Ok, who's the best? Now let me explain that this doesn't mean who is the love of Buffy's life (Dawn) or even her great romantic love (Angel in my opinion) but which was the best relationship for her?
Jeffery; very ordinary high school jock who dumps her because she's not giving him enough time and has sex with her friend at the Prom (very reminiscent of Cam in Go Fish). They at very least participate in 'heavy petting' but not full sex.
Pike; pretty much what a Buffy/Oz relationship would have been like. A good guy who according to the comics parted with Buffy in Vegas as he thought that he would get her killed if they stayed together and she had to watch out for him. They at least kiss.
Owen; Mr I'm-so-deep who turns out to be a danger junkie. Kinda lame how she ditches him and then takes up with Angel who's constantly in peril but she doesn't mind that or any of the other members of the Scoobs who join up (Jenny, Tara, Anya all killed as a result). Also kiss.
Angel; the great romantic love but whom she can never be together with due to his curse (their relationship neatly summed up by Wes and Cordy's wonderful impression in Fredless). Could their relationship work without sex? Not to judge by Buffy's fondling of the phallic crystal in Helpless or her fling with Satsu. Unlike her other boyfriends breaks her heart twice (3 times if you include 'I will remember you'). Have full sex, Buffy losing her virginity to him
Scott; Nice enough guy, they can do all the normal couple things that Angel and Buffy can't, also good with the romantic gesture. No idea how far they got physically (Faith certainly wants to know) but maybe he dumped her before they got to that stage? Later turns out to be gay but told everyone else Buffy was. As 'Six Feet Under' asserts falling in love with a gay man is a rite of passage for straight girls (and possibly lesbians too?)
Parker; strings Buffy along for a week, has sex with her but dumps her the next day.
Riley; in my opinion the best boyfriend in the conventional sense, reliable, dependable, caring and romantic. He and Buffy have marathon sex sessions and even err on the kinky side. Even liked by Joyce and Dawn (and Xander!). Unfortunately then cheats on her with vampWhores and dumps her, breaking her heart. In fairness to him it could be argued that he could never be the long term guy due to Buffy's demon essence, she 'needed some demon in her man'.
Drac; depends how far they went, she certainly let him bite her. Perhaps suitor rather than boyfriend?
Spike; loads of kinky sex but does she actually like him? She can't do the boyfriend/girlfriend things with him, she's actually ashamed of their 'relationship' and hides it from those she loves. When he gets his soul back it's another matter and they seem to have great love between them but still wouldn't call them boyfriend/girlfriend.
The Immortal; (depending if we believe the comics or 'The Girl in Question'?). Never meet him, is he a dashing Christian Slater/Freddie Prinze figure or more of an Errol Flynn/Hugh Hefner rake with Buffy the latest 'Girl of the Immortal Mansion'? He does seem to make her happy although if he doesn't age you imagine that Dawn will one day have the same talk with him as Joyce has with Angel in The Prom
Satsu; beautiful young Slayer who is the answer to a thousand slashficcer's dreams. They obviously have great sexual chemistry together and have wonderful sex but eventually break up, possibly because Buffy's not into girls in the long term or because she can't risk falling in love with a Slayer who could be killed at any time?
Actually I think Riley is probably the best boyfriend she ever had, he's relatively normal by Buffyverse standards and he does all the things a boyfriend should for her. But she doesn't love him....
