was basically a straight copy of John Krasinski, he looked unrecognisable. Nitpicks aside though, it was great having him back.
Also nice to see Kate and Connor, and Groo was hilarious as always. Never liked him on the TV show, but Brian's definitely made him work. He's like the new Anya with his strangely literal dialogue. Is he going to be in Willingham's Angel, I can't remember?

Is he going to be in Willingham's Angel, I can't remember? This is what Willingham said in his latest interview: But yeah, it’s Gunn, it’s Illyria, it’s Spike, it’s Dez, James–the sort of half-fallen angel–and Kate, and George, the telepathic fish. I think I’ve got them all in there. Pretty much the whole gang. We’ll have it shake out. They’ve got a lot of Angel projects going, so in the main series I wanted to keep the cast as big as possible, so when characters are leached off for various miniseries and solo adventures, it doesn’t completely gut the core cast for the regular book.No mention of Groo though. If he's not in Angel 28+ then hopefully Brian will use him.

Oh my gosh, I just finally got to read it, and I still have the giggles. What a fun story! I loved seeing the Janus spell again after all these years, especially since both Angel and Spike were there the first time. What an awesome homage to Buffy - even the incantation was the same, word for word. Everything about this issue is just golden, from the terrible movie dialogue, (featuring she-Spike and Nicholas Cage!) to demons dressed as Teleteddies, to canon jokes. Too much funny to list it all! And it was a pleasure to see Groo again, as well as Connor and Kate cameos. And Jeremy! Yay! Jeremy the wizard/Ninja defending Spike from all who would turn him into a woman.... Once again, Brian's writing is brilliant, especially Spike's speech to Angel, admitting his groundlessness. I love the evolution of their relationship, they're increasingly able to talk to each other like normal people - it's cool. I'd really like to see Brian's handling of a similar scene with Connor. And Spike stealing Angel's famous "Let's go to work." - Priceless! In my own personal fanworld, anything Brian writes is canon. ;D Can't wait for the next one!

I also picked it up today... it was very cool- I'm so happy that Jeremy is back and also that Groo has much more 'screen time' and Spike looks so much better with Angel hair! I can't wait for #27 (I love the hoverboard)

Absolutely hilarious. Best issue since the conclusion of 'After the Fall'. Perfect dialogue, great art (so happy to actually see Angel again and not the Asian/Hulk/weird Angel of Aftermath) and enough geek joy to satisfy:)
I'm sure Willingham will do a great job taking up the mantle...but I gotta say - we are gonna lose the Xfactor that Brian brings to the stories. Cant thank him enough for his work these last 2 years. Made this Angel fan very happy!
