A series about a magical family living in a normal world. The show follows the lives of three sisters: Prudence "Prue" Halliwell (Shannen Doherty), Piper Halliwell (Holly Marie Combs), Phoebe Halliwell (Alyssa Milano), and later, half-sister Paige Matthews (Rose McGowan) as they find out they are the prophesized Charmed Ones, the most powerful witches that will ever exist in both the magical and mortal world. They deal with normal problems such as love, family, and jobs. With the extra kick of magical problems such as demons, warlocks, and the higher chances of being killed everyday. The series aired from 1998-2006, summing up a total of eight seasons. The main cast is made up of Shannen Doherty, Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano, and Rose McGowan. These four ladies are joined with Brian Krause, Julian McMahon, Drew Fuller, Kaley Cuoco, and others. It appears as though Zenescope Entertainment has been doing their homework from the success of official Buffy and Angel continuation entitled Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Eight and Angel: After the Fall, because they now have licenses to produce Charmed comics and graphic novels. The series storyline will continue where season eight left off. Co-writing the series will be Paul Ruditis (writer of Charmed novel's Leo Rising, As Puck Would Have It and The Brewing Storm) and Raven Gregory (writer of Zenescope's Wonderland series). The combination of these two will make a promising series. The comics will be penciled by Dave Hoover. Issue #0 will be release in June 2010. Issue #1 will be released in July 2010 at Comic Con International at San Diego, California. LOL... yeah... All my (/our) fav shows are coming back. Charmed really went down hill after Prue's death and lost the plot after season 6, I still have high hopes if comics end up getting made.

It really did. I mean Seasons 1,2,&3 were really the best seasons. The first two seasons had a dark tone to them, while the rest were very light tones. I think season 3 was the best season of them all. It had all the elements of the show, a dark/light tone, and it was a lot about sisterhood. Which is what the show is about. I think the show was ruined after season 5 (Baby's First Demon). I just hated that the show made Piper's baby into a male instead of leaving it a female line of witches. I really hope that the comics would cover up some missing episodes that the show didn't cover (ex. Paige's adoptive family visiting, Victor's side of the family visiting, Paige finally meeting Prue, etc). It's not specified if they are continuing the show with a season nine.

I agree with what both of you had said so far. Although it didn't bother me so much that Piper had males. It was that in a previous epsiode they revealed she was supposed to have a daughter, and suddenly that didn't matter. They used the "The future is constantly changing" excuse but I felt it was a cop out. Also, it really bugged me that they constantly brought back the ghost of their grandma and mom and never Pru. I understand that they couldn't bring back Shannon, but in the context of the show it made no sense. At first they said it was because they needed to deal with her death, but several years later there was just no excuse for it. I dunno how I feel about the comics because the later seasons felt really...bleh for me. But that's how some people feel aobut Buffy so meh.

Only reason Piper had boys was so that Drew Fuller could bring some much needed male eye candy into the show. I consider it my moment of shallowness when I actually watched chunks of a season because of his stunning presence. The show as a whole never did it for me. But at least it was pretty transparent. Throw three attractive women together, give them superpowers, find many ways to put Alyssa Milano is gratuitously tiny outfits, including that mermaid suit. And then weave some mumbo-jumbo about The Power of Three around the entire farce.

Also, I am not a big Paige fan and I think Rose did a really bad job and her acting only improved in the later seasons episodes but it was just too little too late. Also the later seasons had too much comedy in them for my liking. But I was really happy that Piper had boys because I really like Drew Fuller / Chris.

Agreed that Alyssa wore way too many revealing outfits. Didn't like her haircut in season 6 also. I think the only times I liked her look were in Seasons 2, 3, first half of 4, and 8. You can tell that the sister in the middle is Phoebe just by that outfit.
Also agree that they put too much comedy in there, especially in season 8. Also bringing in Kaley Cuoco was a really bad choice, she's great for a comedy actress but not for a drama actress. The show really did have a bad casting choice (Rose McGowan (which only improved in s6), Kaley Cuoco, Marnette Patterson, Wes Ramsey, Anthony Cistaro, etc.)

Now that i'm older I see it...for the not-that-great that it is. I still enjoy watching the eps from time to time. It's entertaining without having to think.

I agree. Drew Fuller is just too good looking. Theres a particularly seen of him in a bath tub that I can never get out of my head YAYYYY!! Charmed comics. I am so hyped, I love Charmed. I was a Charmed fan before Buffy, although I love Buffy more than Charmed. Did go down-hill after Prues death, totally agree, but I still watched it. Can't wait, hope this turns out to be dead-set and not just at the maybe stage.

This is exciting. I was Charmed fan. I agree with most that it went downhill in later seasons. I hated the way they just NEVER even acknowledged Prue in later seasons. Most noteably the last episode, at the end when they were showing all teh family pics. Where was Prue in all this? Shannon really pissed some people off over there. Also, I know Pheobe wore alot of revealing outfits, but I really really didnt mind

Even the Charmed Magazine only started using her images like half way into their run, my guess is that something changed

Thing about these comics is that I dont think they will be as cannon as the Buffy Season 8 comics.
I don't even think any of the shows crew would get involved, this may even lead to the characters being well... out of character. But i'm hoping for the best.

Even the Charmed Magazine only started using her images like half way into their run, my guess is that something changed I read that Shannen's contract stated that she had control over her image. That's why you never see the picture of Prue, Piper, and Phoebe outside the manor in later seasons, and why they could only use the picture of little Prue as that wasn't Shannen, and also why Prue wasn't in the family memorial at the end. Even in any episode where Prue is mentioned, the crew had to pay Shannen an episodic fee (paid without doing anything, lol). If what I read was true, then maybe her contract has expired since it has been four years now since Charmed had ended and they could use her image now. Thing about these comics is that I dont think they will be as cannon as the Buffy Season 8 comics. I don't even think any of the shows crew would get involved, this may even lead to the characters being well... out of character. But i'm hoping for the best. That's what I'm most afraid of about these comics. I really hope they ask Constance M. Burge to do something with these comics and let her finish her Power of Three story (with Paige, not Prue, obviously). The whole destroying the Ultimate Power storyline was not much of a finishing-story touch for me.

I hope they do use Prue, I hope this will be an epic good vs. evil storyline (e.g. Supernatural Season 5/ Buffy season 8) I also hope they bring back the other guys and children from the show (not Billie, kill her off lol. ) But I want it to still use element from the show like sisterhood and them still trying to live a normal live and have the same kind of early season feel, but not contradict the last 5 mins of the final set in the future.
