Wow. I didn't even realize that the 25th is tomorrow! Awesome! I'll have to go to the comic shop after work, woo! Only thing is, I'll be getting either the variant (Jeanty) or the regular in the mail via TFAW since they don't allow one to cancel their preorder. So I hope the comic shop has the Paul Lee cover, since I want all three.

'Not to poop on the party here' but something is at the back of my mind still as to why there hasn't been any official announcements by Joss or Dark Horse. I mean why haven't Dark Horse updated their website to show that this issue comes out 25th July??? I'll just have to wait till tomorrow evening, as that is when everyone will be talking about it... I have to get mine on thursday (stupid UK!!!) I haven't even spoilt myself, all i have seen of this issue is the two sketch pages of Paul Lee's from his interview, which will probably look completely different when inked and coloured... Sorry about the rant!!!
PREVIEW AT WHEDONESQUE!!! I... CAN'T... RESIST!!!
Okay this looks like it has been scanned into the computer very sloppily, so this means that the issues have all been printed and are ready for shipping... Ready for tomorrow...

I love the preview pages. They look great. The opening lines the decoy slayer says sound exactly like something from the show. Very bittersweet. And I thought the exact same thing about the Fairy! Faerie eggs!?

I hope the fairy is a hallucination or some such. Ich.
The preview was interesting, though. The page with the girl turning into the Slayer - with cameos from all the girls from Tales of the Slayer - was a nice touch.
Looking forward to picking this on up tomorrow.

I'm so happy with this preview. So far the comic looks deadly serious and about the things that are going on in society today, such as fascism...Go Joss!!! I believe the darkness of this issue could be like that of 'The Body' and 'Hush', standalone episodes that have a big impact on things in the buffyverse...Can't wait till tomorrow to get it!!!

Has anybody snapped it up yet because until somebody purchases it, i'm still unsure about it coming out today... I'll (and everyone) will be so disappointed if it doesn't come out till next week... What time is it where you are in America and what time are people able to buy it?!?!?

It was good. I enjoyed the narrative flow of it. I was expecting something STELLAR because of the way Dark Horse was talking about it, but it wasn't really. It was still good though. I really liked the decoy Buffy's character and I thought Paul Lee's art was great. There is an amazing little part with Andrew and Vi. One thing that annoys me though is the fairies! I just didn't get them!

Well, personally, I wasn't expecting this to be that great...but, to me it was. It wowed me, really! I thought the fairies were stupid, but other than that I felt this was beautifully told. I still prefer Georges Jeanty's art, but Paul Lee's work was great too. Best of Season 8, definitely. Hopefully they'll be this great in the future. Oh yeah, and I snagged a Paul Lee variant for $12.
