I think Angel will be in this arc alot despite the interpreatation he wont be. I just think it'll be one of those really omniscent comics where we see whats going on with Angel, Eddie and connor/the group but yet they are all not connected.

I just think it'll be one of those really omniscent comics where we see whats going on with Angel, Eddie and connor/the group but yet they are all not connected. Eddie Hope's stories are being billed as "back-up stories" which means they'll be in the back of the book, after the main issue itself has reached its last panel. They probably won't be very long, at least at first.

Yea I know and I remember reading in Willinghams interview they said they would eventually connect at some pt. What I mean is I wouldnt be surprised while reading the regular story to see connor talking to kate or someone on one page and on the next see where angel is for a moment with thought dialogue boxes, then back to the connor stuff.

In #28 Angel said that his blood was getting pumped out of him, and new blood pumped in. I wonder, then, if his blood is being used to sire other people without him having any bodily control over it whatsoever? It would be an interesting spin on how vampires have been sired in the Buffyverse, but it makes sense, considering that blood is all that really does it (the act of biting just used as a tool to drain the victims. So Innovation Labs is sucking Angel's blood out, injecting it into whoever they are vamping, and then sucking their blood out and injecting it into Angel. I'm already looking forward to the royal ass kicking Angel will eventually dish out.

Someone's building an army of the undead? Well, at least that's the first thing that came to mind. The next would be very Bioshock-ish... People think that vampires are cool... well, if you can bottle it up and market it, there'll be buyers.

Yeah, definitely, plus I believe it was said that: Innovation Labs is siring movie stars.

According to IDW's January newsletter, Angel #29 is out next week, January 13th! Same day as Buffy I believe.

Nice, high quality preview pages for #29 have arrived! I really enjoyed the preview and Willingham is having a lot of fun with Angel's celebrity status. The dialogue in the coffee shop is great and the art is solid throughout. I'm especially loving Denham's Angel, he looks great in every panel. The new colorist is also solid once again. Denham did a better job with a bunch of faces in one panel as the crowd gathers around Angel, so we'll have to see how he does the next time he has a bunch of Team Angel in one panel again. I wonder if they will even be in this issue, or if it will focus entirely on how Angel gets captured by Innovation Labs? The bald guy spewing promises reminds me a lot of Wolfram and Hart when Team Angel joined, so those parallels are cool. I wonder if Angel gets duped by someone from Innovation Labs with a false promise of keeping his face out of the news or helping him avoid the paparazzi or something?

Since when does Angel randomly go out to coffee shops? Pretty sure he'd rather drink coffee in his office... alone, or with his friends. The arts still a bit so-so. The pencils aren't bad, but the inking could be stronger, IMO.
Interesting preview, despite the contrivance of Angel being out in public for no reason. I'm a bit confused by Angel's celebrity. In Boys and Their Toys, it seems as though people were denying things and Angel himself was being forgotten, replaced by fictional "Angel Cartwright". Nobody at the convention seemed to recognise or care about the real Angel. Now he's A-list again. Is this inconsistant, or am I just overthinking it?

the Way I figure it Paul is that in Boys and their toys since it was in san diego and at a convention with everyone in costume noone knew to treat him like a celebrity since they had no reason to believe he was the real Angel. I think the only real people who treat him like a celebrity were people who were in the Hell moment and knew what he did beyond a shadow of a doubt ex: Saw the fight with the Lords, all of whom are most likely in LA.

Yeah, since Angel wasn't at a booth signing autographs, most attendees probably figured he was Angel-in-costume.

Ya I agree...it was only the city of Los Angeles that went to hell...not California. So the only people there that would have recognised him were people from LA. Here is another page (6) from Comics Continuum. Starts out funny....but actually is heartbreaking.

Wow, what a great, unexpected way to end that scene. Angel's expression looks great at well. Colour me impressed.
