I picked Cavemen because the scenario states that the astronauts have no weapons. Cavemen will think of nothing but survival and will do whatever to have it happen. Astronauts are going to think it all out and miss the one caveman jumping at him from behind. Yes, they're trained but humans get weaker all the time and less in tune with their instincts. Does anybody here watch the old Star Treks? It's a common thing in science fiction for creatures to become so smart they lose their ability to use their bodies. The proof is in the pudding that our bodies are getting weaker as we are making our lives simpler. There is an original series Star Trek where creatures like these were actually slowly dying because they used their bodies so little.

Cavemen. They aren't going to bother to think about how to attack next they are just going to keep attacking.

No weapons, nothing that the austronauts can use to win? Then the cavemen, who probably have grown up in a society where they're used to fighting for their lives against animals (and possibly other cavemen, for dominance), would win. Of course, it's not like I know that much about cavemen.

How the cavemen won this is beyond me. Personally I feel a well thought out plan and strategy can win out over brute force any day. Lets face it, the whole point of the debate is less about the specific titles and more about whether intelligence can beat physical strength. And if you wanted to boil it down to the specific titles, astronauts are not just scientist in space outfits...usually (although not always) they are well trained military officers or pilots with similar hand to hand combat training as soldiers who go into war zones.

Have you seen Outlander with Jim Caviezel? An alien (warrior, advanced weaponry) crushes his spaceship near an Iron Age Viking village. He didn't even saw them coming.

Can't say I've seen that, but given that Outlander is a fictional movie it holds little weight in your argument. Sorry hunnies, but Cavemen won, and I tihnk it's best if you just come to terms with that fact. Obviously I'll have to accept that the majority of members here believe that cavemen would ground astronauts into a fine powder, but that doesn't mean I have to believe that the majority is right.

But, sorry for not being clear. Astronauts (modern day human beings) are too dependent on advanced technology, medicine, practice sports in controlled environment with adequate equipment, they've lost their survival skills (provide food/shelter with bare hands and I'm not very sure of their immunity system without antibiotics). Try it for yourself: stay for a week without power.
