"and Illyria decides not to take Angel's continued absence lying down." *pre-orders* YES!! This line alone just makes me jump for joy, and the Eddie Hope line also has me sooooooo excited.

A great, albeit, creepy cover. Very clever.
That Illyria line is very interesting. She was probably the last person I'd expect that from. Sounds exciting.

Bollocks... where are the bollocks?! First they neuter him, figuratively speaking. Now they really neuter him.

I really love Jenny's cover. After her first iffy cover, all the rest have been just great. I love how each has its own unique imagery and cover palette. I love what she did with the transfusion tubes here, and how defeated and dead Angel's eyes look.
I hope she posts a higher quality cover on her deviantART page soon, because whoever is resizing and saving these covers over at IDW to send to outlets needs to learn how to save in the proper high quality in Photoshop.

Better yet: YOU should get the job, WynDAYUM. I'm really a fan of Jenny's work so far. Definitely one of my favorite cover artists of everyone who's worked on Angel, and maybe third in terms of overall artwork (after Messina and Urru, of course). But maybe that's unfair, I haven't seen if she's done any interior work. But her covers make me smile every time - that's a tough thing to do consistently.

Hmmm... never noticed the fruit before, but those are pomegranates... In Greek mythology, Hades tricked Persephone into eating the seeds of a pomegranate. Because of that, she's doomed to spend a certain amount of time with him every year in the Underworld. The time she spends there, Demeter, Persephone's mother mourns, and there is no harvest. It's basically the explanation for the seasons. Thus, pomegranates are kinda associated with death... Jo Chen used the same imagery for her Tales... one-shot cover.

Pomegranates are tricky, they have many different kind of meanings. From the symbol of kings (the crown on the fruit) to the symbole of righteousness to symbol of everything what is good, created by god to indeed death. Plus some more things like the sweetness of the kingdom of heaven etc. And a pomegrate which is opened, is a symbol for Jesus; his suffering and resurrection. There are much more, all listed on wikipedia but I guess we have to read the issue before finding out what Jenny meant.
Is this issue still part of the crown syndrome cycle? Because in that case I guess that it stands for 'king'.
I really love this cover, by far my favourite. (although the Old Year, New Year cover was amazing as well)

Is there going to be a cover that matches the previous one?; The covers with Angel and Eddie?
I ask, because I bought 28-30 today, but the store only had the Angel/Eddie covers. I like keeping in the same pattern, so I'd hate to get one that didn't match. (Yes, I'm picky. xD)

The solicit says that Messina is providing a cover, so I'd imagine we'll see it when the preview for this issue is released.

Heh... Messina's Eddie looks like the guy from Prison Break. Wentworth Miller, was it? Also one of the guys on the swim team that went mutant.
