Oh my God that was the first thing I noticed. "WHERE IS BLUE?!?!"
Otherwise, agree on portrait-y-ness (ow, my suffixes hurt!) but still overall generally quality work.

Well now I feel bad for never noticing he had blue eyes.

OP updated with cover and solicitation in the spoiler tags. On another note... Spike's eyes are blue? Never realized... and coming to think of it, never really cared either. I couldn't tell you the color of my own eyes if I didn't see them in the mirror all the time. ETA: Jeanty's cover HERE. LOL!

And that's gonna spark as many Ship Wars as the New Moon original did, I'm sure...
Georges is really bringing it lately with the covers.

Great Jeanty cover, leagues better than Chen's imo. I like art to actually mean something, not just look pretty. Though I feel Season 8 or rather we fans have lost the right to say BtVS pwns Twilight.

Eh I can't really agree with that. I'd happily read "Safe" or watch "Where the Wild Things Are," arguably Buffy at its worst, than read Twilight at its best (Eclipse).

Bahahaha, Jeanty's cover is brilliant. Good show, chap, good show! I'm probably gonna get the Jeanty only this time. Cover continuity be damned!

I don't know if I love of hate the Jeanty cover. The art is great, but since I consider Spike and Edward the "good" guys and Angel and Jacob the guys who are "bad" (or at the very least immature), I think Spike and Angel need to change place.

I'd rather read "Twilight" than read "Safe". And I'd surely rather read "Twilight" than read #34. Season 8 lowering itself to parody "Twilight" has made itself even crackier than Twilight. There's nothing in "Twilight" that is as bad as space frakking compelled by glowhypnol created by the intelligent design of a sentient universe. That one moment is what I consider to be Buffy's lowest point ever and "Twilight" can't even dare to compare. Even the ending in "Breaking Dawn" which was so unbelievably lame and cracktastic doesn't touch it. Click Here for some correct eye coloring. Xi, it's fine that not all fans notice Spike's eye color. But considering that Chen creates her covers from referencing pictures of the actors, she doesn't get the same leeway. It's the same as you staring in a mirror and not noticing your own eye color. Chen stared at a picture like this: And didn't realize Spike's eyes were blue. That's... pretty bad observation skills for an artist. ETA: I just got word that the eye color for Chen's cover will be "tweaked". So hopefully fixed before going for mass printing. Cool.

Did a fan edit that cover, Emmie? Also, I'm a fan of the covers. My favorite cover set in a long time(Where I like both). I usually just like Chen's covers, because of their realistic features. On first thought, I'd hate thinking of a Buffy/Twilight parody,... But it was do pretty well, and not overdone. I think I dig it.

Buffy having sex in space can't compare to the stupidity of Bella's character. As for it being Buffy's lowest moment... meh, I don't think so. Basically the same thing as Where the Wild Things Are, just on a more epic scale. I kind of like the placement of the characters on the cover. Without comparing Spike and Angel to Jacob and Edward (bad/good), it sort of seems like Spike is protecting Buffy from Twangel.

With Buffy, even at its worst, I can still just sit back and enjoy it. That's what I'm doing with Season 8, just enjoying the ride. I'll wait and pass judgement when the season is finished. There are issues and worries (Angel), obviously, but again, I can detach and say "well that was cool" and go about my day.
I detest Twilight more for what it's done to the vampire genre, than the quality of the books. The books themselves are easy, escapist reads, except for Breaking Dawn which might have been the worst thing I've ever read.

Basically the same thing as Where the Wild Things Are, just on a more epic scale. Disagree. BtVS held to a higher standard until #34. "Twilight" has always been held to a lower standard. BtVS lowered itself to parody "Twilight" which boggles my mind. How about instead of mocking such an easy target as "Twilight", just tell a kickass story? Meh. BtVS made a mockery of "Twilight" by being BETTER. Now apparently BtVS needs to actively mock "Twilight" 'cause it's so hugely successful. My, these grapes are sour. It's fine for the fans to mock "Twilight". It's fine for fanfic. It's fine for SNL. But I want more than "Twilight" mockery from BtVS. Jeez. VampSlayer, yep, fan-edited. But apparently the actual cover is going to fix the eye color, too, thankfully.
