i He had all that guilt about getting Illyria through customs in five, so now he's been a murderous psychopath it should be interesting at least to see where his head's at. I'm intrigued to see where this goes

Like I said, I am intrested to see where it ends up, but I hope they dont spend the whole one shot with him yapping about how he feels bad.

well yeah, thats my concern. he had the guilt in five and realistically i'm not sure i want to see guilty gunn again. If theres an actual story besides "i've gotta make up for the bad stuff" or "waaa!" though then it could be awesome

Hahah I'm pretty sure there will be a lot more to it than that.

It's completely outlined and halfway scripted and I gotta say, it most definitely isn't "waaah I was bad". It's among my favorite stories thus far. I think you guys are gonna like.

Wow! The script is already done? So this could come out pretty-soonish, I'm hoping.

No, it's not drawn, and it follows Kelley's arc, so it's not for a while.

Poor Brian, every time he posts it is inevitably followed by the question "is it canon?"
Our new name for him should be Brian "is it canon" Lynch. Then down the road when we are BFFs I'm going to start calling him Izzit.
j/k.
This post is creepier than I wanted it to be.
Apologies.

It is not canon, but it's as close as anything will ever be in the forseeable future. It has a Lynch quality guaruntee which is good enough for me.

It is not canon, but it's as close as anything will ever be in the forseeable future. It has a Lynch quality guaruntee which is good enough for me. It's not? I would say it is. I don't think there will be Angel in any other medium from now on (maybe books?) so I just have to take this as the official continuing storyline. I don't see anything else that is going to come in and contradict the story that is being told. I wouldn't consider something canon if it took place during events of thow or slip in between episodes. Those tend to create discrepancies. I do however fall in the line that Joss is end all be all about what is the true story. If Angel and Spike suddenly show up on Buffy and were like "So yeah we've fighting evil in LA and no we did not go to hell. Dragon, what dragon? Telepathic fish, fool you crazy" Then I would I put Angel on the back burner as far as being "official". But I dont see anything currently going on to contridict the story that IDW is telling. So I'm accepting it as canon. Also because the stories rock my face off. But you don't have to take my word for it!

^ I get it from the fact that Joss will not be involved. Not even to the extent that he was in After the Fall, and that isn't enough for some people.

Aftermath has not been confirmed to be either canon or non-canon, at least not by anyone who has the authority to make that confirmation (ie, Joss).
It's ambiguous; you can argue why you think it's canon or non-canon, but it's just personal opinion at the end of the day.

Yeah, all that really matters in the end is what you personally believe. These types of arguments never end with someone saying "Oh okay, I was wrong, it's canon/not canon." If you enjoy the story and want to see how it continues, that is really all that matters at this point. There never will be an official word from Joss about what is, or isn't canon. But we already have a thread for all this talk so..... Brian if you see this: since you have already finished the script for this one, do you think it will come out before the Dru 2-parter? Ryall said on his blog that he believed the first Dru issue to be #24, so I am just wondering if we might see this one as #24 instead.
