*********SPOILERS*************
Okay so what?! Renee is dead??? Did I miss something?!
Anyway Buffy's dream sequence...CRAZY! I can picture something like that being put to film someday...with a huge rumbling sound, and hellish red background. Joyous!! Anyway i loved this issue. Although I found it odd that Amy just stood around after trying to stab Buffy and no one just killed her right away. If I were one of the slayers that botch would have been scrap!
Willow's entrance, golden! I cannot wait for more!!
Oh, and Buffy dreaming of Xander...weird but it felt okay to me. But Amy stated it was a nightmare so I suppose it is something that Buffy finds revolting. Sadly.

Okay so what?! Renee is dead??? Did I miss something?! I think she's dead. During the attack, there is a panel of a zombie stabbing her in the back.

I was thinking Spike as mystery guy for like one second then said, "Hey, wait... when did Spike learn to fly???" Hm...

Oh puh-lease, like slayers can't get over being stabbed in the back? I mean, come on. Haha, how many times has Buffy been stabbed in the back?! I'm sure Renee's fine. I see a love triangle forming between her, Xander, and Buffy.

Wow, good point. I hope she is just wounded! In just that little part in #1, I really liked her character, and like you said, I would love to see a love triangle.

Wounded...hm...could be but doesn't Joss have a thing about killing off characters people like to build tention and a sence of threat?
My favorite part was Andrew...his Lando Calrissian monologue was fantastic! First LOL moment for me. Also Buffy's dialog with the Slayers was spot on perfect, I could hear SMG reading the lines!
So where was it that supports Spike is the floating mystery figure...what exactly did I miss???

The first time I read it, I just assumed that the floaty dude and dream dude were the same person, based on the outfits, but after some thinking, I thought, that doesn't make any sense, so I'm now thinking they are different people.

it really looked like spike in the dream and the whole my love....im thinking it was spike. as for xander and buffy- it was in her dream...as in, not actually happening. i would be mad if they got together, seriously, does she have to get on every guy she sees!!!! i think it ws all part of the nightmare, though.
i LOVED willow!!! i was like, NO it cant be over! arg! but willow, giles, andrew, glimpse of whom i believe is spike...it was a great issue!

I don't get why so many people would be mad about Xander and Buffy getting together. I makes perfect sense. Buffy is the girl of Xander's dreams. She always has been. He just gave up because he figured he didn't stand a chance, and just took the best-friend role. Guys in that role don't just stop loving the girl, they just don't act on it.
If Joss can write it in a way that makes sense, showing that Buffy HAS had feelings for him but just didn't act on them, it'd be so awesome! Xander would finally get what he always wanted! A girlfriend who isn't a demon!

So where was it that supports Spike is the floating mystery figure...what exactly did I miss??? I didn't see anything that supported Spike being the floating mystery figure. It's just that the boots and the bottom of the jacket look like classic Spike. The guy in the long black jacket with the red t-shirt in Issue #2 also was dressed classic Spike. He could have also been Angel, but Angel doesn't tend to wear collarless shirts, and the figure in the dream was much trimmer than Angel has been in years. And wasn't Andrew funny? He looked so like a Hobbit! His eyes were huge, like Elijah Wood's, and he was wearing those capri pants and tunic style shirt. He's such a dork. He was seriously cracking me up. Personally, I don't HATE the idea of Xander and Buffy. It's just that up until the comic series he was kind of self-righteous geek without the integrity, power, or wisdom for Buffy. He seems to have gotten discipline and focus now. He doesn't seem like the same guy who left Anya at the altar and had creepy sex dreams about teenaged potentials. He is more functional and less of a Zeppo now. Xander could possibly make Buffy very happy. But Joss never lets her be happy. I think that whatever is going on, there are quite a few twists in store for us. Only Joss knows where he is leading us.

I trust Joss, and if anyone could make Buffy+Xander work, it's him. I mean, he DID create them and all.

i was just thinking, if the 'boyfriend' of Amy's was a Turok Han, it'd have a reason to want revenge on willow. She did turn potentials into slayers who then attacked them and started a war. Though do they have enough brain to know that??? Maybe Amy persuaded it to understand this??? Oh well we won't know till #3/#4

Here are some interesting things I picked up on as far as continuity goes and how it concerns Spike. Buffy season 8 takes place during Angel season 5 (evidence gathered by the comment Buffy made about being in Rome in issue 1) So if Spike were to play a part in this series it would not be substantial, as that would have affected him in Angel season 5 and he would know the Buffy decoy wasn't her. Also, if the series runs past season 8 and Spike is in it, Joss would have to explain what happened at the end of "Not Fade Away" , which, unless they do Angel season 6 in comics, would ruin the Cliffhanger legacy of Angel and leave us all wondering what happened to the rest of the Angel gang.
That's why I don't think its Spike.

I have a feeling it'll be Warren (the "boyfriend"). I mean, it has to be someone Willow wronged. Because the preview for part 4 says that it's someone who wants revenge against Willow and has been waiting a long time for it.

I was also thinking Amys boyfriend could be the magic dealer guy that Dark Willow killed in season 6. Amy could have brought him back like Willow did with Buffy. I imagine he would be pretty pissed at willow. If he's a monster, could have just come back "wrong" as a zombie or something.

I finally just got my issue from BCC. I loved it, much better than the first one. I'll probably read it again soon. I really don't have much of a problem with the Buffy/Xander relationship if it happens. I do think that Buffy does like him, because obviously the dream before it turned into a nightmare, which is classic Joss, just look at some of Buffy's dreams from season 2 (like her dream that she's walking through the Bronze normally, and then she sees Angel and Dru stakes him), it's not much different than that. Another thing is that two of the other slayers were talking about how Buffy suddenly has an interest in comic books, James Bond movies, and drywalling. So there could definitely be some interest on Buffy's side. The question is, is Xander ready to move on? He could still be hurting over Anya's death. I always get a kick out of Giant Dawn, hehe! And Willow's entrance was amazing! Red's back As for the mystery man from Buffy's dream my first thought was that it was Spike. Because it technically could be Spike since it's a dream of hers'. I don't think it was Spike in the first issue though, I'm kind of wondering if it's not Riley. -Jess

Either him or Warren would be a really interesting showdown for Willow.

I thought this comic was interesting! Buffy's nightmare of decapitating Xander with a kiss made me wonder something. Do you guys think she avoids "normal" men because she worries about hurting them physically? What was Spike's crack about Parker? "Did you bruise the boy." Would be an interesting fear for her to have.

Another thing is that two of the other slayers were talking about how Buffy suddenly has an interest in comic books, James Bond movies, and drywalling. So there could definitely be some interest on Buffy's side. The comments the one slayer made to the African American slayer named Renee out on the ramparts were talking about Renee's interest in Xander. The other slayer said to Renee, "I'm not even bringing up volunteering us for the frickin' graveyard shift, cause that's --" Apparently in addition to Renee's sudden interest in comic books, James Bond movies and drywalling, Renee had also volunteered herself and her friend for the graveyard shift to impress Xander. Remember how Xander was working with Renee in the operations room in the last issue? It looks like Joss is developing an interest there, at least on Renee's part.
