Dusk, it's based off of books, but the books are soooo different (the main character is blonde in the books for one thing..and a bitca at first).
I missed the last episode of the last season and now the first episode of the first season. I'm so behind. I think I'll go watch them right now.

This show is so cool!!!!
Spoilers ahead: stop here..........
So Damon's back to being messed up. But you can't help but feel sorry for him, especially after both women in his life tell him they don't love him and want his brother. Knew Jeremy wouldn't turn into a vampire. Would have been to easy. And the reason for him not becoming one was actually how I figured it would go down. That the blood actually countered the meds he took. So it was basically like taking the cure before getting the disease, but it still works the same way in the end. The ending with the ring was really good, though. Wish they would do something with the Tyler/Jeremy relationship. Or atleast show what they are gonna do with it. Every once in awhile they send signals that they are gonna end up best friends. Sometimes the signals seem like it could be way more than that. (And since this is a teen drama, on a lifetime wannabe network, in a PC world, I could see that happening.) Can't believe they did that to Caroline. Katherine is gonna be a great villain. I just really hope they don't overdo the "Are you Elena or Katherine" bit.

Just finished episode five, and I loved the last two. I thought the first one was iffy; The second and third were okay; And these last two have been great. Getting better and better.

I'm not sure what channel it's on in England, but in America it's on the CW, so you can go online at the CW's website to watch some eps you missed.

Dis someone say they were already on ep five of the new season? Or were you talking about the first season? Only two episodes of season 2 have aired here so far.

Howdy. I'm covering part of the screen as I type this since I don't want to see any spoilers in the new season. I'm slowly making my way through S1 of Vampire Diaries! Yay! 16 episodes in, and I'm a little bit obsessed already. Can't wait to join in on the conversation once I'm all caught up.

Oh! Yh... I'm very stupid. Caroline's my favourite (after Damon of course) How about you guys? Damon's my favorite. I love your avatar by the way. I love Damon/Elena interactions. I hope there's something there. This show is so cool!!!! Spoilers ahead: stop here.......... So Damon's back to being messed up. I just really hope they don't overdo the "Are you Elena or Katherine" bit. My thoughts on episodes 2.4 and 2.5... The Tyler/Jeremy friendship might pick up now because Jeremy knows Tyler's secret. Mason Lockwood is an interesting character... okay and easy on the eyes, lol. I'm also eager to learn Katherine's big plan involving Mason Lockwood and the moonstone. I agree, she is a great villain. I am scared of her. The fact that she has the foresight to ingest a little bit of vervain every day to build up a tolerance is really smart. The woman is unpredictable and will go to any length to get Stefan back. My favorite line from one of the latest episodes- "We both know I could rip you to shreds... and do my nails at the same time." Also, what is it with doppelganger villains always having curly hair? (Like Faith as Buffy for example... And I think someone mentioned that anytime Buffy doesn't act like herself she has curly hair... sorry tangent.) I think Nina Doprev does a great job playing Katherine and Elena. The tiny nuances make the biggest difference. Even when Katherine's hair isn't as curly, you get the feeling it's Katherine and not Elena. Ian Somerhalder too... 19th century Damon vs. Modern day Damon? Such a difference!

This is a great year for doppelganger's. Nina Dobrev and Anna Torv are both doing fantastic work on VD and Fringe.

The Vampire Diaries may be a new obsession of mines. As of right now my favorite character is Katherine. I freaking love her but I know she probably isn't going to make it past S2....which sucks! Caroline is my second favorite after new the episode that aired week before last. The female vamps are giving the guys a run for who's the baddest in Mystic Falls. I am loving the werewolve's storyline with Tyler & Mason. I want to see where that goes. I also can't believe..... Mason & Katherine are hooking up. That was a shock to me. I definitely want to know how that happened. EDIT: So much for wanting to know what happens with Mason . I'm not even gonna bother getting attached to any of the characters anymore.

So I just got Season 1 of this on DVD for my birthday. I've only ever seen like two episodes so I'm really excited to get into this. I've definitely heard good things about it.

^^ Whoops, okay so you're not going to wanna read my post with the major spoilers for the 2nd season... So much for wanting to know what happens with Mason . I'm not even gonna bother getting attached to any of the characters anymore. Awww... I know. I was upset about Mason too, especially the gruesomeness of his death. (Seriously, Damon...really?) I suppose it was necessary to push the plot along. I don't read the books so I don't know if this is what happens in that storyline, but every episode, I'm just on the edge of my seat. The last episode to air was just crazy. I don't think we've seen the last of Katherine. She's locked in there with the moonstone which I imagine they'll need back. And I'm a little squicked by the prospect of Bonnie/Jeremy. (Jeremy loves older women, doesn't he? )

This show has me so hooked.
Death of Aimee just right there!! Wow!!! Go Caroline!! Love how she was just the boss in this ep. But the scene with the shared pain between Katherine and Elena was intense. I now am really curious to who Katherine was running from. First Aimee, then Sarah. Guess drunk-slutty girls are the red-shirts in The Vampire Diaries. I felt sad for Tyler. But if him and Caroline get together that would be cool. Glad Matt is still alive. Sad that Elena and Stefan didn't get back together. The ending to this ep was both ways for me. 1) I loved the Katherine/Damon ending. It was just so poetic and kept the door open for more Katherine. 2) I can't stand that they are already rehashing the "Elena gets kidnapped by freaky unknown guy" story. They did that last season.

This show has me so hooked. 1) I loved the Katherine/Damon ending. It was just so poetic and kept the door open for more Katherine. Completely agree. I was a little sad though that he locked Katherine in the tomb , but it was very poetic. The episode I'm most excited about is Katerina. I believe it premieres next week. I really want to know more about Katherine's life. How she was turned? Why she decided to date Damon and Stefan? How did she become such a manipulator? I have a feeling she wasn't always like that. And the biggest for me...What curse is she trying to break?

I think your last question was answered in last week's episode. But it probably just brings up even more questions. Like, why did she want to bind the curse, and how does this curse affect the Originals? I'm really curious to learn more about these Petrova doppelgangers too. If Elena is the second, and Katherine is the first, then I wonder who is the original? Do you think perhaps that she was an Original? PS...those vampires are hella scary.
The ending was pretty remarkable. I have no shame in saying I cried! Damon has certainly become more humanized this season, which has potential for his relationship with Elena.
The Caroline/Tyler side story was pretty great as well. I don't want Caroline's sympathy to come back and bite her in the ass (possibly literally when that full moon comes around). This is shaping up to be a really good season.
