Canon: Willow/Tara all the way. And I'm a Bangel fan (as opposed to Spuffy).
Non Canon: Angel/Wesley. No cute name as far as I'm aware, but they are definitely my OTP (though I love Xangel too).
I agree that Xangel is a major fanboy/girl dream.

I'm hardcore Wiffy (Buffy/Willow), just cause that's been my dream since the first episode aired...lol.
The only ones I was never really completely okay with happened in season 3...which is probably my least favorite season anyways. I hated the B/A ship during that time, and W/O drove me crazy, not to mention the suckiness of the X/C relationship. The only good things about season 3 for me were Faith and Band Candy. LOL.

Buffy/Xander is about the only one that I think might begin to lose me. If it happened, I wouldn't be one of those people who throws down the comic, walks away in a huff, and refuses to buy any more, but I think my enjoyment of them would take a hit. Anyway, the 'ships were never the main thing that drew me into the show, but canon-wise, I guess I like just about all the established ones: Buffy/Angel, Buffy/Spike, Willow/Tara, Willow/Oz, Xander/Anya, Giles/Jenny, etc. In fact, between both shows, probably the only one that was just terrible was Angel/Cordy. Okay, Connor/Evil Cordy was pretty bad, too. Non-canon, gotta go with Buffy/Faith and Xander/Willow (but only pre-S4; any later than that starts to get as squicky as Buffy/Xander... )

How do you come up with 'non-canon' for Xander/Willow? They spent 4 straight episodes making out. No spell involved. Canon.
I think Buffy/Xander would be about the most logical place to take their romantic arcs if Joss knew he was wrapping up his canon story telling. Buffy is basically the series' idealized, "message" woman, and Xander is, by default, the "message" man -- the man who figures out how to still be a man in the company of powerful and independent women. Might as well put 'em together, especially since Buffy/Xander was literally the first 'shippy dynamic established in the entire series.

Wiffy is my OTS.
I'd also totally love Bander.
I hate Spuffy with the fury of a thousand suns.

Spander is my favorite! (Spike/Xander)
I also have a soft spot for Xangel but I like Xangelus more.
As for the comics, I like the idea of Xander/Buffy but I wish it won't happen, they're much more special as friends, especially the close friends they are now. Their friendship in S7 was wonderful, they were family, they took care of Dawn, and even though Spike was Buffy's favorite person, she still trusted no one with Dawn but Xander, that shows how special their relationship is, Xander was able to reach Buffy's heart and trust without being a love interest.

I could spend 1000 hours listening to it explained, and I still don't think I'll ever understand the appeal in 'shipping people outside their preferred gender. The only reason Buffy/Faith has anything for me is that it was being explicitly worked into scripts by Doug Petrie, so it's not *entirely* up to the imagination. The only reason Xander/Willow or Willow/Oz do is because they're canon and it's at least plausible that those two would have an emotional "in".
Ah well.
I also liked Cordy/Angel pretty well. I actually like Angel/Nina, although I think she deserved far better than how she was being treated by him. I also like Willow/Kennedy, almost entirely on the strength of "Anywhere But Here".

The Spike/Xander subtext was deliberate in Hush and Beneath You, too, if I'm remembering Jane Espenson's Q&A correctly.

The "subtext" was a sight gag in "Beneath You"... but whatever. And I don't know how deliberate or significant it was meant to be in "Hush", where Xander beats the hell out of him because he thinks he was attacking Anya. It's not quite the same as Petrie writing a kiss, is it? The whole trend is equal parts amusing, confusing, and annoying

Has everyone seen that spoof kiss between spike and xander? - it's an outtake but it's pretty funny hahaha. If willow ever got with a guy, i'd be heartbroken I just couldn't enjoy her in a relationship with a man, i don't even know if i could read it, it would completely rub me up the wrong way. For some reason though i have no problem watching her in the earlyer seasons..., i guess i just think of it as, sexuality can be very flexible so she took whatever she could get with guys and enjoyed it to the full, but discovered a whole new level with Tara. I mean willow's never refered to herself as bi..., so i'm assuming she realised she was lesbian when she found tara. But now, if she got with guy, in my head, it would be like completely belittling that whole image that i got from her in the series. So. Yeah. Not gonna happen, i hope!!

How do you come up with 'non-canon' for Xander/Willow? They spent 4 straight episodes making out. No spell involved. Canon. Guess it depends what you consider a 'relationship'. I was thinking more along the lines of actual dates and the normal boyfriend/girlfriend dynamic than just hiding behind the stacks in the library, making out, but whatever--I'll grant the point and call 'em canon, after all. It was late and I was sleepy, and not logic-izing too well. I don't care about "logic" or thematic statements. I care that the story has gone along long enough now to establish them as, for all intents and purposes, brother & sister. Extremely high "ick" factor at this point. It'd be about two steps away from Buffy sleeping with Dawn. Again: "ick". I'm not a hard-core Buffy/Angel-er, but if Joss knew he were wrapping up his canon storytelling, once and for all, I hope he'd either have the two of them finally end up together, and reward the fans who've stuck with him since the beginning, just dying to see that one day, or else leave her love-life open-ended and allow the viewer/reader to imagine it however he/she wants...

Xander usually gets the short-end on the 'canon' 'ship thing. More often than not, you'll find Xander/Willow and Xander/Faith written off as non-canon, despite him having 2 seasons of tension and a quarter season of making out with one and had sex with the other. Other characters can share a smoldering look, and, wham, canon 'ship.
I don't agree that the story has done any such thing as deliberately establish them as brother and sister. I think that's mostly sandbagging done against the idea by fans of other 'ships. Certainly, when you hear Greenwalt on the "Reptile Boy" commentary refer to the plan (at the time it was recorded) to get them together, when you hear Jane Espenson on the "I Was Made to Love You" commentary refer to deliberately given them a little romantic tension because the writers tried to keep that viable as a romance, when you hear interviews that refer to their having been a ready-to-go plan, endorsed by both actors, to make them a couple in Season 7 that got scrapped... when you consider all that, there's no way you can also argue that the show intended to set up a sibling dynamic as this immutable truth of their relationship.
Best case scenario for them is that Buffy/Xander gets at least enough up front treatment that he will get to join Spike and Angel on the fence where Joss keeps Buffy's past and future relationships sitting on.

See, I don't really get that. The Xander/Buffy fans have stuck with their 'ship since the beginning, too, and the Spike/Buffy fans have only been 'supporting theirs 3-4 years less than the other two groups -- which is a miniscule difference, considering Season 1 started in 1997 and Season 9 will end around, what, 2015? What makes them any less "worthy" than the Angel/Buffy fans? At the end of the day, I think an open ending would be best, because it would be fair to all 'shipper groups and it would leave them wanting more, which has always been Joss's preferred tactic. He had the chance to stop fence-sitting in Chosen, and again in The Girl in Question, and we got cookie dough in both cases. I can't really see that changing. Has everyone seen that spoof kiss between spike and xander? - it's an outtake but it's pretty funny hahaha. Audience Member: Everyone seems to have seen a photo of you kissing Nick Brendon... James Marsters: I don't know. Did I kiss Nick? Maybe I did... He does have a sweet mouth. And yeah, that outtake is hilarious. *g*

Enisy is right... there's almost no chance Joss is going to have a definitive "this is who she ends up with" ending to Buffy's story whenever he decides to leap past it.
