Didn't see this posted anywhere, so hopefully I didn't miss it if it was. Got this email today. . . WE'RE HAVING A BUFFY BASH IN BOSTON THIS OCTOBER! CineQuest.com, in partnership with Wizard Entertainment, is bringing six of our favorite Buffy and Angel starsl to the inaugural Wizard World New England Comic Con, Oct. 15-17 at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston. James Marsters, Charisma Carpenter, Nicholas Brendon, Amber Benson, Clare Kramer and Mercedes McNab are all scheduled to appear at the “Buffy Boston Bash” festival being done in partnership with CineQuest.com. The six guests will greet fans and participate in panels and discussions that highlight their roles in popular Joss Whedon television series such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. Marsters, who played the vampire Spike in both series, was a big hit at the Philadelphia Comic Con earlier this month. His TV credits also include recurring roles in Caprica and Smallville. An accomplished singer, Marsters also crossed the pond with a memorable recurring role as Captain John Hart in the hit BBC Doctor Who spinoff, Torchwood. Carpenter, who portrayed Cordelia Chase in both series, also has roles in Charmed, Greek, Legends of the Seeker and in Veronica Mars as the scheming Kendall Casablancas among her more than 30 credits. This summer she’ll play opposite Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham in this summer’s major action film The Expendables. Brendon, who played Xander Harris, Buffy’s reliable and clown-fearing sidekick, has also been seen on Kitchen Confidential, Without a Trace and in a recurring role as Kevin Lynch in Criminal Minds. Benson, who played Willow’s beloved Tara Maclay on Buffy and the vampire Lenore on Supernatural, is an independent film maker (her most recent film is Drones) and author of Penguin Books’ popular Death’s Daughter books. Kramer, an actress, producer and restaurateur, played Glory, the evil goddess with a fashion sense, in Buffy and just completed production on two films, Endure and The Dead Ones, scheduled to be released this year. She starred with fellow Buffy/Angel alum Eliza “Faith” Dushku in the cheerleader film Bring It On and Tru Calling. She was also a popular guest at Philadelphia Comic Con this month. McNab reprised her Harmony Kendall role in Angel after portraying the unicorn-loving vampire in Buffy. She has appeared in more than 30 movies and TV shows. She’s also graced the pages and covers of both Playboy and FHM magazines. The Buffy Boston Bash also will feature James Marsters in concert, a screening of Amber Benson’s new independent film Drones, the largest-ever Buffy/Angel retail store and the premiere of new Buffy-related exclusive products. We'll be putting up special ticket packages in the next week that will include three-day passes, autographs and photo opportunities with all the stars!

The only thing stopping me from going to this is death. A friend who also likes Buffy goes to school in Boston so we'll be hitting it up. Doubt I'll go for all three days, so I'll wait to see which day is the best before buying tickets. Gotta limit myself money-wise though, I'd go crazy at the retail store.
Been waiting for something like this in New England for forever. The Wizard convention in 2005 was real bust because of the crappy way they handled meeting Eliza so hopefully this will be better.

I live about an hour from Boston so I am definitely going to this. I will be saving money until the day of the convention. I'm going with my b/f and he's not in to Buffy so I'll only be going for one day. Either Saturday or Sunday. I'm so excited for this convention. Before this was posted I thought that Boston was getting screwed because Buffy cast members were attending every other con except NE. I have been proven wrong and I'm glad! Anyone else going?

Oh my lord... I have to see what my schedule is like in October, but this is actually close enough for me that I can go to it! I haven't been to Boston in a while, and I've never attended a Buffy event. Seems like a good idea.

I WISH I could go, but I probably can't afford the airfair up there for it. Its just slightly out of driving range for me. Then add in admission and hotel stay. So a big sigh to this one.
But wanted everyone else to know about it at least

I have decided that I am definitely going to this. Now all I have to do is figure out how. It would be so easy if it didn't involve driving to Boston. I remember the last time I drove there, my Garmin decided not to work and then... uggghhh flashbacks to Boston roads, ughgggh. But I am saving up for a hotel room, and trying to convince some friends to go with me. I will be very disappointed if I end up not being able to attend.

Days away from buying tickets. Best-weekend-ever.
Can't wait till they put the photo op tickets up. Highly doubt I can afford all, so it's gunna be a tough decision. Charisma and Mercedes are the most tempting though....

