part of me is left with a wretched taste in my mouth, and a burning in my eyes after reading #34. but something tells me i'm going to see a panel in #35 with angel and buffy prancing about in a meadow singing "we are as gods" like the trio.
although i'm antsy for the story to continue, i can't say that i like this twilight arc.

So, less than a week to go and still no preview. Has it ever been this late before?

I think so... though, look out tomorrow... there might be one then. That, or they really can't afford to spoil anything... which would be cruddy. Fans like spoilers!

It can't really be a spoiler, since it picks up right where the existing story left off. It would just be a slightly early continuation of the story.

Scott Allie's new Buffy Zone update is up, talking about fan reaction to #34. That's nice to know, but I was more concerned about Buffy boffing Angel based on what she believed he was. If they thought his hand-waving "I didn't kill anyone" explanation was supposed to justify this complete 180 in her attitude, they were wrong. And the stuff we know Angel personally did or allowed... the missile attack, the attack on Buffy and Satsu in ABS, the Tibet attack... certainly should be enough to deprive him of sex privileges for... oh, ever. The action of #34 leaves me with the default opinion that Buffy is an unfeeling, selfish slut. And it's gonna take some mighty fancy writing to convince me otherwise.

And it's gonna take some mighty fancy writing to convince me otherwise. My guess is that's why we got the Riley issue: to show Twilight passing information to Buffy and some sabotaging attacks on slayers.

Asked Allie last night if we were getting a preview for this issue, and he said yes, and thought that it should be out already. So on the bright side, there is a preview coming. On the downside, it's nowhere to be found at the moment. Hope we don't have to wait for CBR to release it the day of the release. Newsarama usually releases it a lot earlier than CBR does, so I'm crossing my fingers.

And it also brings up the sex-under-false-pretenses scenario back into comics. I remember a recent case of it in The Amazing Spider-Man #603 where The Chameleon disguised himself as Peter Parker and seduced his roommate. The writer, Fred Van Lente, rubbished the idea of rape because it lacked the (critical ) element of force. Van Lente felt the storyline was fixed (for him, at least) by revealing that they did not have sex, but rather just made out a little. Some critics blamed it on "a cognitive dissonance in the comics industry," IIRC. I wonder how this will be addressed in Buffy as the idea seems to be more prevalent than I originally thought. ^^Just read Scott's full update. OMG, he seems to have such a childlike fascination with the shipping faction; he's just so adorable there. Maybe someone should go and hug him?!

No preview yet? They may as well not even release one, the issue is out in a couple days anyway. I can't wait to see fan reaction to this issue. I'm expecting more anger and rage.

Allie said that we should get one. But from the looks of it, it will probably be from CBR... and that's usually either released the day of, or the day before the releases. *sigh* Probably just as well...

I'm guessing #34 was the main "anger and rage" provoking issue and this will be the one that puts us on the road to resolution. But a lot of it will depend on how Buffy reacts when she finds out what's really going on.
