hey, does anyone know a good, FREE downloadable video converter that will convert the full video and not leave watermarks?
I've been having some issues with this, cause all the free downloadable ones only convert teh first five minutes of my video, or leave a huge watermark right in the middle of the screen, lol. help would be much appreciated!!

Oh, uh. I use to know a really good one, but it got very busy and wouldnt do it anymore, but that was months ago, I'll try to find it again. It's a Youtube vid converter. Is that what you're looking for? EDIT: Here it is! www.mediaconverter.org/ |

Psst. I don't think we are allowed to talk about free downloads. sure we can as long as they are legally free (like the link above) personally i know of many "Free" converters but i wont post them here because they shouldn't be free |

and it's not a YouTube file, it's a VOB file, that i want to convert to MP4.

That free download is only the 30 day trial, though, and i've used Prism before, and i ran the trial out so it won't let me do it without buying  |

Prism Plus is the only one that supports my video's format (VOB). to be safe, i tried your link and it said i needed to upgrade to Prism Plus. again I post... WinAvi google it. i did, and i used it. it converted my videos, but it left a massive watermark saying WINAVI TRIAL VERSION, PURCHASE FULL FOR 24.99 across the screen. |

I was just using Prism and i couldn't get it to work for some reason. I think i'm doing it wrong or something. I need somebody to explain to me how to use it step by step.

okay, i could try.
so, once you open it up, click the 'add files' button, and select your movie. At the bottom, select the output folder (the one you want teh converted video to go into when it's done). underneath the output folder thingy set the Output Format to .mp4, cause that is the iPod format. then click Convert on the bottom right. it should work. let me know!

I've got a problem. I'm trying to do what you've told me but it's not working. The first thing is that i've placed my Hellboy 2 disc into the laptop and then i clicked on the prism software and then i clicked on add files. Then I clicked on a drop down menu and i clicked on hellboy 2. However it kept taking me into other boxes like AUDIO TS and VIDEO TS. I clicked on VIDEO TS and then it had like 20 video ts to click on. I think they're supposed to be different chapters of the film. Do i click on each one?

ahhhhh.....you haven't rippped the DVDs yet. that woul explain it. you can't convert DVDs without ripping them first. i'd recommend the trial of 123CopyDVD Movies2iPod. it works REALLY well, but the trial ends unbelievablly quickly, so download it and rip all your movies now, lol. The good one about this is that it rips your dvd AND puts it in MP4 format, so as soon as it's done, it's ready for your iPod www.123copydvd.com/freetrial?product=8104 |
