I thought Xander and Oz were quite friends. They shared a lot of scenes in S3, and Oz was the one Xander talked to about his insecurities in The Zeppo. Oz asks Xander about Willow dating someone in S4 -not to mention that Xander was the first one to greet Oz when he came back. And Xander has stated that he missed Oz later in S5.

Yeah, I agree that Xander liked Oz. I mean, who wouldn't like Oz? I think he felt that Oz was a good for Willow, just like he thought Riley was good for Buffy.
