Wow, that special one with the birdcage looks very different and the alternative looks similar to Asylum. Might be a connection or something

COMICS CONTINUUM posted a little blurb about what is coming up soon with Angel, and there is a nice quote from Juliet: Really cool that she is having a good time with the issues. Maybe for the HC she and Brian could do dual commentary/notes on the issues? That would be really cool.

GEEK Magazine recently did a feature on Juliet and her upcoming issues. Ryall posted the entire spread on his BLOG too. Pretty awesome:

Thanks for the article Wyn. I just read it and it was great interview. I didn't realize how much Juliet Landau contributed to the Drusilla issues.

Okay, that is badass that Landau was largely responsible for the concept of Sam Shearon's cover. That cover kicks so much ass symbolically.
One thing that does worry me a bit is this, though:
"If you put things in perspective, Spike and Dru were together for 150 years and he and Buffy were together for a year and a half! How many people can say they've had a love affair for 150 years?"
The last time Spike and Dru were on screen together was in Crush and while Spike clearly loves Dru and I imagine still does, he was no longer ruled by her. In point of fact, he's not really being ruled by love of anyone right now. Though I think Buffy still resides as a specter for him the way Drusilla existed for him after they broke up but before he fell for Buffy. It'll be interesting to see how Lynch and Landau play with this. Personally, I see Spike and Dru as having a romantic past. And now that Spike has a soul and Drusilla still doesn't, that's a huge factor. They have epic history that informs them, but still romantic together? Not while Spike has a soul. And interestingly, not while he still didn't have a soul in Crush. Buffy was the motivation for him to become a souled vampire. He's defining himself beyond her now but she's still a huge part of the building blocks that make up Spike as he is now. Drusilla is more about the building blocks of who he was, not who he is internally.
I guess I haven't even been worrying about a 'Spike and Dru get back together' scenario because it goes beyond what I view as possible for his character. Unless Spike decides to go dark like Angel in AtS Season 2 or Drusilla becomes souled. Both of which would feel like cheap ripoffs of old storylines. And having all of the Fanged Gang be souled just feels a bit silly to me.

I would like Spike and Dru to get back together and have Dru souled, it would seem like some kind of destiny thing for the 4 of them all have it and become more of a 'higher being' (Not with TPTB) but I would never see that happening.

JL and JM have always been very pro Spike and Dru. It's nice to see her stick up for their wicked yet loving relationship. I wouldn't mind a Spike/Dru revisit at all. If it's handled appropriately.
She looks just as lovely as ever, btw. A real beauty.

Well, we all know that no-one in the Buffyverse ever go back to their past relationships. They break up, they break up for good. Willow & Oz may be the only exception, but then again, they broke up for good a year later, so yeah, I don't think Spike and Dru would hook up again. Plus, for me, it wouldn't feel right

I don't think Willow and Oz will be the exception, as she's kind of comfortable with the ladies now.

The only thing I could see happening with Spike and Dru is that Spike would probably not kill her, just because of their history. As far as romance though, that's done.

I wonder what kind of weird fan/hate mail Landau's gotten. I've never heard anyone blame Buffy & Spike's "romance"-problems on Dru before.
Btw, that picture of Spike/Dru, has anyone seen if before(and maybe can link to it)?

So it looks like she was in the Asylum, which would mean yet another non canon comic now made canon.

So it looks like she was in the Asylum, which would mean yet another non canon comic now made canon. The cover is just an homage. It has nothing to do with canon. Just as the Jeanty cover of #15 being an homage to the Seven Samurai doesn't have anything to do with canon.
