Buffyfest podcast with Scott Allie here and he revealed more. "3. Willow one shot - Written by Joss and someone else. Drawn by Karl Moline (Fray/Buffy) with covers by Moline and Jo Chen. It will take place prior to season 8 and explain the Snake Woman back story. Here's how Scott explains it:- "The main story tells what happens before season 8, you know...what's going on with Willow and when you see the cover by Jo, it's a gorgeous cover with Willow and the Snake Woman all wrapped up on each other. So it's gonna fill in a bunch of their story.
There's potentially room for more Buffy one shots i.e., Tales of the Vampire and Willow. We needed a break and figured no one would complain with Willow..."

Guess the Willow one-shot will probably fill the void left by the break between Espenson's and Meltzer's arcs. Nice that they're thinking of us fans. EDIT: Just saw that Joss will be writing #31... all kinds of giddy about this EDIT2: Just saw this at Comic Book Resources: CLICK to go to the source.

Buffyfest reported that Joss was co-writing, though, right? Not doing the whole thing.

Yeah, they did... so I'm inclined to actually believe that CBR made a small reporting error there. Still... the question remains: Who's the mystery co-writer?

And thank you, someone else who sees reason. Didn't she also write one of the Tales of the Slayer stories? Those Tales stories are all hit-or-miss for me... there are only a select few that I find good (note that I didn't say "entertaining"). Call this a radical position, but I wouldn't be crushed if Joss just wrote the Willow one-shot himself. Since he's the one who's written the majority of the Willow/Vasuki scenes so far... I'm pretty sure that the only other person to have written a couple of brief scenes between the two (that we've seen thus far) is Drew Goddard.

I would prefer if Joss had written this issue singlehandedly, but if a writer from the television series who hasn't written in this medium (like Marti Noxon!) co-wrote this, I would be very happy. It's strange that they haven't announced who the co-writer is going to be.
It's good news that Karl Moline is drawing the issue, he can do some great work.

Yes, Joss is writing it!!!!
That's all I have to say.
Hope Chen does the interior(not likely since Moline does a cover). Moline is great, but I prefer Chen.

Kinda curious about what Chen's cover looks like now... and when I say kinda, I mean scouring the interwebs-type ferocity. If the small image Pat posted is Moline's cover for sure, then I guess I'm opting for Chen this time around.

I am so amped to see Jo's cover. The concept of Willow and Saga being all "wrapped" up together sounds beautifully creepy.

Okay, thanks Wenxina.
I almost don't want to see Chen's cover. Not until I buy the issue.
Otherwise I'll think even more about Willow's potential cheating. Better wait until December.

Potential cheating? Didn't she already get all vaginal with Saga?

Nothing has been confirmed, just (heavily) implied, so I'm wiling to give Willow the benefit of a doubt.

I don't know, I think Willow being naked with her legs spread as Saga references them being all hubba hubba in the past is a bit beyond implication.
