Altered the list and put Angel: Drusilla #24 in it's proper place in the timeline. I left #25 off the list since we don't know when that will take place (except during Hell-A).

Very good list. I think, however, that the Buffy/Angel episodes part could be better ordered. For example: "Hearthrob" couldn't have taken place in between "Bargaining Part 1 & 2". It would have had to take place after or before. Good catch. When I did that list, I was mainly doing it with the crossovers in mind, and making sure to line those up correctly. And of course, "Bargaining" is presented as a one double-length ep on the DVDs, which would make it hard to watch "Heartthrob" in the middle of it... Good job on the comics portion, Wyn (and also hitnrun)!

Where did you see that Tales of the Slayers and Tales of the Vampires cross each other so many times that way? Did you take this from another official list or is this just your assumption based on what you've read?
'Cause if this list is actually official, I may need to go back and read the comics again using this list you've offered.
I had no idea Tales of the Slayers and Tales of the Vampires even went so far as to cross with the ongoing series. I had read them as standalone series that could be canon if one was interested, and, at the same time, if one chose not to read them wouldn't interfere with the series's (TV-wise) chronological order. I knew that they blend with the series at specific points when reading, but I had never thought about reading them this way you offered.
For someone to follow strictly your list seems rather difficult. We're talking: watch an episode of BtVS, read a comic, change DVDs, watch an episode of AtS, and so on.
I am still impressed by the list, nonetheless, especially if you didn't take it from anywhere and was based solely on what you thought would fit with canon. But if that's so, then I assume we can trust completely the list, yes?

I have never read the Buffy comics. But I remember reading somewhere that some of the comics do take part during the same time period as the TV Show itself and yet still dont interfere. I think this isn't an official list but it is correct.

Another thing I had wondered is why MySpace Dark Horse Presents's eComic Always Darkest wasn't added to the list, but Harmony Bites and Vampy Cat Play Friend were?
And is there any other place where I could read Harmony Bites and Vampy Cat Play Friend, besides on MySpace? 'Cause I don't have an account, so I couldn't read them.

Always Darkest is left unclear as to when it's occuring. Harmony Bites and Vampy Cat Play Friend are more easy to pin down in terms of chronology. Vampy Cat Play Friend happens before #22, I imagine, because the Slayers destroy all the Vampy Cats in that issue. Harmony Bites happens before #21 (again, I'm guessing) because it shows the beginning of Harmony's show before it gets really interesting and becomes a national sensation.

Harm's show only becomes a hit at the end of #21, though. Which means that "Harmony Bites" could very well just run simultaneously with "Harmonic Divergence" since the format in which it's written is very much just like an episode of the TV show. But yeah, chronologically, not very concrete.

Yeah, I'm iffy on the details of Harmony Bites. I didn't think much of it when I read it. Fluff.
I got the feeling though that Harmony's jobs as a bartender and such were showing the beginning phase of the show. And that Harmonic Divergence was after the show had been around for a while, unsuccessful and about to be cancelled, and then Soledad's attack brought it back to life. Though the issue Harmonic Divergence itself spans an unclear timeline in itself. Showing when Soledad becomes a Slayer to when she rejects Andrew and Buffy's offer to when she attacks Harmony and dies. So Harmony Bites could very well happen at some point within the timeline of Harmonic Divergence (like you said).
The best we can say is that the MDHP's happen before the ending of each corresponding issue, but don't occur long before that issue. They sort of orbit the issues #21 Harmonic Divergence and #22 Swell.

Thanks for discussing this, because that made me realize I had an incorrect listing for the Season 8 stuff. That was from an older list I was working on, not a newer list that was correct. Think I just copied the wrong list over from Word when I threw all this up here.
I corrected everything and added "Always Darkest" and "Harmony Comes to the Nation" to the S8 section!

What about all the comics in the Buffy omnibuses? Are they not considered canon? (Apart from the few listed.)

whoa, hold up. what on earth is broken bottle of Djinn?? Just had a flick through my copy of Tales of the Slayers and i couldnt see it there? It wasn't included in that TPB. It was a comic in two parts(one about a slayer from the past, one with Buffy), not sure if they were included in the same one shot. They were in a Buffy annual, can't remember which one.

Curious: did you just lump The Thrill and Carpe Noctem together in the label "S8 Tales of the Vampires"? Would make sense given that they both take place post- Predators and Prey, but was wondering if you had any opinion about their timing in relation to each other.

I updated this a bit today, adding the rest of IDW's Angel run and the Spike series. Would y'all agree that "Riley" happens after "Willow"? Curious: did you just lump The Thrill and Carpe Noctem together in the label "S8 Tales of the Vampires"? Would make sense given that they both take place post- Predators and Prey, but was wondering if you had any opinion about their timing in relation to each other. I just saw this post, silly me, but I'm not sure. I need to re-read both and then figure it out. I do need to separate the two though. Anyone else can feel free to post their thoughts on placement in the meantime though.
