It has been confirmed that Faith is indeed in Cleveland. I think it was a reply in the letters section in the back of issue 2. Yeah, you're right. It also says she'll turn up in England "issues 6-9 follow Faith on a very unusual mission, from the Hellmouth in Cleveland to even more unfriendly environs in England" Faith's coming to England - yay!!!! I can't wait

Some further musings on the symbol:
It was carved into the chests of the two dead guys in the church in issue 1. The slayers kill the demon creatures in the church then work out that the two dead guys were there for a reason, not just random victims.
In issue 2, we see it carved into the chest of Colonel Voll. His scar is white, suggesting it's old and healed up. The symbols on the chests of the 2 guys are red, suggesting they're fresh.
The symbol looks like a sun setting on the horizon and a star rising.
Ethan talks about twilight falling and Buffy needing all the help she can get. Then we see Giles making a deal with the demon creatures. Both Giles and the demons believe they were lured to hte church into an engineered conflict. But at this point nobody knows by whom. So it looks as if the slayers and the demon creatures are going to have to work together to beat a common enemy. Like Ethan says, Buffy's gonna need all the help she can get.
So it doesn't look as if Giles is betraying the Slayers, just doing what he's got to do.
It's obvious that whatever group it is that are using the symbol, have some kind of apocalyptic purpose. Maybe some kind of nucleur apcalypse that will blot out the sun and make the world dark?
What do you think?

Other things I loved: ETHAN! and of course Buffy's 3 way fantasy! Same here! The fantasy was the first thing I saw when I opened up. I did a double take. Then I cracked up. Then I got quiet. Then cracked up again. That was the best! I hope Ethan gets "explained" in the next issue. Maybe I just missed it in this issue, but why is he, specifically, there helping Buffy? He said something about he and Amy connected, but he didn't know it was her? Maybe he's knows what's going down with the symbol? If he does, it must be some threat to him if he's willing to help the slayer(s). Hrrmmm. Any ideas?

Hmm... Well Ethan is being held in a military prison in the desert right? Maybe the base we saw is where Ethan is, maybe that's how he is connected with Amy. He could be helping Buffy to help himself, you know, to get him out. Just some ideas.

That's an interesting theory.
But how do we know he's in prison again? Was this from the show and I just missed it or something?

I'm pretty sure at the end of A New Man, the Intiative take him away and Riley says somethig like, "They'll take Mr. Rayne to a secret detention facility in the Nevada desert."

There's a lot of great theories and speculation going on around here. This is great! I am so happy with this series and we're only 3 ish's in.
Keep in mind everyone that a sunset is just like a sunrise (dawn). There has got to be more w/ Dawn than the whole giant size thing.
Can't wait for Faith! Also great catch on Ethan there hitnrun017! I so hope he has a meatier role this season and sticks around longer than he has in the past, such a great character!
After all the surprises so far there's no way we're gonna figure this out. Also consider this...notice how damn touchy Willow is about the whole "kiss" thing. She makes everyone close their eyes and has been very quick to change the subject when it was brought up...hm....Mikey...could you get you're wish??? Also keep in mind things are not perfect with Kennedy and her. She said they are taking their time and giving each other their space. Xander seems waaaay to obvious and so far this series has been everything but!
Oh...and things are going to get very interesting in ish 4, I hear Buffy battles the Un.......ed S...es.....M.....t. (oops would that be a spoiler???)

I'm almost sure it wans't Xander who kissed Buffy, look at his face when Buffy wakes up. I think Xander was going to try and kiss her, but someone else got there sooner. He looks so flustered.

Lmao! Best quote of the issue. Followed by the Kennedy's dead bit, heh.
Not to mention the "F%$#ing Fum." from Dawn ;D
Really liked the page with all those memory blocks! I think the one that stood out to me most was Joyce on the sofa, and the block with the Master is pretty swish too!

Yeah I liked the memory block page the best too. I think I looked at that page for a long time trying to pinpoint each memory.
Wouldn't it be neat if there were transplanted memories from the monks? Like memories Buffy has that we never got to see including Dawn.

I was sure it was Spike! We did get a flash of Buffy's Angel and Spike sex fantasy. That was hilarious, though the cherubs flying around were a bit much. I thought that the drawings of Willow were really gorgeous. Great likeness. Did anyone else think that Dawn stepping on Amy was the most useful she's ever been? I'm really confused about Giles. Who's the amorphous mass he's talking to? Is that supposed to be the king of the creepy green demons that Buffy fought in issue #1? Was Andrew being ironic about Xander being bored silly at the Italian strip poker game? Or are they still playing Andrew as gay and he really thinks that Xander would be bored? I'm so confused! Andrew was always clearly gay on Buffy, then in his appearance in The Girl In Question, he left his apartment with two hot chicks. What's the deal with Andrew? And, finally, WARREN!?!?!?! HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! That's so wrong and icky and awful and geez, we're going to have to keep looking at his skinless flesh! Yuck! So Amy must have brought him back from the dead? If she could do that, couldn't she generate some skin on him?

Girl Power...in regards to Andrew...he's doesn't have to be gay! He is oblivious, not necessisarily gay. Sure he had a man crush on Warren, but like you said he's pimping the ladies in Italy. The whole exchange with Xander is what they call situational comedy. The joke is there ARE hot ladies and Xander would have been easily found "something" to entertian himself with...Andrew is a doof and clearly oblivious to the big busted slayer in the bra and panties. Get it???

Get it??? Hmmm... I haven't watched the Buffy reruns in quite a long time, but there were a lot of small moments that I thought pointed to Andrew being gay. It was a whole running joke. For instance, in Entropy when Spike had sex with Anya in the Magic Box. Andrew said in this awestruck tone that Spike was "SO cool," but then quickly got self-conscious looked to see if Warren and Jonathon had noticed, then quickly added, "and, I mean, the girl's hot too." I'd always heard others say that Andrew was gay, based on his behavior through seasons 6 and 7. You're the first person I've heard suggest otherwise. Do others have opinions about that? I'm just wondering if that is the popular opinion, or not.

I actually think Andrew is asexual, but yeah, most people think he's gay.

I definately think there are some issues inside Andrews head! I just don't necessarily think he is gay. Why would they tip toe around it so much? Willow and Tara were strong powerful women and great lesbian role models, don't you think they "gay jokes" with Andrew would taint that???
He's weird, plain and simple. He's a Star Wars fanboy and not exactly smooth with the ladies. The whole thing is very tounge-in-cheek. I think if he were gay, they would have come out and made it obvious. Who knows? The consensus is definately gay, but I think that's way too simple. Asexual is kinda what I'm thinking. But he could be bi-curious? Whatever the truth it has made for some funny awkward moments! He could just be very secure with his heterosexuality and see nothing wrong with saying Spike is So cool, damn I persoanlly think Spike is cool for hooking up with Anya! (backs away all jealous like....)
