In honor of issue 9 coming out tomorrow, I will now answer the next nine questions posted in this thread. One each forum member, don't be greedy.
Also, nothing insanely spoiler-y.
Aaaaand go!

Sweet! Thanks Brian!
Hmm.... Will Gwen be playing a bigger part in the series, more than we've seen so far?
Immensely excited for tomorrow! Can't wait to see what comes next!

Was Spike After the Fall planned from the beginning of the series, or after it started and began selling well, and was it something you had to pitch to Joss as well? I guess what I am asking is just the basic history behind the creation of the spin off.

What's your story for how you became a fan of BUFFY and ANGEL? I remember reading about BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER (the movie) in Premiere and thought it sounded awesome. I saw the movie and found it slightly less than awesome. Then I read about the show in some sci-fi magazine, a few months before it came out. I was all "wow, that one girl is really pretty, that is a cool idea they're doing, making the movie darker". I missed the first couple episodes because I was busy directing a low budget movie at the time, but I caught a rerun of "I, ROBOT, YOU JANE" (is that the title? I think so) when the WB aired a block of them on a Sunday afternoon and instantly loved it. Saw the other episodes and loved them more. And then a friend of mine was on the episode where Xander falls in with a bad crowd (he played the bad crowd member who had the funny pants...he's also in FIGHT CLUB) which made me really happy. As for Angel, I always liked him on the show, LOVED him when he became evil, and then thought he was the greatest character ever once he got his own show. Oh, the girl in the picture in the magazine that I thought was pretty was Cordelia.

Will we see any future Angel comics after After the Fall comes to an end? Perhaps a Season 6 or Season 7?

What are the themes of Angel: After the Fall? Angel's story is about self-forgiveness. Making a mistake and not letting the guilt over it control your life. Making amends to those that are important to you, but moreso about making amends with yourself. That sounded dumb, huh? It sounded better in my original pitch. EDITED!

Was Spike After the Fall planned from the beginning of the series, or after it started and began selling well, and was it something you had to pitch to Joss as well? I guess what I am asking is just the basic history behind the creation of the spin off. SPIKE:ATF was not planned but Spike's story was. I thought it would be addressed via a flashback or conversation (a la Spider's speech in issue 4) but when ANGEL:ATF proved to be popular, IDW was all "got any ideas for a spin-off" and I was like "well I do kinda have two ideas" the first was Spike's and the second was doing a parallel story with Kate that launched out of FIRST NIGHT. I outlined them roughly, and found the Spike one more compelling (though I think Kate should have one eventually). I was worried about time (as writing comics is not my day job, it's a hobby that has kinda ballooned!) but when I wrote issue 1 of SPIKE:ATF I found it was much easier (as it's dealing with less characters) so I said I'd do it. I think these two series have aged me a few years but it's worth it. That said, I need a nap.

As in Angel comics will end...or all comics in the universe will end because the end of the gloriousness of ATF will cause all comics to lay down and die from severe depression.
