I wonder if this is the same company that used the Buffy premium format to make another sculpture where SMG was "modified". I think they got told off by sideshow for doing this.
Btw, that statue way better looking, because of the head used. But they both have that empty stare...

Remember when Darla, as a human, was looking for a vampire to sire her? I can't remember which episode, but she went to a demon bar, found a random (rather young) vampire who apparently had never turned a human before and actually explained the details. She apparently wasn't picky at all about who sired her. If having a more powerful sire made her a more powerful vampire, wouldn't she have looked for a thoroughbred? Not necassarily. A) She was desperate. B) She might not have known that stronger sires make stronger vampires. Or she did know but was desperate enough not to care. Sje just wanted to find someone quick. So the sire might still have something to do with it. We're talking about physical strength, right? When I talk about the power and strength of the sire, I mainly think about body strength, but also about strength of mind. Spike & Angel seems to have a lot of willpower, and seem physically stronger/more able to fight than most other vampires, so I would say "power" includes the whole package. If the strength of the vampire partly or mainly depends on the sire, I assume that female vampires with strong sires could easily slay lesser male vampires. Maybe they have the ability to, but it's stronger in some than in others? Like humans seem to be able to use magic in varying degrees, vampires can as well. Season 8 spoiler for Wolves at the Gate and Spike vs Dracula: If I remember correctly he had gained his powers somehow. Then a bucnh of other vampires learned how he did it (tricked him when he was drunk, I think) and fought against Buffy. Dracula fought beside Buffy against those others vampires. He made sure he and the other vampires lost this abilities. I can't recall if he lost all powers(being able to turn into a panter, bat and bees, having the power of thrall) or just some, or if it was even said for sure.
How he got them is a mystery, but I like the version presented by the non-canon comic Spike vs Dracula, where Dracula learned all or some of his powers (I forget) from a gypsy. She was a whore in life, then she had hundred of years to perfect that knowledge. Might have nbothing to do with her vampireness. On Angel, she got drugs to get into Angel's dreams (while doing stuff to him while he was asleep, it seems). She had The Sight as human. Maybe her powers got stronger when she turned into a vampire or maybe she just starting using them after her death. Either way, maybe she would have been just as strong if she had been turned by a lesser vampire than Angelus. Yeeeaaaaah, I always thought that was a weird seduction technique he used, nothing more. Make her feel helpless and then close the deal. Not that I think he's wrong; who wouldn't want to end it all, in one way or another, after having been a slayer for a few years? I think it enchances. I think Drusilla's abilities got stronger as she was turned, and that all in the line of Aurelius got more power than the average vampire. But I also think that any vampire would like to turn people around they find useful, so sure, the line of Aurelius might do so as well. Angelus probably turned Drusilla since she was already broken and could be as a seer. Darla and Drusilla only seems to have sired Angel & Spike because they wanted a playmate though.

I guess I'd better be careful not to write Skyttefickan88. I do that sometimes, when I write too fast. I would die on the inside if I had to see my misstake everytime I looked at my username.

I don't really think Darkhorse should think "Fans can't afford all of this, we'd better cut down on the issues". Specially since people could wait until TPBs are released and save money. Hell, if they wait half a year after that, the TPBs will be even cheaper.
Not that I think 72 issues in two years sounds like that much. The last 3-4 years I've been buying IDWs Angel and one shots and mini series along with Darkhorse's season 8 and it's one shots. I don't think 72 issues is that much compared to that. That's three issues per month on average, no? I would say that's too little. But if they do decide to release more than 3-5 issues per month, I might need to be one of the ones that buy the TPBs.

I want more, more, more. Since I stopped obssessing about canon I've started to appreciate all the comics more and more.
Sure, it would be nice if Joss gave out a "This is absolute canon, this is maybe-canon and this is absolutely not canon"-list (and maybe a "read them in this order"-list) but that's not going to happen. I hope not too many fans hear "Joss said season 8 is canon" and assume all comics are canon. However, that's a pretty bad reason to not release more comics.
So some fans will feel they wasted their money after finding out that Joss wasn't that involved in them or that they're not confirmed canon. I think that's not that big a deal. I think Darkhorse should still go ahead and release more comics, since I think for every person feeling confused or like they wasted their money by buying non-canon stuff, there's going to be several others that don't give a damn and just want a good story.
Not to say Darkhorse should published crap. And all the stories should be carefully co-ordinated and planned so that there's no out of characterness. Don't want Xander happily eating pancakes in one comic and saying he hates pancakes in another one. I don't care if Joss claims the pancaking-eating-Xander story is canon and the other isn't, they shouldn't contradict each other. And if there's something on one comic referencing what happens in another comic, there should be a footnote.

I'm tempted to register a new username when we switch over. Buffy is so full of random unique phrases that would make good ones. (A lot of them would make good domain names too.) I could be "Funky Party Weasel." Or "Space Lamb." Or, getting back to the Giles AKA's ( thanks, vrya), maybe "Mr. Dicey Semantics" or "Wannaslay Librarian." I've also always liked Lorne, so maybe "Krevlornswath." Or "Uncle Filthy Demon," but that sounds like somebody who hangs around elementary schools in a trenchcoat, so, um, maybe not. All good choices (I love the Uncle Filthy Demon line, so go for it ever though it's creepy). Remember to post the name change in the Changed usernames thread I have to remember to start in the new forum (unless a mod hasn't done so already).

In case After the fall had sucked, I think people would like the art and writing a lot more, because it is decent, but since it's compared to After the fall, it looks bad (I realize this isn't true for all, but I bet it's true for some).
I would probably like the arc much more as well in cased I hadn't liked After the fall (although I never really loved that arc, but I like it more than Aftermath). It is very season 1-ish, which I dig. I miss the Angel Investigation days, and this arc was a nice reminder of that.
Btw, I find myself not loving issue 23-25, which puts Aftermath in a better light than it would have in case I had loved them.