I'm going. When do you think they will put out the schedule?

Probably a week or two before it starts, that's usually the case with the cons I have been to. Uggggh, I am having so much trouble planning this trip, it's so frustrating. I feel like I am not going to be able to go because my planning skills are too poor and I can't get enough people to put in for a hotel room. I feel like I'll have such an amazing time though if I can actually get this trip together. Heres hoping.

Aw that's upsetting. I still might give it a go just because my love for Harmony knows no bounds, but still in the process of deciding. Here's hoping she'll be in a good mood! Can't believe the cost for a freaking photo, more than the actual ticket to get in. Probably a week or two before it starts, that's usually the case with the cons I have been to. Bus/drive in the morning, and then back when it's over. That's how I'll be going about it.

I just bought a ticket to dinner with Nick through his website. I am so excited. I hope it's worth the money. I hope I don't freeze up and can actually chat with him.

Do you think they will have a Buffy Sing Along that weekend? Or did Fox totally put the kibosh on those?

I might have to only go for a day, but I was hoping for at least two... It would be cheaper to drive to and from with those hotel prices. I live two hours away though, and I really really hate driving in Boston. OH MY GOD! they just released the VIP packages, I want to go so badly, I am exploding with desire right now. Freakining out in a good way... needs ...wants

Just looked at the VIP packages. Wow. I can't afford any of the "Buffy" packages, but I was thinking about going for the Amber Benson package. Trying to do the math and also calculate how crowded it will be. Do you think the Amber Benson VIP pkg is worth it, meaning cost-effective? I planned to get her autograph or photo op. I wanted to see her movie. I wonder when they will give more information about the panels, like when they will be held. Will all the Buffy guests appear in one panel, or just their own panels?

Here's a question for Con veterans: how difficult is it to get seats at panel discussions and other events if you don't have a VIP pass?

I wanted to go for the James Marsters package but even the cheapest one is way out of my price range. So I am thinking that I'll either go for Nick, Amber, or Charisma, whichever one the friend I am going with wants to go to. Also I might not even be able to afford one of those, and I know I can definitely only go for two days due to the hotel prices.
Zeppo Tomorrow, I am going to ask some friends who have been to the Hynes center before, and then I shall get back to you, because I don't know how big the pannel rooms are there, and that is what it would depend upon... also the number of people going. But seeing as how they are special guest their panels will probably be in a fairly large room, if not one of the main halls. Although I'm just guessing, I've only been to Ctcon and that place is alot smaller.

New England Comic Con replied to a FB post about the VIP packages. From the reply, it sounds like the Buffy events will cost more and can be bought separately. It made it sound like the concert, screening of Amber's movie, panels, etc., will all be a la carte. That kind of sucks. I want more info so I can plan, for goodness sake!

Yeah, and they better not charge for panels. Who does that?! I understand the concert, the movie, and signings be extra as they usually are. But if they charge for pannels that might be a little much for me. Not working with that much cash here.

I have a ton of money saved for this because apparently I am nuts. I bought the $25 dollar ticket. You do NOT need to buy the Buffy VIP tickets to get access to the Buffy actors. It says on the website that all tickets admit you into the convention as well as the Buffy Fest. I know I am getting my pieceworks cards signed by all and some photos with some people. I have a rough estimate on what some of the actors might be charging based on past wizard con prices. I only live an hour away so my dad is dropping my boyfriend and I off @ the hynes convention center b/c the parking at the predential garage is $40! Way too expensive for a car to sit in a lot. lol. I have a process: Bring a big purse, Stuff re-usuable tote bags in purse (So when I buy things I have a place to put them!), I bought 8x10 photo holders to put into my official BTVS trading card binder, and I have my ultra pro trading card holders for my cards. I'm having the following signed: Pieceworks Card - James Marsters' leather coat from Buffy, Pieceworks Card - fabric from Xander's pants, Pieceworks Card - Cordelia S4 Of Angel Cordelia's blouse, Harmony WOS BTVS Card, Glory WOS BTVS Card, The Master - BTVS Card, Doug Jones - BTVS Gentlemen Card. I'm so excited! I've saved up almost $2,000 for this. LOL. PS: I saved up so much because of the sigs, photos, and Remember the largest Buffy/Angel Merch store will be there!
