Just thought we needed a thread where Slayalivers could talk about video games. So what are people playing at the moment? I'm re-playing Mass Effect 1 ;D to have a completely different experience for another playthrough of Mass Effect 2. EDIT: Thought i would add "Official" to the tread title

I also buy preowned a lot of the time. Gaming is expensive. And, yeah, Dead Space is pretty cool. Just curious, what other games do you like? Before Dead Space I was playing GTA: The Ballad of Gay Tony, which I thought was a lot better than The Lost And Damned. Other than that the only game I'm playing atm is L4D2, and I put a lot of hours into Skate 2 online when I'm bored. And I'm waiting patiently for Final Fantasy XIII. What about you? I like RPGs, shooters, adventure and MMORPGs a lot. I find it hard to find a good free MMO. Free ones never hold my attention. When I had the WoW trial, I got to lvl 20 in 10 days, whereas when playing Rohan (the free one) I've been at lvl 26 forever because it gets really boring and I don't want to even play it anymore. Gotta continue my second playthrough of Mass Effect aswell. Thanks for the reminder, lurchibald.

I've never really had any friends or family who were gamers, so I grew up playing alone. I also like games with humor and a few artsy games. Some of my favorite games / game series: Metroid, Prince of Persia, Psychonauts, Okami, Crackdown, Ratchet & Clank, God of War, Flower, Batman: Arkham Asylum, American McGee's Alice, BioShock and the list goes on. I've been keeping my eye on FFXIII, but what I'm really excited for is 3D Dot Game Heroes. It's a big throw back to the old Zelda games and it looks fantastic. If anyone is interested look here and here for more info. Also if anyone is interested Amazon.com is having a buy two get one free sale on Xbox 360 platinum hits. I think it's gonna last for a few days. I'm not sure if it's going on in other countries, but here is the link to the American site.

I used to play the PS with my brother a lot, and our sister who's way older than us has always been into games, and so she's passed that onto her kids. Now my brother doesn't really play games, but my nephew does so I get to shoot stuff with him. Do you play any multiplayers online at all? Resident Evil 2 was always one of my favourite games, which I haven't played in about 9 years so I really want to pick up a copy. And Abe's Oddysee. That game gave so much fun. I love Prince of Persia. I was really let down by the latest game though, so much so that I haven't even finished it. Farah > Erika. I hate Erika. 3D Dot Heroes looks really interesting. But I don't have a PS3 yet. I'm really annoyed that Uncharted isn't available on the 360 too. If that's mass effect 1 you are playing Isabelle don't forget to keep the save for mass effect 2 Also looking foward to Bioshock 2, should be awesome! Ha, I know! I overwrote my first playthrough accidentally, which I wanted to keep for Mass Effect 2. Still gotta play Bioshock. Played the demo and really liked it.

My sister's hate video games with the exception of Guitar Hero and Rock Band which I'm pretty sick of. And no, I don't really ever play online. I'm too cheap to pay for the subscription to Xbox Live and I don't really have any multiplayer games for my PS3. I should gets some, but, again, I'm cheap. I love Prince of Persia. I was really let down by the latest game though, so much so that I haven't even finished it. Farah > Erika. I hate Erika. I was let down by it too! Thanks! I've see that Buffy game for sale at one of my local video game stores, how is it? It's really good!...very old school ps2 graphics compared to the other games everyone's talking about lol. I love hearing the real actors voices of Tara, Spike, Xander, and Giles....which then makes me have one peeves about the game which is that Buffy and Willow's voice don't sound like the characters....especially Willow. I'm also really looking forward to Final Fantasy XIII and God of War III, out next month. me too with God of War!!! so excited!! I love GoW!

Yeah, I'm definitely gonna pick up Bioshock sometime soon I reckon.

Yeah, Farrah was pretty great. I'm pissed they changed her name in the movie, otherwise the trailers actually looks ok. Have you ever played Warrior Within? I took the liberty of looking up BioShock on amazon.co.uk and the Classics version goes for £13 while the one that includes Oblivion is just £3 more. Considering how amazing BioShock is I wouldn't mind paying those prices. I actually paid about $25 (£17) when I bought my Platinum hits copy just under a year ago. I'm currently replaying BioShock while waiting for BioShock 2 to come out. So excited! I don't have the cash to pick up BioShock 2 right now, but now that you mention it, giving the original a play through sounds like fun right now.

I made a little questionnaire that we can use to see what systems everyone plays on, and hopefully connect online, add to friend's lists and all that:
What game consoles do you currently play?
What is your XBOX Live Gamertag/PlayStation Network ID?
What game(s) are you currently playing?
What game(s) are you looking forward to?
What’s your favorite game series?
Now a toughie: What are your top 10 favorite games?
What game consoles do you currently play? - PlayStation 3, and Wii to a lesser extent (I only play first party titles like Mario/Zelda on it)
What is your XBOX Live Gamertag/PlayStation Network ID? - PSN ID: Wyndam22, I am on all the time!
What game(s) are you currently playing? - White Knight Chronicles, Uncharted 2 (multiplayer)
What game(s) are you looking forward to? - BioShock 2, Heavy Rain, Final Fantasy XIII, God of War III, Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening
What’s your favorite game series? - Resident Evil, easily
Now a toughie: What are your top 10 favorite games? I'm keeping this list to single titles only, and one per game series (I could fill half of it up with Resident Evil games).
1. Resident Evil 2 (PSX) 2. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (Mac) 3. Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3) 4. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (PS3) 5. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) 6. World of Warcraft (Mac) 7. Dragon Age: Origins (PS3) 8. Super Mario Galaxy (Wii) 9. Xenosaga Episode I: Dur Wille zur Macht (PS2) 10. Kingdom Hearts (PS2)

