-UEA -Bristol -Sheffield -Newcastle -York -Durham - and maybe Oxford, my History teacher thinks it's worth a shot but it seems pretty unrealistic to me

@billie, they may say 15th, it's worth noting that some uni's take apps until the end of June, althought your chance of a place if you apply that late are like.... zero. Fray, your college will take you through the process next year, I'm assuming they will tell you about UCAS, which is the site you use to apply, you'll have to fill in details, provide a personal statement and also get a reference (mine was my college tutor, despite never going to tutor but she gave me a positive reference cos she emailed it to me (most won't)) You'll then complete a grade section a choice section and something else, could be a payment section of £15 for the admin charges. There is about 6 sections if memory serves me right. It's easy and all self-explanitory it just seems like a lot! ha. Thanks, that really helped me to relax more, thanks.

Durham, apparently you'll either love or hate... my housemate went there for 2 years but then changed course and came to Plymouth. I didn't see any of the others as they're up north whereas at the time I was looking at local uni's down south. I have heard that Durham can be a bit . . . ummm . . . what's a nice word for boring? I'm in the Midlands so luckily nothing's too far away really, but Newcastle did take about 3-4 hours to reach. I never really thought about distance when choosing, and now it's beginnignt o worry me a bit. I don't know if I've already said this but I want to do History, just out of interest what are you studying? I missed the University of East Anglia open day which really annoyed me, but they said it's an open campus so I'm just going to go up and have a nsoy around one day.

I applied this year and am off to uni in a few months (depending on if I actually get the grades). My friend wanted to go to either York or Durham but looked round York and found it to be rather a dump (such a shame, it is a lovely city) and after a taster day at Durhum decided she'd rather go somewhere less academic but more comfortable. I, on the other hand, did not apply anywhere academic as in my AS I got BCDE, and you've probably heard this before but I'm going to warn you that A2 is alot harder than AS! You really have to start putting more effort in and actualy working in free periods (I didn't and I really regret it).
Incase anyone wants to know my plan is to go to DeMontfort (in leicester) and study Psychology. It isn't actually my first choice but I don't think I'm going to get the grades for that.