What game consoles do you currently play? I have my PS3, which quite sadly, is mostly a glorified DVD/Blu-ray player these days...
What is your XBOX Live Gamertag/PlayStation Network ID? wenxina - I rarely sign on, since I never play multi-player games... gaming to me is a sacred lonely quest. Also, games I like are usually best enjoyed alone, without the need for competition, or yammering...
What game(s) are you currently playing? Hmmm... not actually playing anything at the moment, but I haven't finished Assassin's Creed yet, and I still have Assassin's Creed 2 to start (guess I shouldn't have bothered buying it when it came out...). My most recent completed game was Uncharted 2.
What game(s) are you looking forward to? Personally, not really looking forward to any coz I don't have the time to. But maybe I'll throwdown for the 2-in-1 God of War package before buying the third installment. I liked watching my boyfriend play Bioshock, so perhaps that'll be another fun viewfest. I live vicariously through the enjoyment of others for games which I don't play.
What’s your favorite game series? Tied between Tomb Raider (the Crystal Dynamics titles are really good) and Prince of Persia (though, the latest installment was somewhat of a letdown in terms of gameplay... they made the platforming too easy).
Now a toughie: What are your top 10 favorite games? 1. Mortal Kombat 2. Street Fighter 2 3. Tomb Raider: Legend 4. Tomb Raider: Underworld 5. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time 6. Prince of Persia: The Warrior Within 7. Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones 8. Crash Bandicoot 9. Super Mario World 10. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

What game consoles do you currently play? PS3, 360, Wii, DS, Mac (pretty much just casual titles). My other game consoles I don't play much: NES / SNES clone combo, N64, PS2, GameCube, GBA, PSP.
What is your XBOX Live Gamertag/PlayStation Network ID? I don't have a Xbox Live Gold subscription, but my PSN is bioclank. The only multiplayer game I have right now is LittleBigPlanet, but add me if you want.
What game(s) are you currently playing? Dragon Age: Origins, mostly. I've been meaning to get back to my God of War Collection, but ehhh.
What game(s) are you looking forward to? Near-term: BioShock 2, Aliens vs. Predator, Metroid: Other M, Heavy Rain, 3D Dot Game Heroes. Longer-term: The Return of American McGee's Alice, Okamiden, Batman: Arkham Asylum 2.
What’s your favorite game series? Oh gosh. This is hard. I think Prince of Persia, maybe Metroid. A few years ago I probably would've said Destroy All Humans!, but one horrible spin-off and a hideous sequel later, I just don't really care anymore.
Now a toughie: What are your top 10 favorite games? Ehhhh. More hardness. OK, here it is, with a little bit of cheesy commentary:
10.) Katamari Damacy This is the most bizarre game I've ever played. Awesomely bizarre, that is. I love it's originality and it's addicting gameplay.
09.) American McGee's Alice Another bizarre game and once again, it's one of the main reason I love it so much. The environments are also amazing and why I'm so excited for it's HD sequel.
08.) Ratchet & Clank An editor on a gaming blog I regular once compared Ratchet & Clank to comfort food and I can't agree more. And isn't Clank just the cutest little thing? That laugh of his!
07.) Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition Don't laugh, ok? I used to love Pokémon when I was younger and, in spite of me not often admitting it, I still sort of do. What can I say? The series is good fun. I hate it when people use the word "nostalgia", but this game brings back good memories.
06.) Okami A gorgeous game with a highly enjoyable story. I enjoy the nature themes of Okami, plus Amaterasu is badass.
05.) BioShock A terribly engrossing game, which makes it all the more terrifying when Splicers creep up on you. It also has cool twist ending and I love a good twist ending.
04.) Destroy All Humans! This was my favorite game for a very long time, but over a few years I find I have grown out of it. OK, the humor can be slightly immature (although it's not nearly as bad as some of the other games in the series), but it is still pretty funny. Also, the B-movie jokes and parodies puts me in nerd heaven!
03.) Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time This game is pretty much a masterpiece. The characters, the dialog, the perfect adaptation of it's 2D predecessor's gameplay. It's good game all around. I also love the story because, among other thing, I have a totally unexplainable obsession with time-travel and everything related to it.
02.) Metroid Prime I've got to compare this to BioShock a little because of how engrossing they are (as I mentioned before) and because of the total isolation you feel (and the fear that comes with it). Once again comparing it to a previous game I mentioned, I think it, like The Sands of Time, it does an excellent job of adapting the gameplay of the 2D games that came before it into 3D.
01.) Psychonauts If Tim Burton created games... This is the type of game the he wished he could create. Maybe you can tell from my list, I love bizarre and funny games, so I guess it's fitting that Psychonauts takes the top spot. I don't think any single person whose played this game (which is sadly, not a huge number of people) cannot liked it. Solving the local crazies' emotional problems by literally going into their minds? Hilarious! Going through a gigantic obstacle course in your teachers brain while balancing on a big energy ball? Fun as hell! If haven't already, go buy it now... Like, right now.

I added you to my PS3 friend's list, Eric. I play LittleBigPlanet occasionally myself. Great top ten list as well. I REALLY wanted to get a Pokemon game in my Top 10 list, as they are some of my favorite RPG's, but I just couldn't leave out any of the others.
I'm a big Ratchet and Clank fan as well, have you played the PS3 games? I just finished A Crack in Time recently and loved it.
